Not what I was expecting.. Had high hopes for this book as I LOVED the original trilogy. Was skeptical going in considering a new author and my fears were correct. The story itself is interesting, at least initially, however I was lost once all the super-computer and mathematical algorithms that hackers use began. New characters were poorly developed and randomly introduced, leaving you trying to remember who they were. As I said, the first half, maybe two thirds were good story-wise but after that, the excitement of the story rapidly fades away.

4 stars. Although it was a bit shorter than all of the other books in the series, I thought it was very good. Style was similar to Larsson's, which was good too.

Great title. always a wonderful read... my third read..... It's such a tragedy that the author is no longer with us.

Refund Please. Way too many characters, the "girl" is hardly even in it, one of the worst books I can't even finish reading! Wish she would hack my iPad and steal it back!!!!

You may want to skip. Far short of the experience of reading the first three books.

Where is Salander?. This is a great book, but it has a slow start. The plot is really good but The first half of the book focuses way too much new characters, especially the local police and government security. I actually skipped about 30 pages of the police interactions with each other. Even with that criticism, the girl in the spiders web is an awesome book. The second half moves fast in this classic Lizbeth. Don't be like me, and write a review without finishing the book. Like me you're have to go back and rewrite your review. The author did a great job of carrying on the legacy. Hopefully he will get more focused in the second book we're just not kill us with the side stories about people who really aren't that interesting While you're waiting for the next book Martyn Halm's Katla Amsterdam Assassin series is an awesome way to spend the time.Halm's attention to detail and development of his character Katla or well thought out and organic. In the beginning I thought Katla was just a knock off of Lisbeth, but she is so much more. By the third book I thought she had a lot more depth. I actually started confusing the story lines. No need to compare the two, but while waiting for the next Lisbeth Book this is a great way to spend the time.

Disappointing. I found this effort forced and contrived. The mystery of the character of Salendar was totally lacking. The ending was forced and rushed as if the author could not wait to get to press to capitalize on the franchise. Disappointing.

Girl in the Spiders Web. Having read all the Sig L. books in this series I was hesitant to try this new addition by another author. No need! Everything, timing, plot twists, characters, all were spot on! I highly recommend it.

Oh Yessssss. Great entertainment period! The characters are very much intact. It was great fun to read again of the exploits of Mz Salander!

Good continuity by the author. I enjoyed this book, and tried hard not to judge until I'd finished it. It's not the stellar sequel some reviews have given it, but it's certainly not the dismal failure other negative folks painted it as. NO one (not no-one) could have done whatever it may have been that Steig Larson had in mind, but this was satisfactory. If you can assume that the character of Lisbeh Salander would have changed and grown significantly in 10 or so years you'll be a more content reader.

Not disappointed. This book may not be exactly Steig Larson....but it valued the come any closely. It is a worthy sequel, and I can barely wait for the next one.

Loved this.. A complex and fascinating story plotted on multiple levels. It didnā€™t matter that I donā€™t understand most of the programming and encryption procedures, I ā€œknewā€ the characters knew and that carried me through.

TERRible. What a waste of time...I was soooo disapointed. I mean Lisbeth hardly makes an apperance in this book. I cant think of anything nice to say ...Lagercrantz missed the point of everything.

Suspenseful. It took a while to get into the story but then it just overtook me. I love the suspense and how everything intertwined.

Very good read. The author did a great job picking up the series. I enjoyed this book and never get bored reading of the genius that is Lisbeth Salander!

Like. Great and spooky

In the Master's Shadow. How daunting it must have been to pick up the intricately complex, but engrossing tale of Mikael and Lisbeth that Stieg Larsson wove so expertly over three tightly crafted novels. While at times, I feared that the author had lost his way, in the end, David Langercrantz hit the bullseye with a satisfying blend of page-turning drama and pathos. His characters came to life and repopulated a world that Larsson fans had come to love and long for. Bravo Mr. Langercrantz.

Excellent. This was a much desired continuation of the life (and exploits) of Lisbeth Salander. Iā€™m looking forward to the November 9th release for the film about this novel (4th installment) in the ongoing Lisbeth Salander saga.

Great thanks again for all your work. No BšŸ˜Ž. Greatest.

The Girl in the Spider's Web. I read the book because of Steig Larson's outstanding trilogy. However, I was ultimately disappointed because this book lacked the intrigue and power of Larson's writing.

Love Salander!. Not quite as good as the first three novels but still a good page turner. Bravo

The Girl in the Spiderā€™s Web. Excellent follow up to the trilogy buy Stieglitz Larson. I look forward to you writing the next one David Lagercrantz.

If you expect the genius that was Lars, move on. There were moments of this book I liked, I felt a connection to the characters that I had from the previous stories. But as it unfolded, the magic that was his style, very direct and dissociated, was not there. He unfolded the story for the reader, allowed the characters to bring you in. I could feel this authors sometimes heavy push towards emotion, he wasn't content to allow the story to bring about the feelings of the reader, but rather, tried, like many movies, to push the emotions onto the participant. I'm not a nostalgic person, I don't appreciate when an author tries to force feelings that may not be warranted. As far as a story, it wasn't bad.

