Woman's Home Companion fue una revista mensual estadounidense orientada al público femenino y publicada de 1873 a 1957.[2][1] Aunque orientada inicialmente a temas domésticos, la moda y de la familia enfocados a la ama de casa estadounidense de clase media,[3] pronto empezó a apoyar al derecho de la mujer a tener acceso a la educación superior, a poder desarrollar negocios y al entrenamiento atlético,[3] y a denunciar al linchamiento[4] y a abogar por la eliminación de la segregación racial.[4] Por parte, otro gran acierto fue sus numerosas obras literarias y entre sus colaboradores contaba con periodistas y autores como F. Scott Fitzgerald,[3] Edith Wharton,[3] Elsa Maxwell,[5] Francoise Sagan,[1] Shirley Jackson, Zona Gale,[1] Edna Ferber,[4] Sherwood Anderson,[4] Pearl Buck,[4] Sinclair Lewis,[4] Dorothy Canfield,[1] Gene Gauntier, Rachel Carson, Ellen Glasgow,[4] Fannie Hurst.[4] Shirley Jackson, Anita Loos,[5] John Steinbeck,[6] Willa Cather,[1] P. G. Wodehouse, Sarah Orne Jewett, Bret Harte, Jack London,[7] Eden Philpotts, Morgan Robertson, Gertrude Atherton,[8] Rafael Sabatini, Eleanor Roosevelt,[9] además de un artículo de su esposo, el presidente Theodore Roosevelt.[8] Su elenco de ilustradores incluyen a algunos de los más destacados de EE.
