Smoking Gun by C. L. Stone Book Summary
Charleston native Celeste Logan is the face for her father's real estate company. She's been trained from an early age to sweet talk people into accepting million-dollar deals and is in all the commercials. When her father's death is wrongly portrayed as an accident, it will take more than a little bit of sugar to get John Sanders, her father's jerkwad, right-hand guy, to confess to murder. Celeste spies on Sanders to get the evidence she needs, only to be stalled by Beau Andrews.
Beau is clever, seductive, a private detective, and he's working for Sanders. Celeste believes her only way to find what she wants is through Beau, but while she's looking for a way in, there's someone else preying her.
Between a mugging, a car chase, random dead carcass deposits on her porch, and other meanie things happening to her, she's a little too out of breath to find the words to win Beau over.

Inconsistent. There were so many inconsistencies - interchanging "I" and "she", sentences with no endings, different sizes of fonts, etc. I couldn't even finish the book. I'm a huge fan of C.L. Stone, but this was just sloppy and seemed rushed.
PFishhands. Well, don't spend more than .99 on Melody. It would be worth more had it had an editor. I almost stopped reading at one point but the characters kept me going. Some sentences didn't make sense at all and mixed fonts were irritating. There were times of not knowing who the author was taking about; mixing tense in a sentence and mixing perspective was really confusing and caused some rereads to figure out. If you can get through the lack of editing the story is good.

Editing. Difficult to read on a tablet.... This comment is in regards to the editing of the book. There were quiet a few grammatical errors. Letters added on to words, only half spelt words, Font sizes changed frequently & also had to change the font size to a smaller size to pick up & read ending of chapters. Very frustrating.
Smoking Gun. It's a potty this book never got edited. The story is ok but not up to the usual c.l. Stone standard.
