Amazing. A remarkable story. A must read.

Somewhat disappointing. Could have been a good story against an interesting backdrop, but other than the first five chapters or so, this book becomes a bit of a flat snore, each chapter being much like the previous, until it reaches what appears to be a hurried ending. Keeps you interested up until the time the cast is stranded in Albania, after which its a very repetitive, and flat, minor adventure. The Author would have done better to pick four or five key characters from the 30 rescued medics and Nurses and made it a bit more personal, and a bit deeper on a human level, instead of telling a general story around the obviously general and ordinary large group of unfortunate nurses and medics. Wouldn't waste any time on this one. Sorry.

The Secret Rescue. Detailed, well-written documentary of an incredible rescue during wartime. Although comparatively small in importance to so many other events of WWII, this is a reminder of the grit and determination that won the war.

The Secret Rescue. I really enjoyed reading this book. The author was able to convey to the reader the terrible danger and hardships these people faced. They were a good example of why the people who fought in WW11 were of "The Greatest Generation".
