Beautiful. Best book I've read in a long time! If you're looking for another story similar I recommend A Thousand Nights by E.K Johnston, it's not as romantic but is still beautiful and poetic. I love this book so much and cannot wait for the sequel!

My expectations were high and Ahdieh still blew them away!. So, I don’t know where to begin. It’s a cross between 1001 nights and Beauty & the Beast (I know they are kind of the same story already but this gave off distinct vibes from both). I LOVE both of those stories and have probably consumed every piece of media based off of them that exists, so trust me when I say that this is definitely one of the best! The characters are very real in the sense that they aren’t purely good or purely bad and none of the, ever claim to be either. Ahdieh did an incredible job handling the development of the characters so that you can see their perspectives changing slowly and fluidly. Also, it’s surprisingly deep for a YA romance. She forces you to ask yourself: is it okay to do objectively bad things for objectively good reasons? And does it really matter? Do our past mistakes define us? The characters all have some kind of guilt that affects their self-worth and are struggling to define good vs. evil throughout the story. Also the romance is great, but if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t enjoy fairy tail romance, try not to be a hater. Anyways, thank you Renée Ahdieh! You’re a genius!

A gem of a story. Rarely ever do I review a book, by this book is too intoxicating not to. You're pulled further and further into this book with every word you read. It's remarkable and I highly recommend it to anyone. You're quite disappointed this book ends, but thankfully there's a sequel coming.

Great read!. I think what really sets this book apart most is its unique setting. The storyline is not really anything new, but every detail is described so beautifully that you feel like you are there with the characters. Can't wait for the next one!!!

Cliffhanger of heartbreak. With hopes of them finding love I find my dreams crushed as I search for more of this marvelous gripping story that held me so closely until the too short end full of unanswered questions.

Enjoyable. I purchased this book after reading other reviews that this book was better than ACOTAR which is one of the best books ever!! Though it had many interesting characters I didn't connect with any of them and it wasn't a page turner for me. I guess all the action is reserved for the next book which I am sure to read. Even though it wasn't as intense as ACOTAR, I still recommend it as an enjoyable read.

The Wrath & The Dawn’s Beauty. Where do I start? This book is absolutely spectacular! The way Renée Ahdieh has vividly described the details from the food’s aromas to the sequences on the dresses is amazing. I tried reading the original Arabian Nights and it was a difficult read, then I saw this book gaining popularity. So I was like, “Why not, it’s probably a time-pass read” but I was so wrong. This is so much more than “just a read”. I have now read this book for the fourth time and it just gets more captivating, adventures, and different every time I read it. Hence, thank you Renée Ahdieh for providing us with such a romantic, extraordinary, and beautiful book!

Biting and Brilliant. Renee Ahdieh has created a believable world with magical fringes. From the protagonist’s silver tongue to the savagery of mankind, this moving tale is smart and stirring. Brilliant.

AMAZING. My entire life of reading of YA I’ve seen a spiral of the same things, but this stops the spiral and creates its own beautiful pattern. It shows incredible designs of fashion,belief,love from an entire different world then I’m used to. I’ve repeatedly read this book/series,and I’m always amazed and loving every perspective. The author is incredibly talented.

Phenomenal. This book is so amazing. Although the beginning is a bit difficult with the names and foreign words, as the story develops and the plot thickens, you get to know each character on a deep level and the words add culture and even more interest. Shazhrad’s character is dynamic: humorous, strong, and complex. There is a love triangle, but Adieh stretches and twists it into something new. I could go on and on about this book. I HIGHLY recommend it. Great read the first, second, third, and fourth time!

Excellent!!!!. What a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this great tale. Highly recommend!! I have seen in some reviews that this book is categorized as YA. I'm 47 and this is one of my top 10 of all time.

BEAUTIFUL. I was hit right in the feelings with this one with its literary goodness. The end had me curled into a ball, desperately needing more. I’m beyond excited for the sequel!!

Beautifully tragic. Their love was fraught with so much hate, too many obstacles, but such a worthy and beautiful hope that was fragile yet deep. This story, at times, wrenched at my heart because of the constant inner struggle that the two main characters has to battle with throughout the book. Such a fairytale that had vestiges of the Aladdin story, but very sad and raw. Great book! Now I am going to jump to the second book.

AWESOME!. Definitely must read. Can't wait to continue with the second book!
