Yeesh-us. Mr O'Reilly really is the one eyed man in the kingdom of the blind.

Great. It was awesome Jesus is alive Christians stand up for there beliefs

Killing Jesus. Very good book.....done from the right perspective; and that is based on facts!! Really enjoyed the read!!

Killing Jesus. Do not bother buying this book. Nothing new or original in the book. Just a restatement of the gospels in a lot more words. Save you money and read a couple different translations of the Bible. I would give it no stars if I could

Crap. O’Reilly trying once again to rewrite history, stop and go back into hiding.

Educated and Impressed. I have a PhD in Old Testament and Hebrew, with minors in Archaeology and New Testament from an accredited Seminary. I put off reading Killing Jesus because I thought it would be just another fictionalized account of Jesus, or a textbook style intro to Jesus life. I was surprised to find an enjoyable countdown to the crucifixion. Unlike some reviews with bias who say with no evidence that Jesus’ life details weren’t known for “10 generations,” I have studied the sources O’Reilly used. They are credible and correctly attributed (some were written within one generation of the death of Jesus, including Roman sources). Thank you for a great work. I recommend it to my students and to anyone who wants to read a realistic recreation of the life and death of Jesus. O’Reilly does not equate Jesus with the Messiah or with the Christ. He simply says that Jesus claimed to be the Messiah. Well done.

Love it!. I'm thirteen years old, and I've made the decision to follow Jesus. Personally, I rather be able to pick up and open a bible rather then be touch a Harry Potter book. I think that the closer you keep it to the bible the better. Plus, had no sin, but I can't say the same for Libcoln. All in all I loved this book.

You’ve got to be kidding me!. The only reason this book is making any waves is it’s rediculouly low price. As it is said in Mathew 4:12—you get what you pay for.

READ IT!!!. Really great read. Don't listen to the haters who love to crap on O'Reilly.

Killing Jesus. I found the book to be very interesting and I am sure historically correct because of the many footnotes along the story. I do think that by reading this book I do have a better understanding of the brutality of the times which leads me to believe someone such as Jesus was necessary .

Yuckety Yuck Yuck Yuck. Bible Yes. Jesus, big yes. Bill o Reilly pretending to be a historian - no, definitely no.

Instant Classic!!!. What these two authors have put together, should be required reading for every history major in American Universities. It should be widely suggested in parochial schools to both students and parents. This may not be "gospel", but it sure was interesting and thought provoking. I am a more knowledgeable Christian for having read this.

Reviews without reading. While some reviewers complain about the authors copy catting, others claim a lack of integrity or worse. Clearly, none of them have actually read the book and only use the review to vent their own hatred and lack of tolerance by shouting down O'Reilly. However, I will take the advice of one reviewer and judge for myself and so should everyone else.

Fiction. Since there are no records from the time of Jesus' supposed lifetime, this work should be listed as the fiction it is. Just because bill wants it to be true doesn't make it true. Don't give him the impression that he is more than a silly man.

Only one reference source. Bill O'Reiily, a committed Catholic, relies upon the only reference source for the life of Jesus which is the New Testament. It's difficult to see this book as anything more than a parroting of those stories since their are no corroborating sources for Jesus's life or events (e.g., there are volumes of Roman records regarding prosecution of historical individuals, but zero concerning Jesus). Since the identity of Jesus is, and always will be, a source of dispute, I.e., the veracity of his most recocognized quotes, the performance of miracles, or whether he was one man or a collage of several people of that time this book cannot be regarded as a historical document, but only another fanciful reinterpretation of the Gospels. O'Reilly doesn't bother to acknowledge the difference.

Good Read. I've read and studied some of the bible. Specifically the life of Jesus and his teachings. This book sheds some light on what was going on in and around the time of The Christ. It walks you through his birth to his crucifixion and everyone involved, from the Roman governors to high Jewish priests to his disciples. Glad I picked it up and you will too.

Chronological Organization of My Thoughts. At minimum, reading this book did that for me. Inside the ropes look at Jesus’ life, that explains the who, what, where and when of that time. As a human being that lives, breathes, and walks this planet I now more than ever want to visit Jerusalem. I’ve been to Haifa in 89’. I’ve read Michener’s, The Source and Uris’, Exodus. I’ve been to Rome (also in 89’), I’ve got to visit Jerusalem! That may or may not happen. If not, with the aid of this book, at least I know WHY things happened during Jesus’ life the way they did. O’Reilly and Dugard did a great job explaining that.

Mike Doyle. An incredible undertaking and wonderful accomplishment!!!

Amazing Book. It’s really quite impressive how O Reilly is able to tell these stories with such detail. I have loved every book in the series.

An eye opener. This book is really informative in terms of the life style and wild recreations the wealthy Romans were involved in, and it also depicts the arrogant religious leaders who didn't miss a single chance to exploit ignorant and simple-minded peasants to the extreme. I had a four-day great time going on this odyssey!

Oh god make It stop. Jesus super cool guy. He was against the church because it was full of yes men who didn’t help the needy and poor like they claim. It’s in the goddamn bible… bill stop writing and drinking your a mess…

Excellent book!. Excellent book, I read it in three days. I have recommended this book to all my friends and family. It's proven facts about the life of Jesus from the other (not disciples) point of view.

