A Love That Never Tires by Allyson Jeleyne Book Summary

Linley Talbot-Martin is a girl who likes to get her hands dirty. As the daughter of a famous archaeologist, she's been everywhere and seen everything—except London. But when the time comes to trade her jodhpurs and work boots for silk gowns and kid gloves, she may be in over her head.

Even though she can out-ride, out-shoot, and outsmart any girl in London society, Linley is destined to be the failure of the season. No one she meets cares about ancient pottery or lost Buddhist texts, and fundraising efforts for future expeditions keep coming up short. If the Talbot-Martin team doesn't find money soon, they will be out of a job, and Linley will lose everything she holds dear.

Patrick Wolford, Marquess of Kyre (pronounced 'Keer'), is a man who knows his place. Well-connected and respected, he is everything everyone expects him to be, but beneath his façade, he is as neglected and crumbling as the family estate. Now the strain of keeping up appearances is taking its toll. The smart thing would be to marry the heiress nipping at his heels and be done with it, but when he meets Linley Talbot-Martin, who dares to shake up his seemingly proper world, he must choose between the life he's always known and one he never dared to dream of.

Love!. What a great book!

:(. The first half was great! I really enjoyed it. The second half…. I couldn’t finish. This story would have been better if it had ended where it was still entertaining.

A Love That Never Tires. Excellent, could not put it down until finished.

Really good read. A beautiful story of two people whose love evolves during a trek thru India. Loved the characters. Want to continue with the next story of Patrick and Linley.

New editor. In three places I found grammar mistakes that I have never seen in my life of reading. All three were pronoun errors like “between you and I”. It should be “between you and me”. “between” is a preposition and requires its objects to be in the objective case. “I” is used for subjects. An editor should have caught these mistakes. I’m 71 and have never seen this type of error in published writing.

A Love Never Tires. Wow! Yes this story was absolutely wonderful. I feel like I have been on an African safari a . Struggling thru the forest with them and then reaching Himalayans. Oh my what an adventure this was.

A Love Never Tires. Great story, so exciting, the second book continues from this story.

Very good read. I enjoyed the story of Patrick and Linley very much. I haven't read many books in the time period and enjoyed it immensely. Good job!!

Great story. Couldn't put it down.

Good read. I really enjoyed this book. I could not put it down.i learned about society life in England, life as an archeologist, and the symptoms of malaria. This book will never be a classic, but it is a story well-told.

Great story line. This book was better than I expected it to be. A romance novel is usually standard girl meets boy, something happens in between, then they fall in love. This book has lots of things happen in between and even the beginning is not typical. A great read with lots of action and surprise. Not your typical romance novel, but in a better way.

Very entertaining and interesting.. Loved the details, love the characters. Would have liked more depth to the other men, but maybe that's another book. Looking forward to reading about this couple more. Like that Linley is devoted to her father and his career, but she needs her own life too.

True love.... The first half of this book was utterly enjoyable. I loved the interaction between Patrick and Linley. This book is definitely different than other historical romance novels. This is a series starter so you don't get a happy ending but there are so many good parts of this book you end it satisfied.

Too long. Not one of the best romance novels that I have read. Too many unbelievable events.

A love that never dies. So good, but I wanted a happy ending

Disappointed. Some aspects of this were great and it’s pretty unique but the story wasn’t realistic or believable. Mostly I didn’t like the end at all. It was a happy ending and then the epilogue messed it up. Plus there’s an unresolved issue of whether artifacts were stolen from Monks.

A Love That Never Tires. I wanted to care about the main characters, but they were not very likable. Their interaction left a lot to be desired. It won't break my heart if I never find out more of their story/stories.

A love that never tires. More like the story that never ends. I feel like it was two books mashed together. While sometimes interesting I think it could have benefited from some serious editing and tightening up. The first half was better imo and the second half just rambled and repeated itself too much. However, I’m not an author or critic so what do I know. Just my own thoughts on this one.

