Good finish.. I thought it was a good ending to a good series. I hope Sookie has a wonderful life!

Iffy. I love these books, but the ending was kind of lacking.

Dead Ever After. Good bye Sookie. You've been a great late night companion - never boring, always interesting, never more than you needed to be, someone I'd like to have met. And thank you Charlaine, for the entertaining escapes.

Losing her touch.... This is Charlaine Harris's worst book. It is not due to the ending. As an author, she can end the series any way she likes. The issue is that the book is boring... it drags on. The content is stale. Sadly for her, Trueblood (which is taking her stories in a different direction from her story lines) is great! It has spice! She had an amazing series with exciting plots and she had readers hanging off of their seats. That is the opposite case with this book. The fact that this is the last book in her series is both good and bad: good as she cannot write another painfully bland book, bad as she ends the series on a dry, "blah' note that leaves a fan hungry and confused. I do not recommend this book.

A series wasted. I wish that I had never read this book. It ruined the entire series for me. I normally will reread a series that I like several times, but this series is dead to me now. It would have been better if she had never written it and let the series die with at big question mark. The plot is meandering and the ending is not believable. She drags in as many of the series characters as possible with no real contribution to the story line and yes I am upset with what she did with Sookie’s love interest. Not because I am so vested in one character, but because she spends the better part of series aiming Sookie at one guy and then at the last minute doing a 180 and leaving her with another. I like the character who Sookie ended up with, but I found it unbelievable. She basically dumped it on us without any real build up of the relationship. I am normally extreamily loyal to the authors I like. I seek out all of their older work. Short stories and other series, but I doubt I will ever read another Charlaine Harris book again.

And then it was done. Very predictable. I get it was the last book and things needed to be ended, but a little more mystery and suspense would have been nice. It felt rushed and boring and worse than the last 2 books. After reading the previous reviews, I knew what I was getting myself into, but I couldn't not read the final book.

Charlaine Harris sure got lazy.. The last two installments in this series were short and pretty shallow. This series was never deep. But the earlier books were fun and sexy. This last book had none of that charm and I read it in a day. I feel cheated.

Dead Ever After........accurate description.. This was so disappointing. Yes, she tied up all the loose ends. However, it seemed rushed an half-assed.

Good - fun - read. Not the best in the series - it was a fun read though - not disappointing, kind of a strange ending ... Hope there is another one in the works - Sookie is a fun heroine.

Beyond Disappointed. CH, if your heart isn't in it, don't write the book and slap a huge price on it just to make some money. I felt betrayed by the author, knowing that she wrote it just to get the story done and the publishers out of her hair. I would have waited another year for the last book if it would have been 100 times better. This book is blasphemous.

What the crap!. I'm writing because I loved all the books but it would have been better if sookie used the cluvial dor to turn Eric into a human or wish freyda away so Eric and sookie could live happy ever after. This ending left me really depressed.

Needs a stronger plots!. I am overly disappointed about the progress of the story. This book is just tying the loose ends with a very unimpressive story line. Such a waste of time reading this last novel.

Wish I could give 1/2 a star. Worst book in the series. It is sad, it seems as if the author was rushed and took no time to really end each relationship or character. The ones brought into the book had already ended the connection to Sookie in other books. It was a train wreck from the beginning. Do not waste your time or money!!!

Dead ever after. Kind of a sad ending and wide open for another! Disappointed!!!

Wrapping up the series shouldn't mean ending it abruptly with forced relationships and zero closure. What a bummer. I really enjoyed this series and although I wasn't expecting and epic finale (10 quality books is good enough) I am pretty disappointed Sookie's tale ended in such an anticlimactic way. Did her and Eric even say goodbye to one another? Like at all? Anyway, what's done is done. I'll just pretend this book was never written and when I think of Sookie, I'll think of her in regards to the first ten books.

Hate to see this series end. Awesome as always ! Sure hate to see the Sookie series ending. They were an absolute thrill ride from beginning to end. Thank You Charlaine !

Booooo!!!!!!. I knew it would end the way it did, but I was hoping the author might change her mind. No such luck, the ending sucked!

