Great Film Activity. I was looking for a new idea for a film making lesson for my middle school students - something meaningful, but that would not require weeks of time to complete. This wonderful book provided everything we needed for a complete lesson. Students downloaded the book into iBooks on our Macs that served as reference during the lesson. The student examples in the book provided great inspiration as exemplars.

Brilliant concept. Don Goble's Six Word Story concept is as brilliant as it is simple. As a former Film teacher, I used it and found that my students expressed themselves in ways they hadn't before. One student who was the product of divorce expressed disappointment in his father with the following Six Word Story: "He's not here. I'm not surprised." His story was inspiring, heartbreaking, moving, and motivating. It's the rare activity that teaches more than one or two critical skills: narrative construction, Freytag's Pyramid, shot selection, and more. I cannot recommend the book or the activity strongly enough.
