My Brother's Voice: How a Young Hungarian Boy Survived the Holocaust: A True Story by Stephen Nasser Book Summary

Stephen Nasser somehow dug deep within his soul to survive the brutal and inhumane treatment his captors inflicted on the Jews. He was the only one of his family to survive--but the memory of his brother's dying words compelled him to live. Stephen's account of the Holocaust, told in the refreshingly direct and optimistic language of a young boy, appeals to both younger audiences and his contemporaries. Written in a straightforward, narrative style, Nasser avoids the cloying or maudlin language that characterizes some stories of the Holocaust. Perhaps it's for that reason readers will find his book one they won't forget--and one they recommend to others as a "must read."

Inspirational and very moving. I have read many survivors stories about Auschwitz and they are all shocking and upsetting but this story had me in floods of tears, 2 brothers surviving a horrendous ordeal together, a true story of family, friendships, strength and bravery. Fantastic book but also so very sad, but that is the reality of the shocking events that happened back then.

T. Was nice to hear what happened to a holocaust survivor after they were freed. Iv ready many holocaust stories and this one gives every emotion. I have vowed not to read no more I still can't get the thought of baby peter out of my head. However a good read with such a positive young man! Bless you
