The #1 Bestseller!

From #1 Bestselling author Morgan Rice comes a sweeping new epic fantasy series: RISE OF THE DRAGONS (KINGS AND SORCERERS—Book 1).

Kyra, 15, dreams of becoming a famed warrior, like her father, even though she is the only girl in a fort of boys. As she struggles to understand her special skills, her mysterious inner power, she realizes she is different than the others. But a secret is being kept from her about her birth and the prophecy surrounding her, leaving her to wonder who she really is.

Just as Kyra is coming of age, the local lord comes to take her away. Her father wants to wed her off to save her. Kyra, though, refuses, and she quests on her own, into a dangerous wood, where she encounters a wounded dragon—and ignites a series of events that will change the kingdom forever.

15 year old Alec, meanwhile, sacrifices for his brother, taking his place in the draft, and is carted off to The Flames, a wall of flames a hundred feet high that wards off the army of Trolls to the east. On the far side of the kingdom, Merk, a mercenary striving to leave behind his dark past, quests through the wood to become a Watcher of the Towers and help guard the Sword of Fire, the paranormal source of the kingdom’s power. But the Trolls want the Sword, too—and they prepare for a massive invasion that could destroy the kingdoms forever.

With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, RISE OF THE DRAGONS is a sweeping, romantic saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, action, adventure, destiny, sorcery, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, of ambition and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders.

Book #2 in KINGS AND SORCERERS is also now available!

“RISE OF THE DRAGONS succeeds—right from the start…. A superior fantasy…It begins, as it should, with one protagonist's struggles and moves neatly into a wider circle of knights, dragons, magic and monsters, and destiny.…All the trappings of high fantasy are here, from soldiers and battles to confrontations with self….A recommended winner for any who enjoy epic fantasy writing fueled by powerful, believable young adult protagonists.”

A must read. Riveting from the very beginning. A must read.

Best book I’ve read!. This is by far the best book I’ve read! I’ve been so immersed into it that I finished it in 3 days! Though I do have school so I read when I can. I thought the character development was very nicely laid out. I don’t know what else to say except that if you like dragons and war you’re going to love this book! Believe me, when I say it’s an awesome book that I couldn’t put down my phone! I’ve already bought the second book and can’t wait to see what happens next!

Stolen Book. Not sure how to contact someone about this but this is an awesome story, but I read it on the AnyStory app before I realized it might be stolen. Someone going by the name Clara Zoe is being paid for a story called Through the Flame: Dragon’s Calling. The story is word for word the same story except they changed all the character names. I hope that if this is a stolen story someone who can fix this and hold people responsible sees this because stealing someone’s work is the lowest of the low.

Must read!. The book Rise of the Dragons shows how a heroine named Kyra wants to find more about herself. I noticed a little bit of repeated quotes like “ her heart was thumping wildly in her chest” or “ she just stood there, petrified with terror.” But other than that the book was great!

Worth the read a good book.. Good book. Have been looking for a good read for a while and am happy to say I have found one.

Great book. Great book

Average at best is about what to expect.. This book is ok. That’s about it. I was shocked to see this from an author that has published other books. I realize now it’s a book for young adults. Apparently that means don’t bother editing the book. I mean there are several hundred grammatical errors, mostly tense and conjugation problems. There are also a lot of errors where you can see they rewrote parts but didn’t take enough care to reread it once to find extra words and the like. It’s pretty obvious that the author never read their work through even once after scribing it. The book has no editor. If someone was paid for that job they are incompetent or criminally lazy. If you read past all that the story is just empty. Not much character development. Not much great to say about it at all. I’d say if you are over 10 years old don’t bother. If your kids are under 10, don’t let them try to learn English from this. Buy a book from someone who cares st least a little.

Rise of the Dragons Book 1. Great book

Boook was amazing 🤩. This book was amazing😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Awesome book!. This book was a page turner keeping me enthralled the whole way through this adventure. Can’t wait to read the next.

Excellent story!. I found once I started reading I couldn’t stop and if I did I couldn’t wait to read more.

Rise of the dragon. The most interesting book I’ve ever read and it makes me feel good in side when I read these books there awsome for kids that believe in fairy tails and I really wonder what the author was thinking when he rote this book👦🏿

Great fantasy book!. I have not read a book in years but finally decided to get back into it. Best book I’ve ever read. If you love the game of thrones genre then you will love this book.

