Hugh Warwick Biografía y Hechos
William de Beauchamp, IX conde de Warwick (c. 1238 -1298)[1] fue un noble y militar inglés, descrito como un «vigoroso e innovador comandante militar»[2] Tras la muerte de su padre en 1268, heredó de por vida el título de alto alguacil de Worcestershire. Participó en las campañas galesas durante muchos años y, al final de su vida, intervino en las campañas escocesas. Carrera Amigo personal de Eduardo I de Inglaterra, fue uno de los más destacados comandantes ingleses durante la invasión a Gales en 1277.[3][4] En 1294 consiguió levantar el sitio del castillo de Conwy, donde el rey había sido cercado por los galeses,[5] cruzando el estuario.[6] El 5 de marzo de 1295 consiguió derrotar al rebelde príncipe de Gales Madog ap Llywelyn, en la batalla de Maes Moydog.[7] Durante un ataque nocturno contra la infantería galesa, usó la caballería para agrupar a la formación enemiga, a la que luego atacó con sus arqueros y contra la que finalmente cargó.[8] Familia Era el primogénito de 8 hijos de William de Beauchamp, de Elmley Castle (Worcestershire), y de Isabel Mauduit, hermana y heredera de William Mauduit, VIII conde de Warwick, de quien obtuvo su título en 1268. Tuvo una hermana, Sarah, que se casó con Richard Talbot. Contrajo matrimonio con Maud FitzJohn. Sus hijos fueron: Isabella de Beauchamp,[9] casada primero con sir Patrick de Chaworth y, en segundas nupcias, con Hugo Despenser el Viejo.
