Code of Conduct by Brad Thor Book Summary

“Thor tops himself again and again.” —Bookreporter
“Feels like the TV show 24 on the page.” —Associated Press

#1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor presents his greatest thriller ever—an action-packed literary tour de force!

Hidden deep within one of the world’s most powerful organizations is a secret committee with a devastating agenda. Its members are afforded incredible protections—considered elites, untouchables.

But when four seconds of video is captured halfway around the world and anonymously transmitted to DC, covert wheels are set in motion, and counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath is tapped to undertake the deadliest assignment of his career.

What begins as a favor will evolve into a globe-spanning drama of highly personal stakes played out against a backdrop of stunning international intrigue, duplicitous political gamesmanship, and the darkest, most clandestine fears of the espionage world.

With razor-sharp plotting, richly rendered characters, and heart-stopping surprises on every page, Thor isn’t just at the top of his game—he owns the entire genre.

I'm Not a Critic. I don't have the refined taste of some reviewers. All I know is that I enjoyed the read, from beginning to end, and was thoroughly entertained.

Fantastic from start to finish!. Best one yet Brad Thor. I couldn't put this one down. I lived in Angola for 3 years so I could finally relate 100% to what Scot and the team was experiencing. I really enjoyed the relation to current world issues of over population and environmental devastation. Keep rockin Brad and I'll keep reading!!!

Code of conduct. Different for Thor but couldn't put down.😵

Nice!. Nice!

Code to f conduct. I have read a few of the Harvath books and enjoyed them. However this one was a slow story that was to political. Meaning to much time spent setting up the reasons behind the plot. The ending was rushed and haphazard. All in all I had a hard time finishing this book. To be honest my motivation was to see how he was going to finish it in the remaining 20 pages..

Great read. Keep it up Brad! Love the books. Keep them coming.

Good book. This book is decent. I will recommend others to read this book. What bothered me a bit about this book is that the action took a while to start but other than that I enjoyed reading this book

Brad Thor has done it again. Every time I read the next book in the series, the writing and plots are taken to even greater heights. This book is a great read!

They keep getting better. Brad Thor's adventures of Scot Harvath keep getting better and better. "Code of Conduct" is the best so far. Keep 'em coming.

Once again, great. Thanks for continuing to entertain as you raise awareness.

A bit over the top. But an extremely entertaining read nonetheless. Highly recommended!!!

Code of Conduct. The world is a safer place for Freedom with Brad Thor on point. It is comforting to know that he also has my six!

Stellar!. Really really liked that this one - kept me wondering how the virus came into play until the very end. It made it really interesting. I liked the way the story flowed even if it did take a bit to get going. It did feel a bit slow at the beginning and I felt it took them too long to discover there was a virus to begin with, but it ended pretty well. Would have liked to see Damien killed in a different way, seemed too simple for what he had committed but nonetheless finding him somewhat made up for that. Still felt a bit rushed towards the end as well. Helena’s story just dropped and I didn’t like that part being that she was a key player as well as Mordechai. Overall very well done, just think it should’ve been a bit longer given the characters involved!

Very Scary. This book was written in 2015. I read in 2023. Having lived through the Covid-19 Pandemic and seeing what Thor wrote about almost ten years is scary. This has happened and can happen. One of his best in the series. Some of the plot I wish he expounded on and not just give me a few sentences about advancing it. I wanted to hear more of the story.

Great book!. I started reading this book slowly, mainly because I didn't want to finish it quickly. Like all of Brad's books, it's entertaining plus educational at the same time. As soon as you are halfway through the book, you will find yourself reading too late into the night to put down! Great job Brad and thanks for the education elements along the way!

Brad Thor at his worst!. I downloaded the book with high anticipation of another phenomenal Scot Horvath caper . . and how disappointed I was! The book is without a doubt the worst I've read by Brad Thor. The plot is slow, the new set of characters are bland, and the normal high-paced action thriller that I'm use from Thor is non-existent. Don't waste your time or your money on this one.

A trip to the edge. I am terrible about rating anyone's work. When it comes to the written word there are far better writers than me. I have been on more adventures with Scot Harvath, the main character, than I can remember. Suffice to say Brad Thor has weaved another tale that holds you from page 1 thru the entire book. Sometimes the plots are far fetched, that is, until the unravel before you and you are caught up and can't stop reading far into the night. In short, if you want to travel to Africa, Europe and far across the globe with one of the most likable, flawed character that you will grow a friendship with then I suggest you get started you won't be disappointed.

Mediocre Thriller Cluttered with Anti-Government Rhetoric. Well, I read the book in two days but only because I skipped over all of the government bashing rhetoric. That eliminated at least 150 pages. Definitely won't be reading this author again. I'll just turn on Fox News if I find myself in the mood for a whole lot of whining about the US government interspersed with some fictional stories.

Great Read. Typical Brad - fast moving, throughly enjoyable,a great way to spend a weekend at the beach!

Code of Conduct. A very bad read. Plot is not realistic and the character development poor. Poorly written book.

One of the Best Summer Reads. Gripping, realistic, scary, wrapped into one wild ride. This was a great read by one of America's greatest contemporary writers.

