Wonderful. This is the best book I have read about writing and creativity. I just wished I would have read it in my twenties instead of my sixties. We should just go out and create.

Thoughtful. Big Magic inspired me the whole time I read it! There’s something to what she’s saying that ever person needs to read! It’s written in a way that makes you as a reader feeling you’re having a conversation with you! I was very moved to action during my reading!! I would definitely recommend it to someone who is in a slump of any sort

Anyone Who Loves to Create Should Read This. From the first few pages, I identified with this book. I’ve had a tough time giving in to my creativity. I thought it was procrastination but this book helped me to realize it was fear. Anyone who likes to create things should read this book. She’s right - a create life is much more fun😊

What the hey. This book taught me quite a bit about creativity and more about just saying yes to things and doing things. Being dating enough to try whether you fail or not. "It is far more honorable to fail, than to cheat." -Malala I feel like this book has taught me a similar lesson. Perhaps, nothing about cheating, but something about failing. It taught me enough that in being asked to write a review, I would usually say no. However, instead I chose to write this. No matter who reads it or whether or not it matters. Nailed it!. Have you ever read a book you didn't even know you needed to read? That's what 'Big Magic' was to me. I wasn't looking for this book, but it found me and I'm so glad it did.

A waste of ink. I bought this book against my better judgement because a friend was in love with it and wanted to get my reaction. Well, it's not good. Gilbert has two main points (that aren't all that magical anyway) and she takes a whole book to say it. And say it again. And again in different words. I tried. I wanted to like it. But I didn't. If I could give a lower star rating I would. Save your money.

Get this!. I agree with the other reviewers. This is a must read for anyone who creates or wants to create. One of the most important books I’ve ever read.

The Bible for creators. This book is a must read for all creators. I’ve given this book to all of my creative friends; writers, chefs, painters. I’m a photographer and this book has changed my mindset to create and feel valued. Highly recommended it.

Better than expected. I am both a reader and a writer, and I was not expecting much of Big Magic. Mostly because I don't generally care for self-help books. However, if you are looking to be inspired, this is a great book for you. I can tell you right now that while I was reading I had at least three new ideas for short stories, and started writing right away. I could say I felt the Big Magic being transferred from the book to me. The book is about creativity and what you do with your creations. Or rather, what creating do to you. It accomplishes its purpose, it is a helpful read.

Beautifully written.. Once again, Liz Gilbert captures her audience with the use of magical words. The story is captivating and the use of the language is exquisite, not only you get entertained by the narrative, but also you learn about history, botanics and of course, human nature. I gave it four stars because there is a portion of the book that is unnecesarily long, however the books reedems itself plenty. A must read!

Amazing read for anyone who creates anything.. I really couldn't stop reading Big Magic. The way Elizabeth talks about working with your creativity was really eye opening to me. It was honest and it gave me the courage to create despite the outcome. Beyond it being inspirational it was wonderfully written and had many practical take-a-ways you could apply to your own creative process. I love the book—it's a bit like my creative Bible guide.

This book is a blessing.. It’s exactly what I needed to read this year. And I will keep rereading it forever. Thank You to the author 🙏🏼

Lots to take up. Light read with lots of take-aways! Love the small stories incorporated to make the lessons very catchy! Really gave me hints of The Alchemist style writing. Definitely took some time with this book reflecting in between. The missing one star is for moments I felt there was some repetition.

A unique perspective on creativity. I purchased this book on a whim-- hoping to be inspired-- and i wasn't disappointed. I own a creative business, and Elizabeth's notion of "big magic" in creative ideas really struck me. I don't think i'll look at ideas and how they come into our lives, the same. This was a wonderful read, and i highly recommend it for the creative entrepreneur. Thank you Liz for bringing big magic into our lives!

Inspirational. I personally really like the way that Elizabeth write not novel books through her own experiences and personal life stories. This book for me is not a self-help as others rated this, but is like a face to face conversation with someone that like you and is not holding his words avoiding hurt you. So, open you heart and mind, don't take this conversation personally (never takes nothing personally) and let things come and go. Get inspired as much as you can and take courage to do. It's a such nice inspirational book.

Ideas are real things. This book is about art, writing, daily life, inspiration and Ideas. I loved it and many times laughed out loud in recognition of the possibilities in this world. Gilbert’s take home message is —be inspired, act on an Idea, nurture it, enter into an agreement with it — but if an Idea is left too long, or forgotten, it will move on and find another vessel to manifest and partner with. It wants to be born into this realm and if not you, someone else will bring it forth. And that’s ok. It explains why there were two claimed inventors of the telephone, and timing is everything.
