My new favorite!. I love the characters. The storyline is great. This is my new favorite!

Absolutely Love This One!. After his wife's death four years ago, Crawford Hunt was in bad shape and let his in-laws take his young daughter. Now the Texas Ranger is trying to get his five year old back, but a hearing results in a bailiff being shot and Crawford running after the fleeing gunman. Judge Holly Spencer is horrified by what went on in her courtroom, and she is reluctantly drawn into the investigation with Crawford, as well as into a personal relationship. While trying to unravel the case, Crawford's actions are interpreted by his father-in-law as reckless instead of heroic, and the older man vows to keep his granddaughter. As Crawford investigates the murder, he is almost certain that it is going to cost him the life he wants with his child. Each time I read a book by Sandra Brown, I end up with a new favorite by the author. This one was no exception. I loved every bit of it, and will be thinking about it for some time to come. The characters were well drawn and they were easy to connect with. Holly and Crawford were great together, and I enjoyed the chemistry between them. Crawford's daughter, Georgia, was a delight! I thought author found the perfect balance of romance and suspense, and the suspense aspect of the book kept me guessing. This is one of the best romantic suspense novels I've read in some time! Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Meh. Just couldn’t get into this book. Finally made it but took longer than usual and was just ok. Very predictable and nothing special.

So-so read. I've been a fan of Sandra Brown for a long time, but her past few books, including this one, have been disappointing. Her graphic sex scenes, and in particular her graphic sex dialogue are almost laughable. Who talks that way? I'm certainly no prude, but some of her phrases literally make me roll my eyes. Friction was a decent enough murder mystery, but probably my last book by Ms. Brown.

Slow. I absolutely love Sandra Brown and every book I've read of hers but this one was a good sleep aid. Very slow, no suspense, characters were flat. Wouldn't recommend.

Friction. As expected, this is another gripping suspense by a master of the genre. Holds everything the reader requires...mystery, murder, fast-paced action, and a spicy romance. Allow plenty of time off for reading since you'll not want to close the book til the final page.

Sandra at her best. Really good book. Suspenseful, intrigue, ups & downs. Typical Sandra novel with bedroom scenes, multiple bad guy choices and cop chases. Was really hard to put down from page 1. Highly recommend.

Slow progression. I found the story dragged and the graphic sex scenes didn't really add to the book. Seems like the author was torn between writing a real mystery or a Fifty Shades novel.

Predictable. Predictable plot. Stereotypes, not characters. Repetitive, boring language. Combine "50 shades of grey" with some cheap crime novel and you got "Friction". There are better "one-dimensional action hero" stories out there to waste your time with.
