Great Book. Well written, nicely illustrated and good use of the interactive features the iPad plattform provides. I am a rank noob guitar student and this book is written in a way even I understand.

Great breakdown of modes. I have been struggling with understanding modes and how to "sound" and play in a particular mode for sometime. Well, in the first 20 pages of this book, I finally had the light switch go on because of the easy style of this book. This book breaks down the core concepts of modes and actually is also interactive with live examples. For me, this was very important as text is good but live examples are even better. The style of teaching for me was the best and helped me learn the concepts of modes. For those of you who were like me and trying to understand the concept of modes, this will be a great book for you to learn from. This book would be great for the beginner and intermediate guitarist.

Excellent. I learned modes back in the 70's via several books, tips from other players and just plain connecting the dots over time. I was very pleased to see that David covered all the key ingredients that I learned in his new e-book. Wish I had this back in '76. The only bigger bonus than being free(!) is that you can hear nice clear examples throughout the book. Well done, and thanks David.

One of the best theory books there is!. As long as you sit down with your guitar and take things slowly it'll teach you more in an hour than a lesson with a tutor will. The interactive element is brilliant and shows what you can actually do with an iBook, after reading this I'd happily pay through the nose next time! Bring it on Wallimann, we want more :) a guitar playback app perhaps?

Formidable!. David has demystified this until-now perplexing topic. His writing is clear and brief, and so, much more engaging than the many laborious and turgid books out there on learning guitar. His book has not only been revelatory about the seven modes, but has beefed up my knowledge of the theory behind the pentatonic scales. I believe I have learnt something that will be of practical use every day from now on. Probably the best £7.49 I have spent as far as guitar-training goes.

Get this now. With very clear explanations and diagrams, this book is definitely worth getting for any guitar player who wants to become a better musician. 5 stars, great job

Excellent interactive guitar study book. Simple to understand lessons that will benefit any guitarist. If your looking to understand modes I would definitely recommend this book. David has managed to make a relatively complex subject interesting and easy to understand. I just wish there were more books like this on iTunes.

Great book for learning modes! Easy to understand.. This is the best book I've read on learning modes. It's easy to understand and doesn't bombard you with useless facts, only the important stuff. Plus, all the demonstrations and diagrams really help nail the stuff into your brain. A must have for people learning modes or really want to master them.

Well done. This book is very well done. Diagrams are well made, concise and easy to understand. The embedded sound samples make it easy to assimilate the theory. This is what I was searching for since a long time.