Rise of the Dragons. Amazing book! Held me transfixed from the first page to the last and eagerly awaiting the next! Pure joy.

Rise of the dragons. Good fantasy story telling with page turning action and great characters

Rise of the Dragons by Morgan Rice. This book was fairly well written. Each character developed nicely, which makes for an easy read. Morgan developed a gradual build to a nice climax leaving me wanting more. I will be reading the next book shortly.

Good story idea, poorly written. The story line is interesting, however, there are so many typos and errors that distract readers. Not including who/what the heroine is was a mistake, just a ploy to sell the next book. Sorry, not going there.

Annoyed to Amazed!!!. I the time that I was reading this book I was grounded. My mother said that I had to read a book and write a whole book report on it. I was looking through the free books and I saw the title and image of the book and I was interested. I picked this book and with an attitude I told my mom that I picked a book, she said “you better get to reading”. I was so mad but once I finished the first chapter I was glued to the book I had to finish it I told my self I was going to stop reading but I just kept on wanting to find out what happened next. This book was so interesting and I loved it. If you like fantasy then this is the book for you. The only problem I think is that the book was mainly about the girl and the dragons connection but that scene in the book didn’t come up until the very end. That’s not enough to put a star down though that’s how good this story is!!!

Good Book. I really enjoyed this book, well written with a good story. I get the feeling throughout the book that the author has a low opinion of men, and especially fathers. Other than that it’s a good read, I’ll be buying the second one shortly!

Terrible. This book was truly awful. It should have been branded as a YA for 13 year old girls. I was on the cusp of just outright stopping the narration when the book ended. I listened while in traffic, so it could have been worse. Zero depth, character growth, or creativity in the book. This has no themes of Christianity despite what others proclaim (grasping at straws) but is truly among the worst YA novels I have read or listened to.

Enjoyable. An enjoyable read that I would gladly see adopted into a t.v. series.

Rise of the Dragon. Captivating, always wanting more and more.

Fun. This was a fun story.

Nice!. Pretty good. If you like dragon books, told form a humans POV. But i need to find a free copy of the second book that is free.

Not a Good Read!. Please choose something else! This series is poorly written and in need of a good editor.

Rise of the dragons. Morgan Rice. Good story but poorly executed. This book dreams of a good editor.

Typos & nonsense. Decent story but too many typos and entire paragraphs that read like nonsense.

A good book. I liked this book. It was dramatic and building until the end. Only at the end it wasn’t entirely done; it’s set the beginning of the next book. I guess that’s a smart way to sell books.

Slow and rocky start but good ending. So not a fan of the repetitive language used or the statements made several times. You don’t need to explain the wall of fire keeping the trolls out four times. Also a little confusing at first when the POV changed. Was slow to pick up and most of the book didn’t have much progress which was disappointing. The plot is quite interesting though. And I do want to know what happens next so it is worth the read as far as that goes. Though I’m still trying to find out the writers justification for Leo as it feels like an easy out to protect the main character and her brother. All in all I am pretty neutral about this book so will be picking up the next in the series if only to find out what happens.

First of a series.. I enjoyed reading this book. It is the first in a series. Not a stand alone. More geared toward younger adults. I started reading the second book. It jumps between characters.

Thrilling. I love it, couldn’t stop reading and now I am reading second one.

Rise of Dragons. Good plot and character development. Very bad grammar and too repetitive with the use of same phrases over and over “for the first time” “heart slammed in chest” etc...

Must have more!. I love the ancient world and dragons. This one has it all adventure, battles, even some mystery. A page turner!

It was free. I enjoyed reading this but it really needs to be proofread. There’s also a lot of repetition which can be annoying. Other than that it was a good read.

Forward to battle?. Many good fantasies envision worlds where women - sometimes exceptionally and sometimes as a matter of course - can physically match male soldiers. Paksenarrion in “Sheepfarmer’s Daughter” is a good example. Paks was naïve, but not stupid, and she understood her actions (or inactions) had consequences. The protagonist in this story is so spoiled and stupid, so used to others making allowances for her and cleaning up her messes, so lacking in foresight or concern for others, that her unthinking actions could obliterate her people. She is admirably focused, quick, and fierce in battle, but does she have to be so … well, stupid? One day our ‘hero’ fights for her life against a soldier; the next day she brainlessly follows him by herself into the forest. She does whatever will lead to her next predicament with only token justification by the author. If this were a horror flick, she definitely would be the cheerleader who goes to the basement to check out the “funny noises”. Shouldn’t a 15-year old growing up in a frontier fortress be a bit more worldly? The plot also is undermined by the one-dimensional characters. Villains are villainous because they like being villainous, soldiers fight because they like to fight, a wolf follows the protagonist because she (and only she) needs a sidekick. Give me a break! And give me another story to read.