Killing Jesus. This is another interesting well written book by theses two authors. However I am quite disappointed that I didn't learn much I didn't already know from the New Testament. There are some horribly grisly details of the crucifixion not in the Bible and a few visual details, but no new history. The Christmas story is provided as historical when I've read various sources that indicate it was inferred once Jesus was determined to be the Messiah, because it had to fulfill the prophesies. I consider this a somewhat extended passion story.

Powerful and Riveting. This book is clearly the most powerful chronicle of the one who has changed the world. A pronounced Christian or not, although hard to imagine how not, this surely captures the complete attention of every true reader. What a spectacular and memorable experience this has been for me, a Christian, to get a real sense of the life and times of Jesus Christ. Thank you gentlemen, for this writing. I personally am forever indebted.

Killing Jesus. Good book but bad title

Killing Jesus. O'Reilly and Dugard have successfully done it once again! What a great read!

Very insightful but ended abruptly. There was such an eye-opening depiction of the lives of the people in Jerusalem (Romans, Jews, and those in power), the leadership of Rome and the Jews, and the tribes people in Galilee. I was disappointed with how quickly the book ended - more regarding the aftermath of the Romans, Jews, and Jesus' followers would have been ideal; however, the title was "Killing Jesus", proposing that the aftermath was less important. The authors did a nice job staying historical despite their religious beliefs. Overall, good book.

Classic. Another outstanding book by O’Reilly and Dugard from their “Killing” series, but I found it strange they excluded Peter’s denial of Jesus since he did so three times and the acceptance of Christ by the thief while hanging on his cross beside Jesus.

Great. This book was truly eye opening. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend.

Killing Jesus. Fantastic research and easy to follow. Gives you a true feeling of pain , sorrow , and how cruel humans can be towards each other.

Poorly written, not worth buying. I wish I had read more reviews before paying $15 for this disappointing paraphrasing of the Bible. Nothing interesting. Just poor writing and terrible editing filing 250 pages. I expected more from O'Reilly.

Killing Ignorance. Episcopalian, alter boy and Christian high school. Never knew Jesus as I do now. Thank you both for the enlightenment.

Biased, outright lie.. This Book is not an historical book by no means. It's the same old lies from the 'New Testament' only in a nicer package. It is not based on anything besides for that

Mischaracterized. This should be listed as fiction. Who are you kidding?

Good stuff. Fascinating

Phenomenal page turning. Real story of his life and the politics of his crucifixion. The wide scope historical facts are incredible and explains a lot of questions A phenomenal read!

Killing Jesus. It was a very good book and would recommend it to anyone. George

Excellent book. Learned a lot very well done, O’Reilly does a great job narrating and bringing you through the times that Jesus lived. AAA+++

Killing Jesus. This book give historical insight like non other! A must read!

Sad Imitation of Biblical Scholarship. As an ordained minister with a degree in Biblical Studies I can assure potential readers that this book plays fast and loose with both facts and interpretation. It represents neither liberal scholarship, any orthodox tradition of interpretation, nor even a semblance of sincere effort. It's simply a half baked mess.

Non biblical. Not thrust worthy

Bad. Don't waste your time. Read the bible.

Good read, not all correct.. I liked it better then I expected, Bill is on here at the house all the time, and well, someone else wrote it. Killing Jesus was very informative, and the writer was able to put me right there, and get me thinking. But, if he was to check with any Pastor or Bible, Jesus was killed 3 years into his ministry. That would make Him 33, no older. Maybe it was a ebook error, but He wasn't 36 or 39, or older. He only ministered 3 years.

Not Good. Not well written or well researched.

Barely literate; no research. This book is written on a third grade level and is not based on any serious scholarship. The repackaging of old biases, assumptions, and conventional wisdom is no reason to attempt to write a book.

Amazing. Excellent book

Not A True History- It’s Fiction!. Bill’s got his dates wrong, Jesus was 33 at His His murder and death; names of historical characters are pronounced incorrectly; he adds his own fiction it’s not an accurate historical account; he takes liberty in twisting facts and makes up events or details not part of the narrative, perhaps extra biblical fiction. He really reduces Jesus to a mere man and not a God man, fully human, fully divine. Any serious student who is well trained would fine this account fictional and denies the reality Jesus was God in the flesh and although tempted like us, Jesus wasn’t struggling with His identity, was not a mere man, had great insight, wisdom and divine power. He voluntarily laid down His life, it wasn’t a miscalculation of being accused of blasphemy. Jesus was the only Son of God. Immaculate conception and God in the flesh. I find Bill’s book quite deficient and disappointing, narration is not the best and he made it a fictitious story created by the author’s concepts for his fictitious account. Any serious scholar or student of the Bible during a lifetime would not call this non fiction and true story but true fiction laced throughout the book. I humbly submit.

Killing Jesus. Ive never written a review. Read hundreds of books. This writing was surprisingly informative. Well written. Appreciated the effort to provide an accurate account of Jesus physical journey through life without a religious bias.

Exceptional read !. I felt as though I was living in the days of Jesus, such great description and attention to details, I loved it
