On The Rocks. This book is tame compared to some of the books this author has. It is still really good and I really enjoyed reading it. Sawyer Bennett has a way of building you up for the next series and this one definitely is no exception. I can’t wait to read Brody’s story.

Fell in love with Hunter and Gabby. This book was so good. Hunter is truly a stand p guy who has given up his surfing career to come back home and help his brother. Gabby is his sister Casey's best friend and has had a crush on Hunter forever. When she was 18 he crushed her crush on him. Five years later How will they react to being in the same town again.? Can Gabby keep up the hard feelings she has towards him? Find out when you read this book with characters that come to life as you read their story.

Make it a Double. Pour me another shot of Gabby and Hunter. They capture our attention and we pull for them to get together from the beginning. Sweet, hot and steamy all at the same time. A great read.

Resolving lost opportunities. Finally!! A female lead who doesn't fall for the standard plot twists! Gabby is smart and relatable. It's refreshing and wonderful to see a confident and intelligent woman in fiction!

Too much sex. Unless you want to read sex sex sex this book is not for you.

Could've been better. While the plot isn't bad the character gabby is a snotty little brat with a bad attitude. Her "snapping" all the time ruined the book for me.

I never leave a review on books I have read, however, I will definitely make an exception for this novel...it was ABSOLUTELY AN AMAZING STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND BEYOND SEXY BORDERING EROTIC TALE that will leave you wanting more from Miss Bennett. Wow, wow, wow...get it, read it, love it. Thank you for a great story that was fun, realistic and so hot!

Review: Last Call #1: On The Rocks. My rating: 5 of 5 stars On the Rocks by Sawyer Bennett is the first book in her Last Call series. It is a fast-paced, witty romance with a wonderfully snarky female lead and a perfectly alpha-yet-caring male lead. Gabby has pushed her life-long crush for Hunter way deep down after his crushing rejection five years ago, but now, the survival of her deceased father's construction company she now runs is relying on Hunters acceptance of her bid on the renovation of his new bar, Last Call. Hunter knows he hurt Gabby five years ago when he crushed her on her graduation night. He just never expected to want to kiss her back so badly or the depth of emotion she brought forth. She was his little sisters best friend and practically his sister, except, you don't feel this way about a sister. Now she's spent the past five years hating him and they've done nothing but argue. He wants her but cannot get past her anger at him. When he accepts her bid all bets are off. He is determined to break down her walls and she won't let them down, scared he's going to return to the pro-surfing circuit and leave her alone and broken-hearted again. This time, it would kill her. Awesome book - can't wait to hear Brody's story. The characters are well-developed, and you will find yourself wanting to drive to the Outer Banks to find this bar and hang out with these people.

Excellent read. I loved reading about this High school crush. The characters were fantastic and the story flowed and was interesting. The sex was hot. Happy ending.

Loved it!. After reading some negative reviews, I might have hesitated a bit to read this story. But, fortunately for me, I decided to give it a chance and read it anyway. Good read! I liked the characters, I liked the dialogue, and the story flowed well. It’s a feel good story with a reasonable resolution to the conflict. The H/h are refreshingly mature and worked through issues realistically, meaning without the extra angst some stories have just to extend the story.

Great read!. I love this book. I really got into the characters as if they were real people. It didn't seem hokey and the 'sexy millionaire' type of books that are more prominent these days. This is a sweet, yet still very sexy, book. Great read!

Just blah. The writing was just ok. I stopped the book half way through because I was so bored. It could be a good story but the dialogue isn't as good as what I'm used to.

It was okay. Easy read. Likable characters.. The story is written in both Gabby and Hunter's POV. I like there chemistry with one another. I like that Hunter made the initiative with Gabby and set her mind at ease. I like that Hunter make sure to reassure Gabby of his feelings for her. There's some good advice given by family and friends, but I keep waiting for something bad to happen. It's going to good at the moment and even though they have proclaimed there love for each other I'm not sure it's enough. When Hunters dreams and Gabby's dreams lead to different paths will there love be able to withstand the time apart? Well that's a first. Gabby is smart enough not to believe Sasha. Hunter is smart enough not to believe Gabby. Hunter gets to make his own decision regarding surfing without the pressure of his family, agent, or girlfriend. That is a refreshing change in a story. Everything that typically keeps people from staying together does not happen in this one. Which is good for them. Overall it was on okay story. The characters were likable.

Unexpected turns. Many points in this book I thought it was going to be like so many others, but this book managed to be refreshing the whole way through. Gabbys a smart lady!

Romantic. Loved this story. It was a very easy and enjoyable read. I really liked the characters and am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. The love between Hunter and Gabby is something every woman wants.

Loved. I'm a huge Sawyer Bennett fan and this book did not disappoint. This story follows professional surfer Hunter (World #2) and his sister's best friend Gabby, who has crushed on him all her teenage life. At the age of 18 Gabby puts herself out there and Hunter pretty much shoots her down, right before he sets off to travel the world surfing. Fast forward 5 years and Hunter returns home, hey presto, who knew it, they're attracted to each other, there are however lots of obstacles in the way of their HEA, ex girlfriends, the urge (or not) for Hunter to go on tour again, gabby's stubborn nature. Can they choose each other? Does love conquer all? Loved the story, loved the writing (dual POV, my favourite), and both Gabby and Hunter are sizzling hot together. Can't wait to get stuck into the rest of the series.

Definitely worth your time. Of course there's a happy ending... But on the way there, there is a little of everything in this book. Well written and a very enjoyable storyline. Great characters.

Loved it. I make no secret of the fact that i love Sawyer's books but i did wonder how On The Rocks would compare to The Off Series. No worries there this book did not disappoint. Hunter Markham is a world class surfer and he has returned home to open and run a beach bar called Last Call with his twin brother Brody. When he left 5 years ago he broke his sister's best friend Gabby Ward's heart by dismissing a kiss. Gabby Ward is now running her late fathers construction company and if she wants the business to go forward she needs to bid on the refit of Last Call. Can she work with Hunter without feeling the pain of her broken heart. Can this just be business Both fight their attraction for each other until fate takes a hand with a broken down car in the rain Hunter- " I figured out that you and I ...that we're going to happen no matter what" Gabby- The minute he utters those words i know they're true. What follows is a passionate love affair with twists and turns as people from Hunter's past come back into their life's. Does Hunter want to compete again? Can he rely on Brody to run Last Call ? Brody has his own problems in his life and he has made it clear he does not want to be a partner Does Gabby have the right to make the choice for him ? i guess you will need to read the book to get the full story ....... i have no doubt that this series will be as big as The Off Series is and i can't wait to read Brody's Story 1 like ·
