Eye roller. I hate giving bad reviews, and I don't review books often. I could not stop rolling my eyes and I wanted to stop reading this several times. I read so many books and given the great reviews, I decided to read it. Yes, the geeky guy goes for the girl, great. The problem was the drawn out scenarios and "dramatic" events that occurred during the book. The parts where you would want more details were cut short. I was already half way through it and I couldn't wait for it to be over. I would find a different book to read, don't waste your eye rolling time.

Almost in Love. This is a sweet love story that proves you can’t always judge someone upon first meeting them. Barry is a geeky tech guy who falls for Amber, a pink-haired aspiring artist. After a rocky start, the romance takes off, with plenty of healthy sex and a HEA. Highly recommend. I plan to continue the series.

Sweet guys do win!. Geeks can stud out, Barry is a gem (his mother always told him). When he meets Amber he just knows he could be with her, and it's been 15 months, two weeks and 1 day since he's had sex. Loved this well written, funny, heart warming story.

Sweet. Barry is the thing you miss that's right in front of you. Although I can't imagine how since he pulled out all the stops to get the girl. This book shows how a non tradition guy gets the girl with old fashion traditional courtship of laughter and selflessness that pays off in a major way. Him getting the girl!!!

Cute. It's a cute and sweet story, perfect for a quick read on a lazy weekend.

By All Means, Unleash The Stud!!!. Kylie Gilmore’s newest addition to the Clover Park gang may be the hottest yet. In the prequel and this novel, we get reacquainted with Barry Furnukle, he of the dancing cow we met in the previous novel, Bad Taste in Men. Who knew what hotness was lurking just below his geeky surface? Certainly not Amber Lewis, his pink-haired, bad-boy lovin’ next door neighbor. As far as Amber is concerned, Barry is “just friends” material: perfect for watching cheesy zombie movies with, but definitely not for dating. Barry, however, is nothing if not persistent. He pulls out all the stops to prove he’s every bit as exciting as those biker types Amber seems drawn to. Hey, none of them became a pirate for her, did they? Gilmore once again pulls the reader in with two wonderfully relatable lead characters, and then ramps up the sexual heat between them until it’s just about necessary to fan yourself. Further, she surrounds them with a vibrant supporting cast chock full of hilarious antics as well as a few surprises. In fact, for me, the supporting casts Ms. Gilmore creates in her novels is as big a draw as her protagonists. There are no boring, cookie-cutter characters to be found in Clover Park. And to think, Barry is just the first stud she’s unleashing for us. I can’t wait to meet the rest.

Almost... Well written. Easy to read. You will not regret it. Read it in one day, couldn't put it down.

Cute story. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book with an interesting storyline and characters. My only problem was when it referenced the prequel. It was fun to watch the disasters of dates faced by the two characters, but that didn't mean the end for them.

Sweet and sexy nerd to the win!. Almost in Love is the first book in the Clover Park STUDS Series and tells the story of how tech-nerd and fro-yo shop owner Barry falls in love and wins over the heart of hot artist Amber. Let me start by saying that this was a very entertaining read that I finished in one sitting. It is very easy to get involved with the story and the well-developed characters the author created. I really liked how Barry came into his own and won over Amber without having to undergo some big makeover like in some other stories, it was all about confidence, self-esteem and learning how to communicate better with the people in your life. Having said that, I only give five starts to my absolute favorites and there were some things that stopped this book from being one of my new personal favorites: Barry was all about being intense and making big gestures, all with the best intentions, of course, but were just a bit too much for me at times; the way he would just think about having sex with her everywhere and all the time made me a bit uncomfortable at times; the way Amber was towards Barry at first seemed a bit dismissive and snobbish for me, like she thought she was better than him. Amber and Barry’s journey is a very interesting and sweet one and I would recommend it to anyone who likes stories with sweet and sexy nerds that get the girl in the end.

Sweet and Funny. A sweet lovable and sometimes funny story of an average guy finding his inner confidence and getting the woman of his dreams with some blunders along the way! I loved the peek into his brain and his inner monologues to himself! So funny!

I enjoyed this book a lot.. This was my first book by Kylie Gilmore; I received a copy from her in exchange for my honest review. I love books where the characters are mostly just every day, ordinary people. Barry has always been the underdog. He's not athletic and has always been kind of nerdy. When he meets his new neighbor, Amber, he falls hard for her - but she has a boyfriend. Amber has issues from her past that she hasn't really dealt with. Their path to happiness is rocky and kept me wanting to finish the book quickly so I could find out how things turn out. The book is at times humorous and other times serious. I really enjoyed reading it.

Loved!. I loved Barry and Amber's story! I have a soft spot for geeky guys and I always root for them. At first it seems like Amber and Barry are mismatched but they are perfect for each other! I loved all of the secondary characters too and can't wait to read their stories! I would definitely recommend this book!
