Second honeymoon a winner!. Second Honeymoon, written by James Patterson and Howard Roughan, snares the reader in the first chapter and gives him a ride for the entire novel. Thrilling, amusing, thoughtful and fast the plot speeds along. Once you pick up the book, turn off the phone, feed the dogs, get snacks and drink and settle yourself for a pleasurable read. John and Sarah, the protagonists, are well drawn, and the authors infuse the buddy/lovers motif with fresh power. Let's hope the authors create a sequel or two or more.

Awesome. Really liked both books. For those of you who don't like it when Patterson partners with other writers is silly. First, it gives his books a different tone and wit. I'd give 10 stars if I could. I've never read a bad Patterson book.

Second Honeymoon. I like the character, John O'Hara. He's funny and has a very 'gumshoe' aura around him. In SH, he is a little weaker than in previous books. I liked 'Sarah' as well and she was strong to the end. I thought the book was entertaining but the plot was a bit choppy. I'd give it 3 stars!

Read it in a day!. This book had me glued from the start. A great way to start the story & to keep me glued. I don't want to give anything away so I won't say anymore. It's a very easy & enjoyable read.

Second honeymoon. A good mystery that the author (obviously not Patterson himself) Sillies up with way too many of the main characters thoughts that I imagine are supposed to be considered witty. Just give us the dialogue and keep the childish thoughts.

Very disappointing. I found this book to be a let down from beginning to end. I wanted to try a new genre of book to read and wanted a good murder/suspense type of vibe and even though this did at times pay off in that sense, I found the writing mediocre. The constant corny thoughts this lead character had was mind numbing. The 2 different story lines were both a snooze, not fleshed out in any significant way and ended without any good pay off. I imagine this book is to Detective thrillers as the cheeseball books with Fabio on the cover are to Romance novels. Cheap and thoughtless. I did give it an extra star solely because some people do enjoy these types of easy reads and I guess this is as good as any of those. Or maybe I'm just being too generous with my stars.

Confusing. Switches between characters often making it difficult to follow the plot. Intentionally misleads the reader apparently to create suspense but only leads to confusion. One of the poorer novels with the Patterson name on it.

6 stars if I could. I read a lot of books of this genre and this is now one of my favorites. Great story, characters, and narrator.
