Excellent book. Fantastic. Carries from the first chapter. Being a Marine from the old days makes it even more enjoyable. A definite 'must read' for Sci-Fi fans. Action galore, and realistic action. Semper Fi!

First Strike. Book moves well. Maybe a bit predictable but overall a pleasant reading experience.

Review of First Strike. First Strike has a well crafted plot, realistic characters and applaudable character development, and a well-paced timeline. However, the mediocre prose and grammatical errors, including awkward sentence structure and misused and/or miss-spelled words, detracted from the highly creative story line. It is this reviewer's opinion that the author has a great deal of potential, but should step up the prose and polish the grammar to become a first-rate novelist.

Good read not quite what I expected. It was overall a well written and fast paced sci fi thriller, was expecting it to be humans fighting at least some aliens, not just other humans turned by the enemy but the storyline kept me engaged and I liked the characters and how the story pulled together at the end, only issue was typos were missed by the editor, but nothing too major to totally distract the reader.

First Strike. Fast moving SIFY thriller. Enjoyed the interactions of the characters combined with the futuristic setting. Could have used a final proof read for typos.

Pretty terrible. Predicable, campy, mix of a bunch of other stories remastered into this book. Space war? Well no, gritty war drama, well about as realistic as a Saturday cartoon; I guess if you took a bunch of other people's ideas and the plot point points from a half dozen corny sci-fi flicks, added some single dimension good guys and a few never really explained, what's the point of these guys, bad guys, oh and toss in a big six legged bear that eats people, well then you would have this book.

First Strike. Good read. Interesting that Marines are still part of the Fleet (Navy) hundreds of years in the future. Has a hero and a romance, but not any really new weapons.

Read it, will skip the series. Predictable plot, needs an editor, poor characterization.

Excellent sci Fi. Read this book at my leisure. Stimulated my imagination, being I believe that we are not the first or only. Also being a former active Marine set my curiosity as to a futuristic Marine Corps. Fast paced believable sci Fi.

Like a good war movie. Fun to read, hard to put down. Like a good old war movie with a space age twist. Going to download the next book right away.

A Remarkable First Read. A most riveting read! The author got some of the military stuff wrong, and there were some syntax errors that slipped through, but they didn’t detract from the book. Lots of realistic action throughout the 600 pages that kept me involved to the very end. Bravo Zulu to you!

Good characters, good tale, good writing.. Good characters, good tale, good writing. Except for FTL, tech is credible. Echoes of present day sectarian warfare and Korean war. Worth re-reading.

1st of Nine Volumes; kill me now!. Yikes, this was a decent read and I found it enjoyable enough to finish. But plow through eight more of them? I think not. Like so many of the authors offering their first books for free the writer seems to suffering an extreme case of sequel-itis, a veritable pandemic in the SF world that I for one would like to see stamped out with extreme prejudice. Still, I thought it was worth three stars on its lonesome.

Very good. Aside from some minor grammatical errors I enjoyed the book. I read it from start to finish without stopping as it was that good.

Fun, many grammatical errors. This book reminds me of Battlestar Galactica. The space adventure part as well as chain of command politics are exciting to me. I like a story that has an elite group of underdogs that, despite all odds, manage to overcome the opposition. This story did just that. The only problem I had was the grammatical errors throughout the book. Once you get past those, it really is a fascinating read.

Not bad. This book was enjoyable despite its need for some scene re-writes. A few times characters did things that felt uncharacteristic given the situation and profession. It also started a bit slowly and not as smoothly written as later parts. Still, I did enjoy reading it.
