The Opposite of Wild by Kylie Gilmore Book Summary

Steamy small town romance full of heart and humor! USA Today Bestselling Series!

Unleash the wild woman…?

Ex-cop Ryan O'Hare takes one look at buttoned-up control freak Liz Garner and just itches to loosen the woman up. Not that he’s into her. Because a woman like that comes with way too many expectations. Not to mention, she practically works for him, and he didn’t hire Liz to watch after his beloved Harley-stealing Gran so he could turn Liz loose in his bed. Still, there’s something about her, a hidden wild side, that makes him wonder what it would take.

Liz must be crazy to work for the insensitive, arrogant, horribly…hot man she's avoided for years. Unfortunately, she needs the money and Ryan's grandmother needs a keeper. (Midnight tango lessons and ziplines with Gran, anyone?) Ryan's rare smile and swaggering confidence have Liz torn between throwing her favorite pinot grigio at his head or throwing herself at him. Can this control freak find a way to let loose with the tough, no-strings guy who once broke her heart?

The Opposite of Wild. Five stars are given to The Opposite of Wild because at every turn of the page there is a new humorous twist. Some of the events are completely unexpected! I relate to the main character and her personality. Liz's care for others shines through and she is a genuine heroine. Synopsis: The Opposite of Wild The Opposite of Wild is the tale of a methodical little sister, Liz, who has bailed her older sister out of more sticky situations than Liz has ever been in. Family drama ensues when Liz discovers that her sister Daisy’s condition requires a lifetime of responsibility. The problem solver, Liz is ready to take on the challenge of motherhood and help Daisy raise the child despite her teaching position. Money for the new baby is Liz’s top priority over the summer. Discovering the identity of the father is one of Liz’s side-interests but Liz hits several stumbling blocks in her quest. Love is determined to find Liz in the most comical way. She has fallen in love with her employer and has been accepted by his family- most importantly his grandmother. Enjoy the adventure and reveal how one situation leads to new family and love connections. I

Trash. I don’t normally review books because I don’t want to influence people’s opinion about the book but this book made me want to say something. Liv was the poster of annoying. She even got more frustrating when daisy gave birth to Bryce. She is not the mother and she felt like she had to be there every single time. If her sister was married, would she move to the sisters house just because she felt like he was all she had. I am just going to stop here and not spoil anything anymore. Bad book.

Bad. Unrealistic. Completely and totally unrealistic. I cannot believe how totally unrealistic this book was.

Very entertaining. Really fun and enjoyable. Laughed out loud and planning on more of this series!

An excellent story of second chances...in more than one way.. Liz is an uptight person, who needs to loosen up, and Ryan is just the person to do it. With a little bit of help from Liz's friends Maggie and Rachel, she learns that it's okay to break from routine and have a little bit of fun. Through her journey she makes some startling discoveries about Ryan as well and how her Humiliation in school really wasn't one after all. If you love second chances, especially where more than one character gets one, you will love The Opposite of Wild. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The Opposite of Wild. Great summer read! Warm, funny, sexy, and sometimes frustrating!

The Opposite of Wild by Kylie Gilmore. No spoilers here! I don't usually read anything but YA books! But I used to read tons of adult romance and I had the chance to read this pre-pub. What a fun read! I loved Liz because she reminded me so much of myself when I was in my twenties. And holy smokes, Ryan. Definitely the kind of guy I want in a romance novel! The other characters are just as memorable especially Ryan's gran--she's hilarious in a show-stealing way! Lots of tension, plenty of laughs, and a whole lotta steamy! You won't be sorry! :)

The Opposite of Wild. Wonderful book. Romance and humor; loved it.

