The 13th Gift by Joanne Huist Smith Book Summary

For readers of Richard Paul Evans and Greg Kincaid comes The 13th Gift, a heartwarming Christmas story about how a random act of kindness transformed one of the bleakest moments in a family's history into a time of strength and love.

After the unexpected death of her husband, Joanne Huist Smith had no idea how she would keep herself together and be strong for her three children--especially with the holiday season approaching. But 12 days before Christmas, presents begin appearing on her doorstep with notes from their "True Friends." As the Smiths came together to solve the mystery of who the gifts were from, they began to thaw out from their grief and come together again as a family. This true story about the power of random acts of kindness will warm the heart, a beautiful reminder of the miracles of Christmas and the gift of family during the holiday season.

The 13th Gift. Great book. I think the gift giving is perfect way too honor a love one.

Joy to read even in summer.. This story is uplifting and joyful anytime of the year. I couldn’t stop reading it. It was a pleasure to read through this book and it teaches you about the human spirit and sharing. Loved it.

The 13th Gift. Beautifully written and perfect for the season of giving.

Hopeful beyond. My children lost their father last year. I honestly did not know how we would get through. I started this book with no hope of finishing with all my emotions and worries. Just reading this supported my healing to hope and I was pleasantly surprised we all make a huge difference when we care beyond and love with no boundaries.

A Pause for a Cause. What an inspiring book! It not only dealt with grief, but also the act of giving of gifts and of yourself. Putting someone else first rather than dwelling on your problems or issues is something most people do not do. Giving of your means or of yourself not only makes one feel good, it can also change the the receiver way of thinking as well. I really didn't want the book to end. I wanted more. Thank you Joanne Huist Smith for writing this book.

5star rating. What a wonderful story. The true meaning of the Christmas spirit. Thank goodness for strangers. Thank you for sharing.

The Thirteenth Gift. What an awesome and inspiring Christmas story!!!
