Finding Love When You Least Expect It. “I was like an invisible soul no one had noticed for years. And then there you were. Seeing me.” I truly enjoyed Love and Rumors. It’s a very sweet, funny and heartwarming tale. It’s about two people feeling like they have the weight of the world resting on their shoulders and them not wanting to let anyone down. About learning to open oneself up to other possibilities, sharing the burden and finding one’s self again. Finian and Hailey partner up in hopes of solving both their problems. What started out as them using each other as a means to an end quickly develops into something more when love steps in. Hailey tries to deny the attraction but the more she uncovers the true Finian the deeper she falls. Just when she starts to let her walls come down Hollywood comes knocking and threatens to tear them apart. The conclusion to Finian and Hailey’s whirlwind romance left me wanting more. I can’t wait to find out what destiny has in store for Maya. (4.5⭐️)

Love it!!. I personally loved this book, loved the story line and everything ❤️

A very enjoyable story, part of a series but is a standalone.. This is the first book I’ve read by Jean Oram. Love and Rumors is a great start to a series that I plan to read more of. The blurb is pretty accurate so I won’t restate the story here. I would say, though, that I wouldn’t call this a “billionaire” romance – at least not what I think of as a typical one. Finian came from very humble roots and, even though he is a movie star, nothing about him says billionaire to me in the story. I mention this only because I know some readers are getting tired of the billionaire thing and I wouldn’t want someone to miss a good story. Finian and Hailey dance around each other throughout a lot of the book. They don’t communicate with each other very well at most times but the chemistry between them is hot. They both have secrets that they don’t want the other to find out about. Their path to an HEA isn’t smooth but they do get there.

4 stars. Humorous and sweet.

Characters a bit immature. Scenery descriptions et al are good. However, the characters are a bit immature and not quite believable. At turns thoughtful, at turns almost to take off for an exhilarating scene. Then back to silly immature reasonings for their actions. it seems the author is a pantser and not a plotter...

Not that great.... It was very hard to get into. It just didn’t seem to have a lot of depth to it.

Small Town Romance. Finian Alexander is a B list movie star on vacation in Muskoka, in order to stay in the Public Eye (and ensure the jobs keep rolling in) he must play up to his bad boy image and keep being written up in the tabloids. Unfortunately that is proving difficult, everyone is so polite and opportunities to break the rules in front of paparazzi cameras are just not occurring. Perhaps he can persuade nature photographer Hailey Summer to help him out? Hailey is desperate to earn big money to pay back taxes on the cottage on Nymph Island that she and her sisters own. So desperate that she has been considering going against her principles and turning paparazzo, but despite stalking him for days she has nothing. When he approaches her in a bar, she finds his cockiness both exiting and a turn off and ends up slapping him. This is the beginning of a relationship between them and the more Hailey gets to know him, the more she doesn't understand why he hides the "real" him. This is a sweet story about being true to oneself and standing up for what you believe in. The book also introduces the other Summer sisters who feature in the following books - Maya, Melanie, Daphne and her 5 year old daughter Tigger (real name Kim).

Surprisingly good!. This was much better than I expected. It isn't one of those over the top, love/lust at first sight books. She isn't a complete sap and he isn't even a proper billionaire as he gives as much as he can to charity. Like the rest of us in real life they both have problems and issues to overcome and need to work at it a bit before they get their HEA. Tempted to read the rest of the series, rather than do my chores!

Finian and Hailey. Finian and Hailey are so cute together. They are complete opposites, or so it appears, yet they really have so much in common, both are trying to make life better for other people. This story is sweet, romantic, funny and heartbreaking. This is a great first book in the series and I look forward to reading all about the Summer sisters in future books.

Peace. Great read. Being yourself pays off and not trying to be someone your not. Feeling so relaxed reading it, nice quiet beach town and the magic of an Island.

Love and rumours. I loved Haileys character. It’s hard to be true to yourself and pay your bills . Thankfully both Hailey and Finn learnt this lesson .

Love will last. This is book 1 of a new series. Loved it. The author knows how to write stories that have a pull you in. You won’t want to put it down till the end . I can connect to the story since it takes place in my home Province . Hero is Finian. A movie star . Heroine is Hailey oldest of all the sisters who is a local photographer. Finian is vacationing in Muskoka Canada , He took off from LA when he broke of with his love . Finian is having a quite time in Ontario. He can’t believe how quiet it is up in Muskoka . He needs to do something to get his picture in the tabloids so the industry doesn’t forget him . Hailey is in a bind . . The family house (cottage) might be taken away from them for not paying property taxes by the government. Hailey needs to do something drastic and that will pay lots. She gets an idea....take a shot of Finian doing some down and dirty and sell it to the tabloids. Only thing is she’s not that type of reporter. While both Hailey and Finian are trying to do something, one thing leads to another and sparks start to fly . Does Hailey achieve her goal. Does she save the home Vanessa was good. Her voice was clear , smooth and strong she did all the characters perfectly

I had so much fun reading this book. I had so much fun reading this book. Okay, fine. Technically I was listening to it, but that doesn’t change the fact that I still enjoyed the story. Did I want to take Hailey and Finn and shake some sense into them? On more than one occasion? Absolutely! Did I want them to behave like responsible adults and use their words to have a meaningful conversation once in a while? Without question. But those irritating little habits made Hailey and Finn feel all the more human. They kept me laughing. Now that I’ve been introduced the quirky group who are the Summer Sisters, I’m excited to read more. And being a Canadian girl, I really appreciated all the local color – including our Monopoly money. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook from the author through Authors Direct.
