داود صفدریان متولد بیست و هشتم اسفند ماه ۱۳۵۲ در ایران است و پس از سالها قلم و قدم زدن در کوچه باغهای شعر پارسی، نهایتا" دوبیتی را به عنوان نزدیکترین یار خود انتخاب کرده است که در انها عشق و دغدغه های اجتماعی انسان امروزی متبلور است.
کتاب حاضر من و باران و یک ماشین دربست شامل ۱۸۸ دوبیتی، دومین و تازه ترین کتاب شعر این شاعر پارسی می باشد و حاوی دوبیتیهایی با پس زمینۀ عاشقانه و اجتماعی است که به صورت چاپی و الکترونیک در اختیار علاقمندان به شعر قرار گرفته است دوبیتهای کتاب به زبان فارسی و به همراه ترجمۀ آنها به زبان انگلیسی است متن زیر مقدمه ای است از خود شاعر برای کتاب من و باران و یک ماشین دربست:
