Mirage by Clive Cussler & Jack Du Brul Book Summary

When a high-profile Russian prisoner warns of a deadly weapon designed by one of America's greatest inventors, Juan Cabrillo and the Oregon crew must race to uncover the truth in this adventure in the #1 New York Times–bestselling series.

In October 1943, a U.S. destroyer sailed out of Philadelphia and supposedly vanished, the result of a Navy experiment with electromagnetic radiation. The story was considered a hoax—but now Juan Cabrillo and his Oregon colleagues aren’t so sure.

There is talk of a new weapon soon to be auctioned, something very dangerous to America’s interests, and the rumors link it to the great inventor Nikola Tesla, who was working with the Navy when he died in 1943. Was he responsible for the experiment? Are his notes in the hands of enemies? As Cabrillo races to find the truth, he discovers there is even more at stake than he could have imagined—but by the time he realizes it, he may already be too late.

I really do wish they would syndicate these for films.. Viva La Oregon! I love these characters, the ingenuity of the plot, and the action. This guy Juan is a modern day Jack Sparrow without the theatrics but with all the cunning. Thank you de Brul and Cussler, you made my weekend with a cold incredibly enjoyable.

Mirage. A great work of adventure/sci-fi well worth the reading!

Mitage Clive Cussler. I started reading Clive Cussler a couple of years ago. He is a good story teller. He is still surprising after ten or twenty of his books. Maybe me, but my blood pressure seems to rise in some parts of the book. Good luck with the Joy of a Good Book. James S. Deaton the Other Candidate for the President of the United States

Mirage. Well written and fast paced. DuBrul is Cussler's best ghost writer by far. Highly recommend.

Another winner. I like this character set. It seems that this one is perhaps a bit over focused on Juan. Usually this author tends to fixate more on the technology. He had been doing better previously with his overall development of other team members.

Mirage. A pertty good read, held my attention throughout the story. Even though it is a far fetched story plot was a interesting story line. Before I forget the place where the f18 took off. From did not travel down a runway on an aircraft carrier. It is known in US Navy language as being catapulted of of the flight deck

Mirage. A thriller from the beginning, Mirage embodies the best and worst of stealth technology present and future.

Give a break. Superman would love to have half the capabilities of this silly group of adventurers and their bat mobile ship. C'mon Clive, why must the reader suspend all reason, logic and memory for you to hang together this foolish story?

Can't wait for Juan and the Oregon to return.. Gonna be great!

Always entertaining.. I really enjoyed the layers of this book from Cussler. A fan of most of his novels Cabrillo seems to be an exceptionally rich character.

Industry NIHl. Hey you juggle a few Okay sounds good, thank youuuuyuyiuduiyjuuiuf

The first error I've read. In the epilogue I read the first mistake in any of the Clive Cussler books. It said he reported the incident to the Coast Guard in 1902, however the Coast Guard didn't take the name until 1915, previously it was the life saving service. Being in the Coast Guard the slip of the facts shocked me, their usually dead on.

Another Great One From the Master. Wow! Spellbinding, edge-of-your-seat adventure. Cussler and DuBrul are two master story tellers. This is their best so far. Hoping for many more.

Great book.. Well worth the read. Some sections really had me leaning forward in my seat. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that level of action and dramatic tension in a book.

Mirage is an excellent book. Hard to put down.. The Oregon and her crew are put to maximum tests. The authors do a superb job of action adventure. Lots of imagination with cool technology. I do highly recommend this book for any action adventure reader.

Mirage. As usual Cussler didn't disappoint. Great read. Can't wait for the next Oregon Files book.

Great book. 5 stars. Great book

Mirage. Fast paced but predictable-heroes come close to death then miraculously escape death at last possible second. Repeat, repeat.
