The End of Illness Book Reviews
The End of Illness by David B. Agus Book Summary
Can we live robustly until our last breath?
Do we have to suffer from debilitating conditions and sickness? Is it possible to add more vibrant years to our lives? In the #1 New York Times bestselling The End of Illness, Dr. David Agus tackles these fundamental questions and dismantles misperceptions about what “health” really means. Presenting an eye-opening picture of the human body and all the ways it works—and fails—Dr. Agus shows us how a new perspective on our individual health will allow us to achieve a long, vigorous life.
Offering insights and access to powerful new technologies that promise to transform medicine, Dr. Agus emphasizes his belief that there is no “right” answer, no master guide that is “one size fits all.” Each one of us must get to know our bodies in uniquely personal ways, and he shows us exactly how to do that. A bold call for all of us to become our own personal health advocates, The End of Illness is a moving departure from orthodox thinking.

Logical and informative. I found the ideas in this book to be very logical and in agreeance with other health books I've read. It has persuaded me to make some changes in how I live my life...
This book will kill you. This book seems as if it's funded by all the people who want to keep you in the dark and hooked on western medicine. More enlightened texts were written 100 years ago in the age of "wrap it and drink some coffee" advice. This book should be called "go with the status quo."
End of illness. Very informative. Well written, holds your interest and has very useful ideas to improve your health.
The End of Illness. Don't waste your money.
Incomplete work. Sadly chock full of unfounded claims. He claims that raw juices are not healthy.. But provides no supporting arguments
The end of illness. A must read. If you care about your health and your families health. Read this book.
Paid commercials.... In my opinion about 1/3 of the book is a commercial for two for profit businesses. The rest...well no supplements, no juices (except wine), take aspirin with your statin, run marathons until you die, become a nun and live a long prayer filled life, share your private health information. Even though the author states only double blind scientific tests have meaning he does not follow his own advice. My opinion only...!
Just common sense.... My grandmother died on her couch at the age of 87 and I can never remember her ever being sick. Her mind was good; she was a school teacher, in a one room school house, for 40 years or so before retiring. I can't help but think, if she had read this book, she would have said how else should a person live a healthy life? It's just common sense. It seems like old time wisdom, scientifically explained of course, calling us back. I enjoyed reading this well written book and learning a great deal that should help me take responsibility for my own health. I think a lot of common sense is at play here. Keep moving, eat to get the proper nutrition, watch what we put into our systems and take advantage of the science when it has been proven to help and not hurt us. Even though there is a great deal of information to fully understand, I feel that I am on my way to keeping myself healthy or at least aware of where my health is at the moment.