The Opposite of Wild. The Opposite of Wild from debut author Kylie Gilmore is the opposite of dull. It’s a delightful, fun, fast-paced read that will have you literally LOL-ing in many places. When her flighty sister shows up on her doorstep and announces she’s pregnant, schoolteacher Liz Garner is reminded of the loud ticking of her own biological clock. Seizing the opportunity to have a baby in her life, Liz puts all of her control-freak efforts into helping her sister, including taking an extra job as a companion to uber-sexy Ryan O’Hare’s somewhat…unconventional grandmother. Keeping her eyes off Ryan while struggling to keep up with the irascible Gran, Liz finds her neatly scheduled life spinning out of control. Ryan is intrigued by the buttoned-up schoolteacher, and the hints of reckless passion simmering just below her surface present him with a challenge he can’t pass up. But for him, that’s where it ends. After raising his brothers almost single-handedly, settling down with a family of his own is not on his agenda. The author has a gift for writing both humor (think Kristan Higgins) and passion (think Jill Shalvis). Home and family are major themes throughout the story and in this first book from the Clover Park series, Gilmore has created a charming small town backdrop for Liz and Ryan’s whacky and rocky road to romance. The secondary characters are well-developed and witty (especially the sometimes scene-stealing Gran!) and I’m looking forward to seeing them all in the next story in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am already a big Kylie Gilmore fan.

Awful!. The lead heroine acts like the 13 year old idiot that she keeps revisiting, even though she is supposed to be 30 now. Plus, thinking she is responsible for her new-born nephew? Really?? Very non-believable.

Kylie Gilmore “The Opposite of Wild”. Funny, serious, sexy, and overall satisfying.

This book had me laughing.... Ryan's easygoing charm and Liz's uptight ways led to fantastic banter and some steamy scenes. I was rooting for them through out their bumpy ride. The humor was balanced nicely with heavier, emotional moments. I fell in love with the O'Hare's, especially the kooky grandmother Maggie, and of course Ryan. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Review: Clover Park #1: The Opposite of Wild. The Opposite of Wild by Kylie Gilmore is the first book in her Clover Park series. A fun, light-hearted read, filled with small town familiarity, some very relatable OCD, and some sweet romance. Liz had a weight problem in school, and has, in the years since, taken FULL control of her life. Organizing her home and her diet with the best of the meticulously organized in the world. Well organized until her 7-month pregnant sister shows up on her doorstep and she has to get a summer job to help said sister. This leads to "watching" over the grandmother of the guy she crushed on in high school, the object of the biggest "Humiliation" in her life, Ryan O'Hare. Ryan O'Hare is an ex-cop turned private investigator and he has just made it his goal to ruffle as many of Liz's feathers as he can as often as he can. How can Liz retain her controlled and organized life with everyone around her throwing everything out of whack? Will she let her OCD tendencies keep her from letting loose and chasing love with Ryan? I am eager to read the next book in this series if it is anything like this first book. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

great read!. this was such a great story! can't wait for the rest of the series!

Great Book. Well thought out. Characters are fun getting to know and the story is realistic, funny and poignant at times. Didn’t want to put it down.

Madcap adventures!. Comically romantic!I really loved my visit to Clover Park. Quirky-but-lovable characters and crazy shenanigans ensue, and the roller coaster ride to love has never made me laugh this much before. The most outrageous character is the dedicated Grandma who raised her three grandsons after their mother died and their father drank away his sorrows. Of course she's going to love and spoil them, of course she's going to meddle in their lives, and you can bet she drives them nuts too. And when she does, you can sit back and enjoy the bumpy road to happily-ever-after in this great boxed set. There's plenty of comical miscommunications, misunderstandings and madcap adventures between these three brothers and the women they set their sights on. Trust me, you definitely want to stick around to see the sparks fly between these oh-so-sexy brothers and the gorgeous gals they fall in love with. As an added bonus, enjoy Christmas Eve with the family and their friends. I sure did!

Annoying. Gave this two stars because I liked Ryan and his brothers and Gran. Liz and Daisy were annoying and unrealistic. Writing style wasn't bad but I did not finish once Liz made the stupid decision to "choose" between her nephew and Ryan.

Loved it. Loved this book. Read it on valentines day. Not too graphic but had a few love scenes. Good writing style and easy to read. I liked the metaphors.

The opposite of wild. I have enjoyed the series so far. However, I read the second book first. They are stand alone; however, if you read the extra epilogue after the first book, you'll know what happens to Daisy and Trav in book two. But I'm loving the series just the same.

Great. Great read!!

