Classic. Amazing, very real and heartfelt emotions.

Perfect read for all ages. What an amazing read! When I was reading the book in the beginning of the story, I questioned why kids read this book because of how depressing it is but once I got to the middle, it all made sense why. This is a perfect read for kids to understand the simple things in life, appreciate what they have, and never be afraid to start over. As an English major college student, I was obsessed with the way the author used metaphors with the quilt and the fruits. It's a perfect read for all ages.

OMG SO GOOD!!!😀. This book was SO good I couldn’t put it down!!!! Even though it was sad it hooked me. It shows how Esperanza lives during the Great Depression and how she tries to live whenever her mom got dust Pneumonia. It is truly an AMAZING STORY!!! I have never heard of this book until I was assigned it in my book club and it was SO GOOD!!

Lovely. Esperanza is a really brave girl after what happened in her life. I’m reading this book in our classroom and it’s interesting. I enjoyed the book and hopefully you can find deeply in you hearts to enjoy the book like I did.

Challenging, but worth it. The Spanish was a little difficult for my 4th graders to read and comprehend, so I also purchased the audio version. We followed along in our text as we listened, stopping when necessary to make sense of the Spanish and comprehend the text. After chapter 2, my students were hooked! They loved this book and although they needed help with the language, they understood the story. Great read!
