Imago by Celina Grace Book Summary

"They don't fear me, quite the opposite. It makes it twice as fun… I know the next time will be soon, I've learnt to recognise the signs. I think I even know who it will be. She's oblivious of course, just as she should be. All the time, I watch and wait and she has no idea, none at all. And why would she? I'm disguised as myself, the very best disguise there is."

A known prostitute is found stabbed to death in a shabby corner of Abbeyford. Detective Sergeant Kate Redman and her partner Detective Sergeant Olbeck take on the case, expecting to have it wrapped up in a matter of days. Kate finds herself distracted by her growing attraction to her boss, Detective Chief Inspector Anderton – until another woman's body is found, with the same knife wounds. And then another one after that, in a matter of days.

Forced to confront the horrifying realisation that a serial killer may be preying on the vulnerable women of Abbeyford, Kate, Olbeck and the team find themselves in a race against time to unmask a terrifying murderer, who just might be hiding in plain sight…

Imago (A Kate Redman Mystery: Book 3) is the third in the Kate Redman Mysteries series, by bestselling crime writer Celina Grace, author of Hushabye, Requiem and Lost Girls.

Imago. Loved the book, love the series....

Imago. It was a quick read and very enjoyable. As an English teacher I was annoyed by all the spelling mistakes! Talk to ‘your people’!

Imago. In this book we take an unusual step in personal relationships. Not too unsuspected by some of what was disclosed in book 2. The mystery itself was utterly gruesome, but a fair representation of reality being brought to light in a good book. The mystery in this book, with a bizarre criminal committing despicable crimes, ended with an unexpected finish. As with the previous books in this series, Ms Grace presented the story here with the same "I can't put it down" writing she is so good at. Now, with all the characters being familiar to readers of this series, we must wait and see what develops between them in book #4. RET. LT.

Well-crafted and compelling. If you like police procedurals (and I do) or British detectives (and I do) or smart female cops (I do, I do) - you'll love this book (and I do). The plot was tight and the ending a surprise. Kate Redman is a sympathetic character with an interesting backstory, and her colleagues provide context and texture to the story line. This is the book that turned me into a Celina Grace fan and avid reader, so enjoy!

Imago. Imago is another great read, with characters as believable as people you might meet every day. Good plot that will keep you thinking.

The author keeps getting better!. This is book three. This was better than the first two. The characters are established now, but the plot was more calculated and had me surprised to the very end. A fun read and a quick read. The characters are plausible and interesting. Nice movement. I didn't get bored and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will continue with the series and look forward to the next book!

Imago. Good story, but quite a few miss-spelled words, still worth the read.

A nice surprise.. I was looking for something to read for bedtime... the title caught my eye but I didn't recognize the author. I was skeptical, but started reading. And I ended up staying up all night reading! Such a wonderful surprise! It's a smooth read and good story. Looking forward to reading more of her work.

Imago. Loving Kate Redman. Great fast pace & I love it when I can't figure out the ending until I'm reading it!

Imago. Wow. Good sequel to the two earlier books. Enjoyed it. But.... had wanted more on the relationship between Kate and her boss.

Exciting from the first page!. Never dull, hard to put down and with a twist you won’t see coming! Likeable , real characters and you’ll want to read more in this series.

Imago. I liked the pace of the story and found it hard to put down.

Language. I don't like Fword and this had several.

Great series. I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series and looking forward to reading more from this author.

Imago. Easy read with good characters and surprise twist.

Good mystery. Kept me interested all the way through. Good lead character, even if sometimes I wanted her to be a bit more assertive and a little less worried about her boss as a new romantic interest. Kate is a strong character, I sort of wanted her to make him feel apprehensive about what can happen next, and worried if she might think he's overstepped his bounds instead of the other way round. I'm rather hoping to find out where that situation winds up in the next book! I highly recommend this book in the series, along with Hushabye by the same author. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series. My only gripe is the dozen or so errors/typos that need fixed. A couple of examples are using the word hear when here is the correct spelling, and one character actually "heard found" something. I'm still confused about that one. Errors break the flow of a well written tale, and this story deserves good flow.

Hushabye. Celina Green does a superb job of introducing Kate Redman in this wonderfully written Murder/Mystery series. Her characters are so beautifully written and so realistic I felt like I knew them. In "Hushabye" Kate must adapt quickly to her new job in a new city with new coworkers. A baby has been kidnapped, the nanny murdered and the clock is ticking. They all know the longer the baby is missing the possibility of a happy ending diminishes. The mother is distraught, the father rather detached, and Kate has her own demons to battle. An excellent mystery that I throughly enjoyed reading. In fact I started on book two "Requiem" as soon as I finished "Hushabye". I highly recommend anyone that loves murder/mysteries to read this book. And the next one. And the one after that.

Siren. Great book

Imago. Was guessing all the way through!

Dire. So obvious.. Immediately guessed 'whodunnit' straight after the very obvious reference to an object. Yawn. Very formulaic. Disappointing.

Imago.. Thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish. Fast paced.... Kept me guessing until the end. Highly recommended.

Great Read. This is the third Celena Grace/ Kate Redman book I have read and have enjoyed every one of them. I can thoroughly recommend them.

Imago. Have really enjoyed this book. Loves getting to know Kate and the people she works with. Looking forward to reading the rest in the series.

Imago. A very good read and just as well written as the others in the series.

Imago. Loved the book and what a swell ending just brilliant

Suspenseful end. It kept me guessing all the way through - great ending!

Imago. Love this kind of writing, a good story from start to finish. A lot of writers pad out their books with a good deal of unnecessary boring tripe, not this one.

Great Read. Good storyline and fast-paced. The ending was unexpected.

Imago. Very well written book. It kept me at the edge of my seat without letting up throughout the whole book. A real whodunit!

Imago. Love story or murder mystery? Very hurried ending. Good potential.

Amazing. As always fantastic. Loved this book, couldn’t put it down. Definitely a not to be missed read. Jackie T

Imago. Another romance novel in disguise as a thriller. Not good enough characterization - too many instances where the subject does stupid, implausible thoughts and actions. Nearly tossed it a couple of times but thought I would persist until the end. I see potential for the writer if she would tighten up the story line. Don’t think I will read any more from this author.

Scary story!. I liked the story even though I found it frightening! The characters seemed like real people. I might consider reading another tale by this author!

Requiem. Exciting