Rise of the Dragons. A strong girl with plenty warrior valor. I can’t wait to read the second installment of Mr. Price’s series. It is the first book I read from this author and absolutely not the last. Freedom is worth dying for! I have dozens of similar stories about dragons and heroes, but the characters in this one are all memorable and worth knowing intimately.

Amazing find!!. Amazing heroin story. A must read!! Dragons, murderers, magic, and war! Going to invest in exploring all of Morgan Rice’s works.

Rise of the dragons. Great read!! I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading the rest of the series

Whoa.. I haven’t read a fantasy novel in a long, long time. I read this in a DAY. Less than a day, really. In 10 hours. I’m in love with it. Some of the writing isn’t the best, but the storyline itself is AMAZING

Great. Great

Exciting read. Good story, quick read. It is full up with the cliches’ of the genre, but still has a great feel of adventure to it. Part of the female empowerment movement but still a solidly written, though poorly edited, piece. So yeah I recommend this book. Good way to kill 5 or 8 hours.

Easy read, several writing errors throughout... Easy read but a fair amount of writing errors… needs a new editor.

Characters developed but plot, details flawed. This series (you can't really read just one book since they cut off in odd places) has well-developed characters, but a lot of the storytelling is flawed and takes me out of the story: the dialogue does not read like natural speech, the author knows even less about tactics and weapons than me (even I know crossbows shoot bolts, not arrows, as just one example), and there are inconsistencies in the story that appear to be a lack of attention to detail. For example, in the second book, several characters prepare to travel to a remote city. After riding on horseback for hours into the night in a forest (after their torched have burned out), they are hungry but have run out of food. I don't know about you, but in a forest at night there is not enough light for me to ride on horseback. I would also know to pack more than half a day's worth of food for a multi-day trip. It is like this all the time. If inconsistencies like that don't bother you, this might just be the book you're looking for. Otherwise...

Absolutely AMAZING!. Absolutely 5 stats on this, Morgan has outdone himself.

Brilliant I finished in just two days. I am a stickler for fantasy and this book delivered. Heart pounding, page scrolling masterpiece. I finished the book after only two nights of reading. It ended in a way I bought the second and third book bundle immediately. A must read for anyone craving to get lost in a world of brave characters facing chaos.

Good until.... I was enjoying this until it devolved into moralistic preaching.

Good book, but SO poorly written and/or edited. I enjoyed the book, but there were so many writing errors; sometimes page after page. Seriously, I’m an avid reader. I was done with this book in less than one Sunday, but would’ve likely been through at least half of another of equal length if it weren’t for all absurd errors. That ought to tell you something. Still, I’d recommend it as a good book (& that the author have someone else proof their work).

So bad.... Maybe someone should let George RR know that this hack completely ripped off his books. Rice’s writing may be the worst I’ve ever read. It’s like all Rice’s books were written by a high school student. The grammar and spelling are atrocious. The writing is painfully repetitive. No surprise that none were ever published on paper. How one author can keep pumping out so much garbage is mind blowing.

Rise of the Dragons. This was my first book but it is the start of a new love affair! On to book #2 thank you very much.

Game of thrones. I really enjoyed this book I enjoyed how the author writes I will read more of the series just be aware it seems very similar to the game of Thrones

Rise of dragons kings and sorcerers. Love this book I read the sorcerers ring series and hoped this series was as good in fact it is just as good both series are the best in have ever read can not wait for the forth book to come out

Great read. I was quiet skeptical when I first started reading it because I have a bad reading history with dragons however this book had me completely hooked. Furthermore, I normally don't read this kind of book but I'm glad I did. Although it sometimes is confusing because characters 'disappear' from the scene (not very often) however it still flows and is relatively unique for this type of book. I would recommend this book to 13+ due to some very mild content but other than that it was perfect.

Rise of the Dragons. Excellent read really enjoyed it, cant wait to read the next book :).

An easy read. Not bad for a free book but rather a weak effort. Tolkien it ain't! Nice to have a strong female character but it's like reading a fantasy version of the A-Team. Good characters seem invincible and no real depth to any of the characters.

Loved it. Movie worthy

Rise of The Dragon. It was a fantastic book to read enjoyed from the beging to the end

Disappointing. Disappointing Having read the book, despite the stereotypes and internal inconsistencies, I won’t be bothering with the rest of the series.

Great story but a little lazy with the writing. I really enjoyed the story line and love the characters. I felt as if I were taking the same journey at times as Kyra, Alec and Merc. I'm not much of a reader and so my comments are made with little understanding of what makes a good book however, there were times in the book where I thought the descriptions were a little lazy. Repetition seemed to feature a lot using the same phrase or adjective in one sentence after another. I also found some of the adjectives not befitting the moment in the story and as such, had to re-read the paragraph often replacing the word with one I felt had a better fit. These are small things hence why I have given it 4 stars and it is a good start. I would say it is on the same lines as Eragon but not quite as well written for me anyway!

Terrible. Filled with grammatical errors on every side. The amount of plot holes and cliches are way to high and the story frequently contradicts itself here and there. Repetition everywhere. The main character is a Mary Sue. That’s all that needs to be said really for her. Little dialogue that is usually just filler. Over all a terrible story that could go in my top ten worst reads.

A nice little read.. Despite the strong similarities to A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series, this was an engaging and interesting read with some somewhat unique lore and the promise of interesting future reads. The prose is a little younger than A Song of Ice and Fire reminding me more of the Inheritance series (which I loved). This is the first thing I have read by this author, I was disappointed at the length, which in my opinion, is always a big complement. 100% worth the free download, especially if you are a fan of medieval fantasy and dragons (like me).

Intriguing read. Was the first book I’ve read in years and it was hard to put down. Interesting plot lines and characters. Was a bit of a fast read, some scenes and characters could have been fleshed out more to give the initiating story more depth. I’m eager to read the rest of the novels in this series to see how the story unfolds.

Sorcerers ring?. Kinda sounds a lot like sorcerers ring....

My new favourite, could read again and again. I love this, I couldn’t stop reading it once I had started. Only read it if you’re willing to buy the next book, it’s addictive!!! I can’t wait to see where the journey takes us. It launches you into a world of dragons and knights and magic. Well worded and easy to see in your minds eye. 10 out of 10 book, really I can’t praise it enough. A perfect escape for any fantasy enthusiast.

Mr.. A good read, that could be improved with a bit more care taken in the editing.

Best Book. This is the best book I have read for ages, really love Kyra, I am completely hooked

Hooked from the beginning. Out of the way Harry, Voldemort is gone, but Kyra is moving in with a whole new kingdom-wide war for us to enjoy. 😉

I can’t stop reading!. I love this book. I have read it about 100 times and it hasn’t got old. 1- loved it 2- really cool

Mr. Great book and a compelling read. Nice to see a female lead in a story like this. Agree that the editing could have been more thorough. Often, characters in the series seem to be in two places at once due to an editing mistake. Otherwise, awesome books, and I wish they were longer!

Excellent book. Some people are saying that’s there grammar mistakes but I didn’t get any in mine so I think thier iPads were glitching. Amazing book with a great storyline and I would read the entire series. The characters are well developed and the main character has a mysterious past she doesn’t know about All all you should really read this book

Only made it 42% of the way through!. There’s the potential for an interesting story in here somewhere. But it currently reads as Game-of-Thrones-fanfic. And the grammar is atrocious. Repeating words. POV changes mid paragraph. The books needs a serious edit by a professional editor.

A good read but too short. While I really enjoyed this book I find it too short to be called a book & the following ones jump up in price rapidly for only 250 pages per book which is easily readable in a few hrs. A standard book is generally around 400 pages & would rather have at least this in a book, obviously it's to get more money but spoils my enjoyment so much that that is the only reason I am not getting the rest of the series nor reading any more of her books, unfortunate because the taster bodes well for the rest

Top writer couldn’t stop reading. I was looking for a very long time for a story like this wich involves more then one characters story in this book series it’s easy to read for someone who speaks 3 languages and very captivating chapter after chapter so interesting and exciting it’s worth it good job Morgan Rice I will definitely keep reading your writing.