Well Done. I don't understand why this book has gotten so many bad reviews. I am only giving it 4 stars because there are still some unanswered questions. Such as, there was no specific person that Sookie ended up with. It was hinted at and some people assume who it was, but there was no concrete decision. As in, she agreed to marry or married a specific person and they lived happily ever after, etc... I hope this will be answered in the follow up book. Some people argue that the style of writing was different, but I disagree. I made it a point to re-read some of the previous books to refresh my memory of the style of writing and the characters. The writing style is the same as previous books, and this book was just as entertaining. I feel that the characters behaved the way they would normally have behaved, and stayed true to themselves. I felt the the ending of Eric and Sookie was sad, being a huge Team Eric fan, but in all fairness, it ended well. There were two major issues in this relationship, and I believe they were given a proper discussion. Eric still provided for Sookie to show her his affection for her, and it's clear that they both still love each other on some level. Sometimes love itself is not enough, and that is shown here. Don't judge a book based solely on what bad things other people have said about it. Read it for yourself and judge based on your own opinion. I'm glad I did. This book is a good read and Charlaine did a wonderful job of wrapping it up, although, there are some questions that still haven't been answered.

What I expected. I think the people unhappy with how Sookie's story ended just weren't paying attention to what Harris has been telling us about her for the last decade. This is exactly how I expected Sookie's story to end.

Underwhelmed. I was so excited to read the last book of this series and was so mad by the time I got to the end. It seemed so pointless and the 'bad guys' felt completely irrelevant. I feel swindled out of $12.99

Don't Expect Much Except to be Disappointed. I loved this series until the second to the last book. That book and this one are absent of all the things that are great about the series, and I won't recommend them to anyone. Characters you loved suddenly become myopic and disappointing. I often got bored while reading rather than excited with anticipation about what will happen next. This book was incredibly predictable and couldn't be less enticing. I feel as if CH lost her talent to write coherent, fluid novels and just threw these last two together to make a sale off the loyal fans. (Maybe she should have taken more time with them the way Sookie wants to with her latest "relationship.") I was so upset about this book and the lack of closure, especially in regard to Eric, that perhaps I will save others the time and money. You'll be happier and more satisfied if you just make up your own ending.

Sookie Lost. I will always think very highly of Charlaine Harris for giving us such an amazing series. However, the finale seemed rushed and incomplete. Almost as though the author was done before she started on the final book. I'm so disappointed not only in the final choice of a man for Sookie, but the fact that she's never had an attraction to him. I feel no chemistry between the two. And, she's now pretty much just settled rather than trying to keep her true love. When has Sookie ever given up so easily? She didn't even try. I feel that the ending was so contrary to the true nature of the key characters. I do, however, look forward to reading more from Charlaine who has become my favorite author. Perhaps she can write one more Sookie novel down the road when the pressure is off.

Did seersucker. EYou I really foeq to be scs

Last in the Sookie Stackhouse Series. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who has been a long time reader of the Sookie series. Highlights included old foes and friends alike making re-appearances and some serious questions answered. However, as an avid reader of the series and watcher of the show I'm not finished with the story of Sookie as well as her many commrades. I am still left wanting more. Darn it.

Cheated. Ok, I’m really not happy with this book. I liked the action and murder stuff just fine but the lack of a HEA with Eric or Bill just irritates the crap out of me since vampires were the big lovers. I really wanted Eric to fall head over heals for Sookie. Then when he left, I wanted him to pine, beg, & threaten other men, but none of that happened. He tried to have his cake and eat it too. I feel cheated!!

Horrible ending. She just gave up. Don't waste your money or time. I've never finished a book or series before and ended up hating the main character. HBO did everyone a favor by abandoning the plots of this series.

Great. Charlain Harris never disappoints!!! Great book wish there would be more!!

Shaking my head. What a disappointment! This series has always been a must read must buy the day it's out. This book was not the others. It was poorly written almost elementary and boring. It held no real storyline for the last book and jumped from topic to topic but never really put together closure with the series. I'm not sure how this mess got past publishers but I'm assuming they just saw dollar signs at an established series. Well I'll continue reading the interesting Beautiful Creatures I put down in excitement for this. N

Good book, bad series ending!. I liked the book before I knew it was the final one. Now I'm just disappointed!

Wh. It was good but a little less steamy than the others. The Eric stuff was like a bucket of cold water.

