False Impressions by Sandra Nikolai Book Summary

"Her cheating husband was murdered and she's the prime suspect. Proving her innocence is one thing. Evading a killer who wants her dead is something else."

BETRAYAL. JEALOUSY. REVENGE.

Montreal ghostwriter Megan Scott falls under police suspicion when her husband and a female companion are found murdered. In what a Québec detective calls a crime of passion, startling evidence surfaces to also implicate Michael Elliott, a young investigative reporter who'd rather rub elbows with scumbags than live the posh lifestyle he inherited.

Clutched out of her comfort zone, Megan is flung into Michael's dark world of criminal investigation. As they make a last-ditch attempt to prove their innocence, an elusive enemy closes in and threatens their lives. Who wants them out of the way and why?

Their only path to freedom is to catch the twisted killer before they become the next victims. But not knowing who to trust or where to turn can have consequences that are just as lethal…

False Impressions. Great mystery with many twists and turns. Very exciting and hard to put down. I will be looking forward to more by this author.

False Impressions. Good story and had me changing my mind twice as to “who did it”. You never know what people are capable of and need to trust your instincts.

A Good Read. An interesting mystery with lots of twists and turns. Well written and no smut.

False Impressions. Intriguing and compelling reading!!!

Spell binding. Love this book. Kept going from one person to the next as the killer and then I thought Emily was the killer till she was reveled. That doesn’t happen very often.

Highly recommend.. False Impressions. Worth the read. I started this book mid morning and finished at night; only stopped to eat .

false Impressions. A fascinating good read.

False impressions. Great read

Good Read. I read the book from start to finish - very enjoyable.

False Impressions. This book is written so well and as soon as I started reading it, I was hooked!

So intriguing... This book is very interesting. I kept trying to solve the murder myself. Although I was surprised at the ending. The love story between Megan and Michael is amazing. Another great read.

Murder mystery for dummies. Stilted writing. Also, very obvious that Jane was a leading suspect killer from the beginning. That Michael never followed up on her investigation of Willie was out of character for him. And, that the main character was so thoroughly fooled by Tom and Pam and managed to have two such terrible people in her life? She was no dummy, so out of character. This book needs work, but the basics are there for a good story!

False Impressions. A clever, enjoyable mystery with interesting characters.

Riveting story, unexpected character analysis. This is a must read! Twists within each character that keep you guessing! Even the main characters! Greatly written; can hardly wait to read more from this author!

Great read. This book kept you guessing up to and including last chapter.

Interesting read!. This book proved to be a page-turner. Well done.

False Impressions. I liked it but for some reason it wasn’t my favorite.

False Impressions. Well done. I never lost interest and moved through the book easily. Realistic conversation and action. I was in it to the last page. I’d also read another of her books.

False Impressions. Lots of plot twists and red herrings. Complicated characters and interesting background.

False impressions. I enjoyed this book and its story line.

False Impressions. Solid character building. Plot orchestrated very nicely, with smooth introductions to each character as they enter the story when it is time to enter. And who doesn’t like a surprise ending? Very fluid word weaving that carries you to the appropriate places at appropriate times, and does not disappoint once you get there. Fresh style of writing as well. Way beyond an ordinary “who dunit”. Reader gets to be as comfortable with Megan and Michael, as they are as with each other as characters in the book. Grab a copy and make sure you can spare the time to read this book, because you won’t want to put it down once you begin reading it. This book “delivers”.

False Impressions. I’ll admit that I had a hard time finishing this book. Besides having unlikable characters, their actions were not realistic. Even finding out her husband was unfaithful, how did she show NO grief for the end of her dreams/marriage? I was glad when the book was over.

False Impressions. Very smartly written. Believable, interesting characters.

Great read. Easy to read story with a twist

False impressions. Interesting twists kept me turning the pages.

Definitely a good page turner. Liked this book and if you only read this one you would not be disappointed. It works very well as a stand alone novel, but seeing there is a whole series makes me think further stories of this couple will be like movie sequels which are not so good.

Poorly written. Fairly average writing style. You can see the plot setups a mike away it’s a bit amateurish

So many twists and turns. A great riveting read could not put down and finished it in one read

Engaging page-turner that I couldn’t put down. Life can change in the blink of an eye and circumstances beyond one’s control puts a person in a situation of being accused of murdering her husband with the whole world, except for one friend, against her. Together they work to solve the crime. Extremely well written and highly recommended.

False Impressions. Great light reading crime and romance. Could not put the book down.
