Amazing. This book is a exciting book and if you like it read any Stephen king book.

Highway. I've read all of CJ Box's books and this was the least enjoyable one. The story was very dark and it was a struggle to get through. I'm looking forward to him getting back to a Joe Pickett novel.

Must read!. CJ Box is a master storyteller and gets better with every book!

Hard to stay interested-no likable characters. The story and characters in this book make it hard to stay interested. No character is likable and the story drifts around in a jerky manner. I’m giving up less than halfway through because I am not enjoying this read.

The Highway. Not great. Dialogue in some parts was terrible. The plot was interesting but the character development was virtually non-existent.

CJ Box is a great story-teller!. I'm a big fan of the Joe Pickett series, as well as his stand-alone books. This was no exception. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down!

Not as good as the Pickett series.. The storyline is decent, but the protagonist is not very likable. Too much coincidence. The back-stories about the trucking culture and the oil business in the Bakken add texture, but really a hash of irritating personalities and events. The Pickett series is far better in story and evolution and characters. Another reviewer wondered if it was ghost-written , and it does have that different feel to it, although I suspect it is from the original author. Not his best.

Box delivers again!. CJ Box is a writer who should be mentioned in the same breath a the best fiction writers of the present. This story is a page turner and I couldn't put it down. This story along with the Joe Pickett novels, put him in Lee Child/Reacher author/character status. Though the characters are different, the development of the stories and the personalities of the characters are on the same lines. If you like 'em thrilling, Box is a top author for you!

The Highway. Just about the worst book I have ever read. What where you thinking.

The Highway. CJ Box has set the bar so high that when he fails to achieve it, the disappointment is intense. I suspect if I have simply picked up this book by an unknown author, I would have been far less disappointed. Let's only hope that this is an aberration and not a signal (as with Stuart Woods, et al.) that Mr. Box has entered a downward spiral in which he mails in a lackluster effort to meet a publishing contract deadline.

Best author. C.j. Good work...don't listen to all these haters, we lost one character but gained another, can't wait for the next one. Just finished breaking point too...keep em comin!

Oops. I have enjoyed all of the Joe Pickett series. This one fails badly. He spends to much time on the villains, briefly introduces an interesting character and then kills him. Hardly does any character development to the heroine. Then quickly throws her the victory, end of story.

Great book. It was a great book, well written and keeping your interest. Still, I missed the game warden, the mountains and the the animals.

HORRIBLE!. I love CJ Box / Joe Pickett novels and made a huge mistake buying this book. The “Lizard King” character is horrendous in thoughts and action so I was so disgusted I quit reading after a few chapters. This is a sick book...

Highway. Spoiler-- Don't kill off your strong characters from prior books and don't let the bad guys win. It's not what I want to read and I'm done with this author that was once a favorite of mine.

Disappointed. Very disappointed. This has a good storyline but the author seemed to ramble from the history of one character to another. All the background wasn't necessary. Box usually has great writing, keeping the reader's attention. I found myself speed reading, looking for more meat to the story. Wanted to get it over with.

Highway. I have read 12 of mr. Box's books and enjoyed them all. I was floored by this nauseating piece of garbage that was more a horror book resembling some of Steven King's. How could a good writer come up with a horror "story" in which not a single character was likable, or could keep the attention or sympathy of the readers? Was this penned by a co-writer? DO NOT waste your money or time on this worthless book!

Good read. Watched Big Sky so had to read where it all originally started!

Too Typical.... This is your typical kidnapping story. Truck driver kidnaps prostitute and gets rescued by cop. There isn't really much more to say about this book. It moves fairly slow and I didn't really feel hooked. If you're going to read C.J. Box, Id say stick with the Joe Pickett series.

Disappointed. As big CJBox fan, this was disappointing, train wreck of a book. Makes me miss Joe and Box at top of his game.