Surprisingly good. Linley and Patrick are an odd pair but delightful. I really liked the story and the twist and turns. I would recommend it. And it's free :)

Yikes. The main characters are not likable in the least and the story is not interesting enough to make up for it. I respect the authors attempt to create something different but with characters like this I will be lucky if I can make it through the last bit of this book without giving up.

Great book.... beautifully written. I love how this book was written. What a beautiful story of friendship, jealousy, love and loss. How certain things in life really shouldn't matter and those that do are what you should live your life by.

A solid romance. This was a good read featuring a plucky heroine and her charming love interest as they fall in love and travel to far off places. The unlikely couple is obviously destined to be together, but the how is pretty entertaining with touches of adventure as illness and the harsh traveling conditions threaten their very survival. Recommended for fans of historical romance set in the years before the First World War.

Very nice!. What a fun book! I love being transported to another place in history! I felt immersed in the characters; empathetic. I want more, and lucky for me this is the first one in a series.

Awful. Absolute dross. Anti suffrage?? Pro colonialism?? I know you’re writing in a period but it doesn’t make me like your characters...

A love that never tires. I enjoyed reading this book

Very enjoyable book. This is the first time I've read Allyson Jeleyne's work, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I downloaded it free in iBook, & without realising it, also downloaded it onto my Kindle app. I give the book 4.5*. Linley has travelled all over the world with her archaeologist father. When in Morocco she meets Patrick Wolford, she is enchanted. He is smitten with the young lady who is nothing like the ladies of society. Linley's father Bedford, decides to take his team with him to London when he received his knighthood. While out shopping with Cousin Berenice for new outfits, they meet & extract an invitation from one of London's society families. Bedford & Berenice are pleased: he's hoping to get further funding for expeditions; she's hoping Linley will find a good match. However, at the ball, Linley meets Patrick, who is the Marquis of Kyre. Despite spending time together in London, Linley leaves for India with her father. Patrick decides he loves her & chases halfway across the world to find her... There were a couple of issues that I did not like about the book. I felt Linley was to "forward", taking on a lover, but not wanting marriage. Patrick did not act like the gentleman he was supposed to be & took her virginity. He also knew that he couldn't marry Linley as he need the dowry of a rich wife. There are a few love scenes in this book. The epilogue does not mention what happened to the team after Patrick got Linley to the missionary when she fell ill. It would have been nice to know, so not completely wrapped up the story. Furthermore, although Patrick & Linley marry, they don't get their HEA as at the end of the book, Patrick is leaving his wife to fight in the war.

Loved it. Haven't enjoyed a new to me author so much in ages. So much that I left this review which is a first for me. Really cared about the characters and loved how the story unfolded

Great read. Really enjoyed this book and the jitneys followed.

A Love That Never Tires. Y. A Love That Never Tires. 7.5/10 Free iBook. Linley is the daughter of a prominent archeologist, who has grown up on the digs with her father's team. Patrick is a peer, with large tracts of entailed land and very little cash. It looks like he needs to marry an heiress, but comes across Linley, and thinks she is a free spirit -just the opposite of himself. She is attracted to his stability, since she has never had any. When her father is given an award, she meets Patrick again in London, then he flies her to India, where he saves her from dying in a himilayan monastery and nearly dies himself, carrying her out.

Fantastic read. I enjoyed the book thoroughly! Thank you for such a great read.

Boring. I couldn’t find enough interest to finish it

Impressive. An epic tale of life in the early 1900's. A truly worthy read.

A Love That Never Tires. First of all it was too long. It started out okay, but dragged on. The end was a disappointment. It was a waste of time.

Another good story spoiled. Surely it is unnecessary to include swear words and using Christ's name so irreverently!!!

A Love That Never Tires. For those of us who have wanted to be part of a team on a dig, this story is great. You showed us the agony of the trip and what could happen while also putting humor and love in.
