Patrick Bet-David (born October 18, 1978) is an Iranian-American conservative political commentator, entrepreneur, author, and YouTuber. He serves as the host of the Valuetainment and PBD Podcast channels on YouTube. Early life and education Patrick Bet-David was born on October 18, 1978, in Tehran, in Iran. He is of Assyrian (paternal line) and Armenian (maternal line) descent. On July 15, 1989, he and his family left Iran to get away from the effects of the Islamic Revolution. Settling first in a refugee camp in West Germany for two years, they subsequently relocated to the United States, arriving in Glendale, California, on November 28, 1990. Following his graduation from high school, Bet-David enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the 101st Airborne Division for three years. He briefly attended Santa Monica College, studying nutrition, but dropped out to pursue his career. Later, he attended the Executive Education Program, a series of seminars offered through the Harvard Business School. Career During his time as an undergraduate at Santa Monica College, Bet-David worked as a membership marketer at a local Bally Total Fitness. Later, he dropped out and pursued his career working for Morgan Stanley and then for Transamerica Corporation. Entrepreneurship Bet-David began his first company, PHP Agency Inc., in 2009, PHP being an acronym for People Helping People. The agency employs an MLM model to sell life insurance and annuity services to customers in the United States. In August 2017, PHP secured $10 million in expansion financing through Ambina Partners and Atalaya Capital Management, with additional support from Brener International Group and former boxer Oscar De La Hoya. In December 2020, Bet-David sold a 1979–80 O-Pee-Chee rookie card of Wayne Gretzky graded Gem Mint 10 by the Professional Sports Authenticator, making it the first hockey card to surpass $1 million in value. In 2022, Bet-David and PHP Agency partnered with Integrity Marketing Group. The partnership involved Integrity's acquisition of PHP Agency. Bet-David would become a Managing Partner at Integrity as part of this agreement. He has challenged Anthony Fauci and Travis Kelce to debate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Aaron Rodgers for $10 million. YouTube Bet-David founded and hosts the YouTube channel, Valuetainment, since 2012. The channel has 5 million subscribers and over 919 million views. He additionally founded the channel PBD Podcast, which has 1.4 million subscribers and was founded in 2020. Both his channels feature interviews with successful people from various industries, including business, sports, entertainment, and politics, and his guests often share their personal stories, insights, and advice. Bet-David hosted one of Kobe Bryant's last interviews before the latter's death. In this interview, Bryant hinted that Shaquille O'Neal would be the greatest basketball player of all time if he had his work ethic in the Shaq–Kobe feud. He has also interviewed George W. Bush, Jordan Peterson, Vivek Ramaswamy, Kevin Hart, Ray Dalio, Michael Franzese, Sammy Gravano, John McAfee, and Andrew Tate on his channel. MMA fighters Georges St-Pierre, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier and bodybuilding legends Ronnie Coleman and Phil Heath have also been interviewed on his podcast. Bet-David has appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience twice. He offered former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump $5 million for a peace talk interview. Authorship Bet-David authored The Wall Street Journal bestseller, Your Next Five Moves: Master The Art of Business Strategy. It was a book that focused on strategic decision-making for success in both business and life, using deliberate planning and making calculated choices to achieve one's goals. Bet-David advocates for people to drop out of college, build a business and network, and then return to the university with an advantage. In 2017, he wrote the book Drop Out and Get Schooled: The Case for Thinking Twice about College. Thomas N. Ellsworth co-authored the book. Bet-David also wrote The Life of an Entrepreneur in 90 Pages, describing his entrepreneurial journey experience, and Doing The Impossible: The 25 Laws for Doing The Impossible, a motivational book. Personal life In June 2009, Bet-David married Jennifer Bet-David (née Hudman), and together, they have four children. They paid $20.4 million for an estate in Fort Lauderdale. He is a Christian. He used to live in Texas but now lives in Florida. Bet-David is fluent in English, Armenian, Aramaic, Persian, and is conversant in German.