Rise of the Dragons book1. Some books take me one or two weeks to read this one I read in one day, the pace of the book was excellent the characters very good with enough depth to get really involved with. I will be getting the other two books in the series and really looking forward to it

A good quick read. an engaging introduction to the fansty genre

Mixed review.. This is a difficult review to write. Let’s start with good - I finished this book and it had potential… Now the not so good. Rice is no Gemmell or Abercrombie (far far from it) - she’s a lazy writer who has a knack to saying the same thing twice in a paragraph. There are just too many tropes, co-incidences and inconsistencies. I’d give examples - and I can give many, but take it as read. This book could have used the services a good editor to clean up.

Terrible writing. This person is a #1 best seller? The basic story is ok but the writing is atrocious. The same words are used far too many times, such as "finally". Often in consecutive sentences, and there was no buildup to make the use of "finally" mean something. Poor character development and poor storytelling make this seem as though it has been written quickly. If it was a first effort I would not be so harsh but the write has written a number of books and claims to be a number 1 bestseller so I naturally expect much better than this.

Quest for heroes. Enjoyed the book although found in some parts seemed similar to kings and sorcerers

Must read!. Brilliant page turner, a must read for all lovers of true fantasy.

Read This Book - Amazing. From the moment I picked up this book (ebook) I was hooked - I didn't stop reading until I had finished it. It is the most well written ebook I have ever come across - and I read all the time... It put me off other books. I couldn't read another while part way through the series. Even though I don't believe in perfection, this book was literally PERFECT! It had just enough build up and storyline to the fighting that the fighting had purpose, a trait often missing in books with violence. It also appealed to the feminist in me - it talks about the struggles of Kyra and makes you sympathise with her. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE I POSSIBLY CAN - Oh, and i you subscribe to Morgan Rice's emailing list you will find out that he has a heart of gold to match the brain that came up with such an amazing story.

Rise of the dragons. Best reading ever.

I like the story to allow me insight to a character, not for the writer to tell me just to assume. Poorly written, undeveloped characters. Very one dimensional, disjointed storyline, seemed almost forced. There was no teasing the reader to arrive at their own conclusions or story driven development, the writers intention for them is stated and the story proceeds on that assumption. I would be upset if it wasn’t free! Served as an adequate distraction during COVID-19 lockdown

Good start to an epic?. I like the central character, our heroine, and the relation developing to the dragon. Lots of storyline here. Agree a bit more scrupulous editing would be appreciated, but overall a great story starting. Bring on book 2.

Have a read of it. Love it Very good to read and

Go girl. A great read.

Rise of the Dragons. This story will take you, hook, line & sinker.

SUPER GOOD. I LOVE it, it’s sooo good, dragons are my fav animal, and this is the first book that I ever read on this device. I love all the action in the book, it’s like… I’m in the book sometimes when I’m reading it. I love the feeling!

100% worth it. I’ve always been a fan of chivalry medieval books. For exemple (les chevaliers d’émeraude) a book series in French, this book really surprised me as I felt totally being absorbed by the story. I had such strong imagery in my head reading this that I could make a movie. I will definitely buy the 5 remaining book of the series and probably won’t regret it a bit.

Great. Solid book all the way through, had me hooked by the first few pages. Could use a bit more spellchecking and grammar revision but it doesn't take away from the story at all

Bad. I don’t get why people like this book

Incredibly compelling!. I can't wait for the next book!

Best book. Awesome could hardly put the book down

Great Story. Really enjoying the story. Good character development and easy to read. The pages just keep melting away.

AMAZING. This is one of the best books I have ever read!!!!!!!

Good for young children maybe. Let’s see she new she was changed for ever was it 3 or 4 times? I had to flip through the book to finish felt rushed, forced and completely unbelievable. Yes I know it’s a fantasy novel but you have to keep the character personalities believable. Others may like it but felt the same things were said over and over.

1 through 5. The story is great but the proofreading is really really bad.

The beginning!!. This first book in the series is amazing can’t stop reading!!! Love this type of genre. Thankyou Morgan for another good series

Rise of The Dragons. This is a fast-paced story that gets you hooked early on, and involves other characters in different regions as well. As a result you have to read on, to determine what may/may not transpire and when these other people will possibly enter the life of the main Heroine! Morgan Rice is so adept at weaving these lead characters into the fabric of the whole story that the book will be on your mind each day until you can sit down again and read more. Loved it 😍 njs