The Girl Who kicked theHornet's Nest. Most enjoyable well written and researched novel in the Stieg Larson tradition. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

A New Beginning. The Girl in the Spiderā€™s Web offers a new beginning to Elizbet Salanderā€™s story. Now she is attempting to bring down the criminal organization known as the Spiders, a gang run by her ruthless twin sister. Looking forward to the next installment of Salanderā€™s story.

The Girl in the Spiderā€™s Web. Great read!! Lagercrantz has done a great job carrying on the The Girl Who series

The Girl in the Spider Web. Ultra smooth transition from Stieg's pen and David's thriller, leaving a small opening for another novel.

Girl in the Spiderā€™s Web. Good read but definitely must read previous series to keep track of characters.

Don't waste your time with this. It seems the writer larsons estate chose for this book was inexperienced, boring and completely missed any attempt at continuing to develope any of the characters from the trilogy. I gave it a chance which resulted in feeling ripped off by the Larson estate. This book is about capitalizing on a good writers talent by using a cheap minor talented hack to generate some quick cash. Horrible

Why does this keep happening. Glorified fan fiction. Why does this exist. Leave Stiegā€™s legacy alone please.

Not Such a Great Web. This sequel to the Millennium trilogy features the characters, the atmosphere but not the craftsmanship of its predecessors. Scenes are staged awkwardly and punchlines poorly delivered. I had to slog through dozens of trivial characters and poorly-designed scenes to barrel through to the end. The translation is irritating, repeatedly using "which" when "that" is the correct choice, for example. Alas, Lisbeth and Blomkvist have been left stranded in our imaginations, and I'll be hard-pressed to pick up book number five.

The Girl in the Spider's Web. Great read. I loved the first three books in the series and was so disappointed when I learned that the author (Stieg Larsson) had passed away. This author picked up right where the "Hornet's Nest" left off, and with a very similar writing style.

What a shame.... Butchered the original trilogy... but I guess the money was there so they pulled the trigger with an excuse for an author. This book was so unlike the previous trilogies, with excessive effort paid to a happy ending and no real imagination in the plot twists...

Spider. Passes time

A story about humanity .... A story about humanity ... and the quagmire that develops when human greed and the digital age with its improved surveillance methods collide.

The Girl in the Spider's Web. A joy to read.

Favorite. Love Salander. She is a beast.

The Girl In The Spider's Web. I've loved Lisbeth Salander since the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. This book was a nice addition to the three I've already read. I loved the info about August and autism, especially pertaining to savants. The ending makes both her and Mikael a little more human and seals their relationship status. Good book!

Good but not Stieg Larson. I was excited to see a continuation of Steig Larson's books. However the book lacked Larson's details & intensity. There should have been details on Salander's return from the ending of Larson's last book. I would have liked more detail on what Zander gave up & more on Camilla instead of her just disappearing. It was all too neat & tidy. Larson was not neat & tidy. He gave you the feeling of waiting to turn the page to find out what happens next. Salander was too tame. Hopefully there's more to come.

Not too bad. Pretty good continuation of the series.

Icing on the Cake. I really enjoyed reading what I thought was the final book of this series but with a few loose ends I am thinking another installment might happen. My favorite part was the ending. I would have enjoyed seeing A little more of a relationship between the main characters. Overall, well done.

I, for some reason had a hard time with this book. This book didnā€™t grab me as the previous ones had me glued to the pages for hours at a time.

Good read!. David Lagercrantz has made a nice addition to Larsson's "The Girl..." Series. This author's style neither parrots nor distracts from style of the previous books; it's simply different. The book was a page-turner for me. Definitely a good read for technophiles like myself. Hacking and network technology are very prominent in the story, but don't let that discourage you, I think it's well-explained and it is accompanied by enough suspense to keep you intrigued. Very glad I read this!

Venerable tradition. Lagercrantz honors Larsson by keeping the marvelous character Lisbeth Salander alive in a story more than worthy of its predecessors. This is one of the best books of the genre I've read; I've read many. I'm sad that so many people are offended, indeed indignant, that this book is continuing a series started by another author. Lagercrantz is merely following a tradition followed by a long line of authors. The Sherlock Holmes stories are a great example; so much so that Sherlock Holmes is considered a "franchise."

Disappointing book in great series.. I loved the first three books. I could not put them down. This last book had little drama, no good story to tell and little mystery. It just wasn't a good. Two stars is generous. I'm very disappointed.

The Girl in the Spider's Web. Stieg Larsson must be rolling over in his grave.

Wonderful continuation. If youā€™re thinking of trying this out after the main trilogy - do it! It takes a bit to get used to the new writing style and dialogue but it pays off and the plot line is great. Love seeing where Salander will go next!

Enjoyable read. Despite some of the other negative reviews I enjoyed the book very much. Seemed to me that the characters were still very much in line with the characters in previous 3 books despite the different author. Iā€™m def no critic just a simple reader but I honestly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book and hopefully more after that.

Rerun. The entire plot felt like a rerun of an old movie. Sorry end to a enjoyable series.

The Girl in the Spider's Web. Lacks the intrigue and actions of the other books in this series