Dead Ending. This book had so many problems. It was super boring. I was put off by how much Sookie sounded like a bigot through the first half of the book. There was lots of things left unresolved. And the mystery wasn't really a mystery. Not to mention too much boring details about cooking and stuff. It was a very hard book to finish while the 12 previous books were all fast easy reads. This one kinda sucked.

Well - I am left with regret..... I have loved this series and anxiously awaited every book release, I am sorry to say the ending was flat and the true book lovers deserved more.....

Good. I enjoyed this last book. The chemistry has been building between Sookie and Sam since the beginning. Their are guys you have fun with ,and then their is the good guy you spend your life with.

Farewell Sookie. While not the best book in the series, I'm satisfied with the ending. A few loose ends are tied up for many of the characters. I saw many reviewers who were disappointed, but I'm not one of them. I'm still a Charlaine Harris fan and hope she continues with the "Grave" series.

Sad. I feel like she was tired of writing these books. It was just another story no real ending... I still enjoyed it, but feel like it was not as well written. When it came to the last say 25 pages it felt like she was just trying to finish it. After everything about Eric through the whole series, but at east Quin showed up.

YES!. The best way to end a series. I loved every sip! For all of you who hate how the finale ended, I have this to say: if you look carefully back at past books, once Charlaine saw the series was going somewhere, you can see little hints on why she ended up with who she ended up with. I loved her vision all the way and call myself a TRUE fan for it. She is brilliant!

Saddened. I love the Sookie Stackhouse series, I have read everyone of them and been a true fan for years ( even before the tv series) This said I have to say this is my least favorite book. I am saddened by the ending of her story and who she ended up with! I wish that it had been Eric! For me it has always been Eric and I am extremely dissatisfied that it ends here like this!

RIP Sookie…. thankfully!. I am so Glad I will never have to read another conceited, mean spirited, bigoted , prideful and hateful word or thought from this backwoods, white trash Character. I only stuck through this series for the ensemble who were at least three dimensional characters and who will be missed. I am more then thrilled to think of lowly Miss Sookie living out her unimpressive days keeping house in Sam's double wide behind a Bar. Thats a good fit for her! Oh and Charlaine…. how about you try making your villains something other than a minority and an easy target…. once, maybe twice…. but every book…c'mon Lady Please!

Great book!. I have read Sookie since book 1, before True Blood even was a show. CH continues the story as she saw fit. I was rooting for a different man all this time, but she stayed true to her vision and I believe Sookie is exactly where she belongs. I'm very glad CH doesn't let readers influence her to change her stories. She knew how it would end and she kept it that way. It's impossible to please everyone, but she did what was right. Greet book!

A bit disappointed :/. After reading all of the Sookie Stackhouse books I have to say this was my least favorite. I didn't feel the connection or emotions I felt reading the other ones and more so in regards to her new love interest.

Don't listen to other reviews!!!. The only criticism of this book that I have read are selfish people who do not agree with the ending. I myself did not enjoy who Sookie ended up with, however the last sentence in this book was the most empowering thing I have read in a very long time. Unlike the twilight series and basically every fairy tale ever created, Sookie is a remarkably STRONG woman. This is a character that is hard to come across. Everyone wants the happy ending with Prince Charming coming in on his white horse to save his princess. What this book does is show a woman who does not need a man to define her and will get through things no matter what, coming out the other side stronger. Buy it, read it, pass it on to your girl friends, your mothers, your daughters, any woman you can find because this is the message we should send to our kids. That a woman is control of her own life, she does not need a man to take care of her, and having the strength to get through heartbreak instead of letting it consume you is the mark of a truly remarkable woman. A woman all of us should want to be. SPOILER ALERT!!! And to whomever wrote "my poor Eric", are you kidding me? That jerk left Sookie for a more powerful vampire. He had a choice. He also treated her like absolute dirt at the end of their relationship so he did not deserve her to use her magic to keep him with her. Jeez!

???. This isn't a review of the book as it is a complaint to Apple Books. Several chapters are missing their last page. Fix it.

