This book was a mystery from the very first page until the very last.. "The monsters we can't see are the scariest ones of all.” “I spent the first eighteen years of my life with the parents who tried to shelter me from the harsh reality of my existence.” The story follows Alex, a girl who doesn’t go out in the daylight due in part to a medical condition that leaves her skin discolored, as well being brought up in home where she was sheltered. She was trained to fight and take care of herself by her father, and cast aside by her mother. She moves out on her own and works nights at a convenience store, gas station. “Then one night, I hear and see something that will change my purpose in life... forever: a murder that will bring him to me.” She meets Daimon, who is elusive, mysterious, and quite possibly dangerous. He says he is a detective, but Alex is not quite sure. He gets under Alex’s skin, and she can’t stop thinking about him. Their chemistry is great between Alex, and Daimon. Daimon is so mysterious and sensual. The sex scenes were titillating. This book was full of suspense, twists, turns and some very steamy scenes. It is very different from other books by Cassia. I loved it and the ending left me wanting to know what happened next. I was a bit worried at first by one of the sex scenes, when Alex wanted to be taken forcefully. I wasn’t sure why it was put in and at first I was going to stop reading. I am glad I continued as it made sense near the ending of the book.

Wicked Read. Wow, this was a wicked physiological ride! The plot was so intriguing with the female lead being so mysterious and hidden about her life and how she saw herself and those around her, the male lead was very mysterious often leading the reader to wonder his intentions. Was not expecting the erotic romance that took place that's for sure! Goodness the end of the book as well was a massive mind puller! Wicked, wicked read.

Intense!!. It was a good book can't wait for volume 2. Didn't much like the ending though!!!

Never ending twists & turns. There were so many twists and turns that it kept my interest till the end. The one problem I have is with the way she ended her relationship with the mystery man, it was the one fly in the pudding. I finished it with more questions than answers.

LOVE!. I loved this! Such a good story, seriously can't wait for volume 2!