Scary how true this could be. I’ve read all of the Scot Harvath novels up to this one and was honestly scared at how ‘real’ this situation felt…especially after COVID. I just hope we have actual Scot Harvath’s amongst us to protect us.

Code of Contact. Good book, fast paced, keeps the reader from putting the book down.

Boring and Needlessly political. I have long been a fan of Brad Thor's thrillers but lately have seen a slide towards mediocrity and lightly veiled right wing politics and propaganda. What used to be seat of the pants action is now boring trite formulaic and now political ranting.

Great Read. As usual I could not put the latest Brad Thor novel down, he painted a perfect picture within e wry chapter allowing you you visualize what was happening throughout the book. I have read every book that Brad has published and this continues his outstanding series. This is a must read and hopefully a movie at some point.

Code of Conduct. Fantastic read! Couldn't put it down. Have been enjoying the Scot Harvath adventures since the beginning. Look forward to many more.

Great. Very timely with the events of the past 9 months.

Fast-paced suspense. I downloaded this to read while on vacation at the beach, which I'm glad I did, otherwise I would've missed work to keep on reading! It was hard to put down and I finished it in 2 days. The descriptions and details put you right in the middle of the action. The suspense keeps you turning the page, and the plot is not only terrifying - it's believable. Those who have commented negatively about the book being a bunch of right-wing ranting need to get their heads out of the sand and start paying attention to what's really going on in the world. Although this book is a work of fiction, it's well researched...and it leaves the reader thankful that there are real people who fight for our safety and stand up to evil every day.

Code of Conduct. Philosophical conundrums better handlded by Dan Brown, actiion character better handled by Lee Childs. Lots of sophomoric dialogue and half baked characters. Plot runs out of steam and sputters to unsatisfactory ending with too many loose ends.

Code Of Conduct. As usual once you start reading a Brad Thor book there is no putting it down till the very end! Brad never disappoints his readers. Fast paced yet Scott comes through as a real person, and definitely one you want on your side. Love this book.

Code of conduct. First of all what's with f the word that rhymes with truck? All that plus all the violence? Violence this story really went too far over the top.

Brad's best to date! I see better in the future.. I've read every book Brad had written. They just keep getting better and better. If I have any criticism it's that it ended too fast. Maybe you could write a two volume story next. I'd pre-buy the second. Thanks for a great read.

Great read!. Enjoyed the book.

Disappointed former fan. I have read all of Thor's books but this will be my last. Too much right wing rants and UN bashing. Save it for Fox News.

Code of conduct. Good read

Too close to factual for some. Despite being a great read, it seems to have stirred up all of the ( living in moms basement progressive twitterheads)! Come on y'all that lens you see the world through controls you! This is a fantastic read and much of the content in this work of fiction is probably factual! One of Brads best!!

Great Read. As usual, Thor does a great job. Enjoyed this from the beginning.

Code of Conduct. The only thing I didn't like about it was the amount of time that disappeared after I picked up this book!

Code of Conduct. Great book, keep me going until the very end. I look forward to the next Brad Thor to come out.

A great read. As always, Brad Thor delivers a great read in The Code of Conduct. Scot Harvath and his group have been tested time and time again, coming through for the people they protect. The story line is chilling, to say the least. You won't regret getting this one. I couldn't put it down.

Same plot. Different author.. A basic retread of books by numerous thriller authors about a cabal, which uses US government officials and international bad guys to create bio-weapons to reduce global population and establish a global nation state. Thor even throws in a retread from “Black List” where Harvath finds himself on a US government hit list AGAIN.

Scary prophetic in 2021!. Creepy insightful and prophetic as we learn more about the current bureaucracy and it’s roll in the pandemic of 2020.

Code of conduct. Sub par Different story line for Thor, but similar to other novels with eugenics themes, same ending unfortunately with the same knock em out in 20 pages ending...while satisfying, repetitive and predictable...enjoyed all the previous books but was left with nothing new in this thriller...I love his books but was left feeling disappointed ... I hate that, was hoping for something new.

Code of Conduct. I could not put this book down. I have been a Scot Horvath fan from my first encounter with the books in this series.

Code of conduct. The 5th Brad Thor novel I have read and they keep getting better. It took 3 rides on my stationary bike to finish. I can't wait for the next one!

Amazing. My only thought at the end was..."that's the end?, I have to wait how long for the next one?" Ugh! Brad Thor knocks it out of the park again with this one. Don't take this as your only book on vacation, because you will be done too soon, it's that good.

Hard to Stop Reading!. This is a perfect thriller to take to the beach. It is a non-stop action ride right to its very end. Is it a classic? No! Does it grip the reader and hold their interest? Most definitely!

Brad Thor..Code of Conduct. Brad continues to put out great thrillers... His detail is excellent... Keeps you on the edge of you IPad, Andriod or what ever you use...look forward to the next one...

Code of Conduct. Not as bad as some reviews, but not his best work. Enjoyed the suspense and easy to follow in like the last boos I read by another Brad writer. Read it and judge for yourself.