Could have been better. I was sorely disappointed with the ending of this series. It was better than the True Blood ending, but was still not what I expected. Spoiler. The last book was filled with bit characters that haven't been in the whole series. No Eric, and very little Pam and Bill. It turned into a book of shifters and fae. Not even a cameo from Bubba. The bad guys left alive all conveniently come together for a last stand against Sookie and lose (of course). So now she can live happily ever after, right? I doubt there is any reason to get After Dead. Just another way to get a few $ out of my pocket. Oh we'll, thanks for a mostly entertaining series! Just wish the last book would have stayed true to it.

Boring. It surely didn't keep my attention like the other books did. It seems as if it was rushed, just to get it over with.

Soso. It left me o.k with everything. We have came this fair you have to read the book if you have all the others.

Disappointed. Wow what a huge disappointment!!! The last 2 books were a huge let down and this one even worse. Spoiler----- I always hoped her and the viking goddess would work out. I figured tere was a good chance they wouldnt but I was hoping it would be someone new she ended up with; a new character not someone who has been there all along! I felt robbed reading it, but new where this romance was headed since reading the ending of te last book. An author cant write to please everyone and I'm sure many people with love this book but for me personally I dont care for how everything played out. It felt like a big build up to absolutley no where.

Disappointed. I wish I had read the reviews As stated in other reviews the last 2 books were definitely not up to the rest of the series. This last book was a chore to get get through and unimaginative.

Bad ending..... Bad ending to a great series. She would have stopped after the last book. Terrible.

Disappointment. Seriously not pleased. Had such high hopes & she dashed them all. Why build up characters & relationships if your just going to ignore them and let them just suddenly, randomly dissolve?

Dead Ever After. I loved it, but that's not who I was hoping Sookie would end up with.

Final Curtain. I liked the ending, it was what I had hoped for all along . Way to go Charlene, I am going to miss the books though . I loved the stories of Sookie , and all the other Bon Temp characters.

Ridiculously disappointing. Probably the worst ending to a series ever. So disappointing. Though it seemed like the series had been in decline for some time, this was just epic in it's failure to close out the series. She might as well have written "and they all live happily ever after."

Bad. Wost book in the history of fantasy bad writing bad plot horrible changes to past main characters and a tragedy of an ending thanks Charlene way to kill your series.

Lacking. Like a few of the other reviewers on here I felt that something was lacking in this novel. The previous 12 were mostly great! It almost felt as if she got tired of writing and summed it all up quickly at the end. It sure left a lot be desired. Ultimately I felt there was little to no closure - which is why I assume the next book is coming out later this year. It answers all the burning questions still plaguing readers minds.

Horrible. It's like reading bad fan fiction from someone who hasn't paid much attention to the previous books. The characters' motivations are vague and changing. The action scenes are confusing and poorly narrated. The characters who have gotten the most attention over the past 12 novels are quickly dropped and ignored. For a series called "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" there really aren't many vampires left by the end. Disappointed that it had to end this way.

Dead ever after. Loved it!!!!! Wish there was going to be more sookie books. The best books ever! Very happy with the ending, but so sad it's over.

Err. Let me start off with I loved this series but this book ruined it for me. Finally what we all wanted happens and you can't just make that happy ending happen! In the end I'm so disappointed with this last book. And if like to add I can't believe you would let them change everything in the show:(

Sadly Disappointed. I loved reading the book... However I felt it lacked substance... No real closure... I felt like it read... Blah blah blah... Where was everyone's ending? It could have easily been the BEST of the series... It wasnt... I felt that the last four books were no match for earlier published books... :(

And what passes for love is never enough.... I was ok with the way the serie was going but in the beginning of this one my heart just wasnt in it. I'm sad that its over and I wish we could of had a closure with all the other characters of the book (other than their personnal relationships). Like are they all okay with each other? Does some of the final couples will be having kids? And like what the hell happens to Bill? And Bubba? And Desmond Cataliades? And Barry? Does anyone ever those again or does Sookie never see them again ever and thats why there wont be another book? I need closure and lets just say that, the book wasnt enough.

Not as good as the others. I was disappointed I felt like it was late down on how the story ended.

Dead Ever After. Wow was so looking forward to reading this book - wish I had checked out the reviews first. The writing is sloppy and not reflective of her early works - she sold out for the money and fame her heart wasn't in this one

Good series. Good series and a decent read in itself but I was disappointed in the ending and didn't feel it was very finished and appeared rushed.
