Good listen. This was smart and funny. All the classic teenage angst growing into adulthood. I think women can't help but write what they wish men would think, but men are a little more simply driven and less considerate. So I get a little "yeah right" on some of it. But the author's sense of humor is great.

Love it!!. This book was slightly cliché sometimes but it was pretty great. I was very emotional and read it all in one day!!! Definitely a must read

Stayed up all night. Couldn't put it down! It had me laughing. It had me crying and clutching my chest because my heart ached for Elec and Greta. They are amazing characters. You will not be disappointed in reading this truly amazing and captivating love story. Worth every penny and then some!!

A great taboo cliche. I skipped past this book several times while hunting for proper smut. I finally caved after seeing it recommended so often. It did not disappoint! Yes, it’s a cringey overplayed cliche of a story line but the author spins this very well. The character development is fantastic and you fall in love with main characters pretty fast. It’s a quick read with plenty of down low tingles and a couple of hot scenes. Over all it’s not back to back pages of non stop smut. It’s a slow build but definitely worth the wait!! 4 out of 5 stars because I wanted for smut lol

Stepbrother dearest. How to begin? For first, I think the name of the book does not justify the quality of this novel. I was expecting an usual romance story and found a spectacular book. I read it the same day, couldn't put it down. I went through an emotional roller coaster and the story twisted was totally unexpected. This is my first book of this author and I definetely will look for other books of her. Excellent story, great characters, excellent writing.

No good. Maybe I missed something?? I rarely start a book without finishing it but I can’t with this book. Very confusing.

Stepbrother love it!. This book was fantastic! I loved it! The characters have depth and are smart. The author makes you feel all of these emotions; sadness, happiness, and anger! Good writer! What I liked best was this is a stand alone book and not 1 of 2 or some tiring series. Kudos to the author on a good book!

I could not put this book down I read it in less then a day it will put you through every emotion from happiness sadness, anger and many times frustration and not short of laughter either the way Penelope Ward was able to captivate you into feeling everything the characters are feeling is incredible Loved this book

Pleasantly surprised. I went into this book not knowing quite what to think or expect. But Greta and Elec were a pleasant surprise. I was immediacy sucked into their world and seemingly felt all they felt. When Greta's heart was crushed so was mine. When Elec was struggling so was I. Loved their banter in the beginning, their confusion in the middle, their love, their heartbreak, and their ultimate ending.

Very repetetive. This is by far my least favorite of Penelope’s books that I have read so far. The second half was particularly hard to get through because at one point the female main character, Greta, reads a book written by the male main character, Elec. The “book” recounts most of what you have already read, coming from his perspective so it felt very repetitive. I do very highly recommend When August Ends and The Day He Came back.

Wow is right!. I could not put this book down. I love when a great book makes me laugh while reading it and this one did just that. I loved the realistic love story between Elec and Greta but the twist in the relationship between Elec and Randy was truly epic. I totally did not see that coming at all which made the book even better. I won't give the details away but I would highly recommend reading this book for yourself you will not be disappointed.

Just the right amount of everything.. ___________________________ Positives: I recently got into more “Taboo” types of books and I wasn’t sure when I first saw this book and what it’s about, if I would like or not. Well I don’t like it... I F***ING LOVE IT! I don’t this expected anything except the hope for them to be together in the end. The way she always used his story a his point of view was perfectly written. This book made me scream, cry, gasp, smile, laugh a lot, and overall so happy. It says everything up and end everything in a nice pretty bod made of panties... you won’t get it until you read it. And it has nothing to even do with all the sex they have haha! Which was also a plus because it wasn’t cheesy sex either. Every page had good detail and dialogue. You felt their emotions and you felt everything as if it was your life in the book. Definitely recommend for anyone! 5 Star. Negatives: Near the end I felt it was almost written in a rush. There dialogue stopped have details in between like the rest of the book had and it felt like a rushed ending. It’s definitely worth the read. I’m honestly breathless. I was expecting a smut book but instead I found a true gem. Literally just a diamond sitting among all the dirty little books. It was so good I stayed up all night to finish it and I haven’t done that in a very long time with a book. The best part is that it was all tied up in a neat bow with book 1. You will not regret reading this. The author is absolutely genius.

I can't stand all the fake reviews it's so hard to tell if I'm just being tricked into buying a good book or one that has great reviews because ppl manipulate the ratings somehow, but.... This is truly a great book! As I wrote in my title it was almost as good as my favorite romance book Thoughtless. I only wish it was longer I would have loved to read a sequel.

Gorgeous. I've read more of these books than I care to admit, but I can honestly say this is one of my favorites. It was heart wrenching in parts, and hilarious in others. A truly unique story line complete with a clever way to understand Elec's POV through his autobiography. I just loved it!

Fell in love with Elec. I don't usually read but oh my god, downloaded the first 72 pages and was hook. Had to buy the rest of the book and couldn't stop. I could just visualise each character as if they were real. I genuinely thought it was a real story, I'm now in love with Elec 💦

OMG!. Absolutely loved this read. Was a bit sceptical at first as I had never read any of this authors books before, went on a review from Natasha is a book junkie. Bought as a holiday read, I was totally blown away, could not put this read down and was resorted to reading at 3 in the morning just to find out what would happen! If you never read anything else you MUST read this I laughed, cried and was an emotional wreck at the end! Wow!. It was my first experience with Penelope's books and I have to say it was a great one! I was unable to stop reading it, I spent two days entangled in Greta and Elec's story.

Not so great. The story was ok... But pretty predictable. The truly annoying part was the book from Elec towards the end..... There was maybe two or three parts that I didn't know about the story, and the rest was pages and pages of what I had just read.... It lost me there.... I couldn't wait to finish the book and get it over with. I'd say this book is more for teenagers. Sorry.

This was the most unassuming read, I love all of Penelope’s books, however this book has been an unexpected favourite, I loved the characters and the way the story revealed their history and how they came to be, it kept you guessing till the very end. This book is a must read, so well written, it is a true unconventional love story (5 stars)

Elec & Greta. I enjoyed the story of Elec and Greta and recommend. There were parts I laughed out loud at and parts that made me cry. My heart broke for Elec and everything he went through in his life when his past was finally revealed. It was great seeing them come together, no matter how much time passed.
