Various sections make up the body of the Acts of the Apostles, and they represent the widening circle of gospel outreach. This began among the orthodox Jews residing in Jerusalem, and from there it spread to the Hellenists (Greek speaking Jews) and then to the Samaritans and the Ethiopian eunuch.
The next step was the conversion of Cornelius, a centurion of the Italian cohort.
And this prepared the way for the Apostle Paul’s Missionary journeys where he preached in the synagogues to the Jews of the dispersion, to God-fearing Gentiles and ultimately to the pagans.
 
The Acts of the Apostles is also of supreme importance for the understanding  of the Epistles. It is crucial to have a good knowledge of the Acts if one is to have a true appreciation of the Epistles.
