In Book 1, The Dying Hour introduces Jason Wade, a rookie crime reporter with The Seattle Mirror, a loner who grew up in the shadow of a brewery in one of the city's blue-collar neighborhoods. At The Seattle Mirror, he is competing for the single full-time job being offered through the paper's intense intern program. But unlike the program's other young reporters, who attended big name schools and worked at other big metro dailies, Wade put himself through community college, and lacked the same experience.
Wade struggles with his haunting past as he pursues the story of Karen Harding, a college student whose car was found abandoned on a lonely stretch of highway in the Pacific Northwest. How could this beloved young woman with the altruistic nature simply vanish?
Wade battles mounting odds and cut-throat competition to unearth the truth behind Karen Harding's disturbing case. Her disappearance is a story he cannot give up, never realizing the toll it could exact from him. The Dying Hour is a bone-chilling, mesmerizing page-turner that introduces readers to an all-too-human young hero who journeys into the darkest regions of the human heart to confront a nightmare.

Rick Mofina is a former journalist who has interviewed murderers on death row, flown over L.A. with the LAPD and patrolled with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police near the Arctic. Riveting!. It’s been awhile that a book has kept me so engrossed in it that I didn’t want to put it down! Many sleepless nights and always kept me guessing and trying to figure out what was next. I highly recommend this book!
The Dying Hour. Really fast paced, lots of mystery, some gruesome murders and a very interesting ending. Didn’t figure this one out!
Loved this book. I couldn't put it down. There were a few gruesome scenes that I skipped over but I really enjoyed it.
Awful!. It felt like the book was written by a fifth grader. Not well constructed.
Excellent. Very suspenseful. Found myself pulling for the main character as he was viewed as the underdog in his workplace. Highly recommend this book if you like who done its!
Good murder mystery. A young reporter anxious to prove himself as a good reporter gets personally involved in a murder mystery he is following. He falls apart professionally and personally as this story consumes him.
Page Turner. Never rated a book 5 stars before this one. Good character development, interesting plot, intelligent suspense ... overall great read. Never disappointed by this author.

Adrenaline pumping suspense. Calling this book a page turner is a huge understatement! One of the very best I’ve read in a long time! It had me yelling out to the characters to “watch out!” Would make a great movie or series!!

My full and honest review.. I’m not a reader at all, most books bore me and i find myself quickly losing interest but this book was nothing like the rest, this one had me on the edge of my seat, every chapter left me wondering what would happen next, absolutely amazing was executed to perfection and have recommended it to almost every person i speak to. The Dying Hour. Absorbing, page turner ... well written. I am a big fan of Mr. Mofina and his books do not disappoint me. Very entertaining.
Rick does it again!. This is a terrific fast paced novel. Jason Wade is a rookie reporter, and looking to fulfill his dream. He comes across a lead that takes him on a journey he could never image. He is determined to help with the case, even though doors are not opening for him. I am a huge fan of Rick Mofina, each of his books keep you enthralled. Thanks for the great stories.
The Dying Hour. Not bad. Not the greatest, but it had its moments with the torture devices of medieval times. Plot has been used many times, crazy serial killer kidnaps young pretty women.
