Great Plot, Writing a Bit Stilted. Good twists and turns. Writing is not as smooth as usual — had to put it down to get some stamina.

Love Baldacci, but …(Audiobook review). I have read many of his books and with these characters, however….I found this one to be a little drawn out lacking the constant edge of your seat that made me love this author. I can say that I did not "read" this book but listened to the audio version, I found myself saying, "is this ever gonna end" towards the conclusion. I liked this audiobook because it had two people and sound effects, the down side is I found myself getting annoyed when it was very obvious that Michelle was talking and the man voice followed up her dialogue with "Michelle said" or "Michelle replied." All in all it was a decent 'listen to" but I loved The Innocent and The Forgotten much much better.

Maxwell and king. From start to end it was captivating and couldn't put it down. Written well with intriguing twists throughout. Ending Tied all loose ends and left you wanting more good job

King and Maxwell. Boring and poorly written.

Best read in a long time. I don't know when I've enjoyed a book as much as I did this one. Action-packed and edge-of-the-seat drama. What a great book by a great writer.

What is the point of a preorder if it is not recognized! Terribly disappointing!. Very disappointed with the non response to a preorder. Rather spend the money on someone that can deliver!

Could have been good. He's slipping. Churning out books instead of creating stories of art and substance. The big problem here is the constant coincidences that solve problems. The whole book keeps having a lucky break a chapter to solve a mystery. Totally predictable. Not crafty like so many of his other books. Disappointing to his fans. Wanted to love it. Just can't.

King Maxwell. Slow. Predictable. Uninspiring. Not close to standard

Excellent read!. Great book, with excitement throughout. The characters are well developed and interesting. You have to wonder if some of them will show up in further writings. The story line is current and I found the book hard to put down, only knowing that I would have problems staying awake the next day, was the reason for stopping for the night.

Pathetic. Worst book I've read in years! Sentence structure and content is a 3rd grade level, full of banal exchanges of "Sean said . . . Michelle said," and completely unbelievable scenarios such as the President asking for their help. This isn't a work of fiction, it's a bunch of mindless sentences thrown together to give the author and publisher a paycheck. I only finished it to see if it would get any better - - it finally did - - I finished it.

King and Maxwell. Usual good read although just a little slow in places. Love Edgar!

King and Maxwell. The best PI pair imaginable. True to form, David Baldacci has written another novel with unforeseen twists that cannot be duplicated. Thanks DB.

Hour Game. Thrilling and compelling. My kind of book.‼️‼️

Boring. It's a good read but rather lame plot and predictable ending. Needed raunchy sex scenes to make it perfectly ridiculous.

King and Maxwell. While King and Maxwell has an imaginative story line and slightly rounded characters--about standard for the genre--the run of cliches knocked the writing level down from professional to freshman. While the author had a few over-reaches in the plot, the tale moved well. But a good editor could have worked wonders with a blue pen, or even a red one. A good writer has made money by putting his name on someone else's novel: a tatty sweater woven with inferior yarn, and I feel cheated.

King and Maxwell. Really good stuff. Too bad the TV show didn't make it.
