My Cat named Bob. I enjoyed reading this book, wishing I have this kind of cat, so smart.

Happily surprised. I have read a lot of books about cats and dogs and their companion animals humans. This is the first book I read where the human was a drug abuser-no need to mince words that's what bobs human says he was so that's what I write. I devoured the first half of the book and then got impatient. I read ahead in bits and pieces and got it all wrong in my mind. It seemed as if he was back sliding back into drugs. You see I knew nothing about bob or his human and didn't know at the time how their future had already worked out. I just couldn't bear it if he started using again. I mean what about bob and would they both be ok. Here in America pets are not allowed in housing so if bad things started happening again would bob be a street cat again and would James be homeless? A few weeks go by and I pick the book up again and decide to power through no matter what and man I could kick myself. James thinks of bob and gets on methadone and then off methadone and then gets clean. He writes this wonderful book and I shared it with my sister in law. I bought the second one. It is just as good. Just get it and read it. Everyone deserves a second third fourth ...chance to get things right. No one should be written off.

Great. What a wonderful relationship ....I was always a dog person until I met a cat at a friends house...for some reason she and I fell madly in love....her name is Katy, but to she and i , she is Little Girl....I can relate to finding a cat that fits you.....

A Streetcat Named Bob. Simply told, this book about a recovering drug addict and a stray cat offers a glimpse into the hard life that both characters live. You'd imagine a depressing tale of difficulty and setbacks. These elements are certainly there. Interestingly, the book tells a positive story of recovery and redemption in a direct and engaging manner.

Everyone needs a Bob in their life. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It was great from beginning to end. It was heart wrenching, sad at times and touching, all at the same time. I fell in love with the relationship that James and Bob have. Everyone needs a Bob in their life!

Excellent!. I am a 38 year old African American male, and cat lover! And while my struggles in life are -for obvious reasons- different. A cat named Jacob changed my life in 2005, in the same sense as Bob did for James. This story is inspirational, and also a great telling of how, something so sweet can change your WHOLE perspective on life! Give a cat a chance to show you TRUE love!

A Special Cat. This book can remind us all of the powerful connection between man and animal. In this case a very smart and lovable cat named Bob. I also was impressed with the writer's honesty about his addiction and how he lived a lonely existence until Bob came into his life. It never ceases to amaze me how smart cats are. As a cat owner I can relate to Bob's intuitive personality and loyalty. Hope to read another book on Bob's adventures!

Great story about the power of pets and their unconditional love, the difficulties of life and dealing with its effects through escapism, and having the strength to find purpose and direction in life to overcome. A Street Cat Named Bob. Boysmumas Best book I have read ever. I'm a cat lover and have a big ginger cat named Chuck. He's not quite as smart as Bob and uses a litter box, but is a great companion. I hope this author writes a sequel to this book so I can keep up with Bob's adventures. He certainly is a magical cat.

Very heart warming. I love how they saved each other, and yes everybody deserves a second chance in life. I can't wait for the sequel.

A Street Cat Named Bob. A must read book! The book was very inspiring, courageous, and heart warming. I really appreciated the writer's insights into how it is to live on the street, which gave me different perspectives. The human-animal bond between Bob and the writer reminded us how importance it is in our lives, but their extraordinary bond showed the deeper level of inter-specie relationships. I applaud both of them and I cannot wait to read the sequel and I will be sure follow how they are in the future.

A Street Cat Named Bob. This book was great! It makes you look at life and people not a part of your comfort zone in a new light. Being a cat lover and also having a cat we think has special gifts I loved the story and the honesty from the writer about how sometimes we get a gift and we need to appreciate it and what a huge part animals can play in our lives.

His description of the gritty lows takes the reader to life on the streets and paints a vivid picture of drug dependence and recovery, and the transformation of the human condition during both. I found myself turning pages eager to see what happened next and genuinely worried for their well being in some of their misadventures. The bond between Bob and James will warm your heart.

Wonderful!. This is a great story of love. James and Bob are a wonderful couple; they look after one another, and are respectful of each other. I really appreciated James's honesty about his addiction and recovery, plus giving credit to Bob for his support. I wish I knew both of them.

Heartwarming. I bought this book on a whim and immediately loved it! It's a heartwarming story and it makes you realize how those affected by homelessness and addiction cope though their struggles, and how just one angel, in James' case, Bob, can really help turn your life around. It made me grateful for the things I have in life, and made me cuddle my cat (and dog) a little closer while we sat in bed and read. It was a quick and easy read that hasn't ended yet - Bob and James are still together, just living a slightly different life!