Love Story Even A Male Can Appreciate. Truly an enjoyable story! If you do not like sexy stories and intense sex, don’t bother reading this author!

Nice try. Decent enough. The primary female character was excruciatingly annoying from trying to control everything and everyone around her to long ramblings about her insecurities; not like able at all. A lot of text could have been omitted and I found myself skipping large chunks at a time without losing track of the events within the book.

The Opposite of Wild is the opposite of boring!. I just finished reading The Opposite of Wild by Kylie Gilmore and what a treat! It was fun and funny, capturing those awkward moments when you can't decide if you love him or want to clobber him :) Hats off to Kylie Gilmore in her debut novel and here's hoping to see these characters, who I've grown quite attached to, again soon!

Just "meh". This book was well written but pretty boring in my opinion. I just reread the description and saw that it was supposed to be humorous? Everything about Liz is pretty dull, and I found it hard to stomach that she wanted to forgo her own happiness because of her older sister's life choices.

Great characters. Love the generational stories and the lovely romances. Good family dynamics!

It's ok. Ok book, good it was free. Didn't like the female character and sister. They both were all over the place. Acted like 17 year old girls instead of ~30something year old women. Rest of the characters are nice. Book is too long and not much is really happening.

Tepid. Nice enough feel good book. But no great depth to plot and nothing new.

A brilliant refreshing romance story that you have to read!. The Opposite of Wild was my first book by Kylie Gilmore but definitely won’t be my last! This book definitely makes my favourites list. I was gripped from start to finish with Liz and Ryan’s story, although at times I wanted to bang their heads together. It was refreshing to read about two characters who felt believable and realistic and set in a realistic setting. I liked how using Maggie added another dimension to portray the two and Maggie definitely added surprising comedy moments to the book! I felt the story was well paced, with a refreshingly unique storyline on what could be a typical plot and the dual points of views helped strengthen this story further. Although the characters have history, I liked how the author didn’t have them ’falling in love’ instantly, making the story more believable to the reader. Instead, the author showed well the frustrating and warring emotions both characters had towards each other as the story develops. I would definitely recommend you give this book a read.

The opposite of Wild. Brilliant book, encapsulates the true feelings and inhibitions of normal people who don't want to get hurt if they declare their love. A pity that the author had to emphasise the Jewishness, which almost amounted to racism. We all belong to the human race and have similar feelings, whatever race, religion or background.

An enjoyable read. Lighthearted, pleasant story with characters and situations that are relatable. Enough romance and life”s little twisty problems to keep you wanting to read more.

The Opposite of Wild. I enjoyed this romance. The characters are quirky and flawed and I think most of us can relate to at least one of them. Whether it is the quirky and outgoing grandmother, the solid and dependable Ryan, the over organised Liz or the wild and needs to grow up Daisy. There are lots of connections hinted at in this book and I look forward to reading more of the Clover Park series.

Terrible female protagonist. Well written text but the ideals and morals of the female protagonist gets on my nerves so I had to quit reading... when is it ok to judge and disapprove of a man's occupation? I know you want to portray this holier than thou character but jeez, disapproval of the man being a private investigator?! Get off your high horse! If this was a historical romance fair enough, but I am reading a modern romance novel right? Please have a thought for your next female "pro"

Opposite of Wild. My first read of Kylies books. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the characters and the storyline.

Romantic chick-lit.. Highly recommended for light reading. You will fall in love with Liz and Ryan. Can't wait to read the next book.

😀. Decent story, good read

Just beautiful. Christine 67 I totally loved this book First time I read this authors work and was not disappointed read it in a day , And the wording was just so pleasant , no swearing , no vulgar language that I find in most of the authors work that take away from the romance and actually make me skip the pages , just beautiful and the story you just find yourself captivated in the characters lives , ready to read daisy s and travis , story , can't wait

Heather. Loved Ryan & Liz, good read, Maggie is the greatest gran ever. Can't wait to start Trav & Daisy's story. Thoroughly enjoyable

Heart warming!. Sweet with a little sexy!!

Not bad. The beginning was nice but I was bored by the time it ended. Skipped so many pages.
