Gripping, compelling, suspenseful romance. Disclaimer: ARC received in exchange for an honest review. Sugar Daddy was, in a word, INTENSE. Equal parts gripping and romantic, this dark, gritty, suspenseful, dramatic story has everything but the kitchen sink. The romance between Sela and Beck is spellbinding; watching them change and grow as individuals, watching their passion increase, their relationship evolve from something questionable into something concrete and tangible, was enthralling. The tension and conflict propelling Sela's thoughts and actions was palpable and compelling. This is not a stand-alone, but rather the first installment in a three-part series, so it obviously raises more questions than it answers. This is also not a light, sweet read with a happily ever after. Sela's issues are complicated and her psyche fragile, but Bennett handles the delicate subject matter carefully. Obviously, this is a work of fiction though, so creative license is taken. Overall, this was a fantastic introduction to Sawyer Bennett, as this was my first encounter with her work, and Sugar Rush cannot come soon enough.

Sawyer Bennett has outdone herself!!!. This book is by far the deepest book Sawyer Bennett has written to date. And I have read all of her books. Sela Halstead is a VERY strong character who has a lot of REALLY deep issues. I desperately want things to work out well for her and Beck. And I really hope she can find a way to make JT pay without completely ruining everything between herself and Beck. This is only the first part of the trilogy but it is a really great beginning. I cannot wait to read the next part of the story. Be aware that this book ends in a cliffhanger.

If you want to know about the story, read the synopsis.  Anything I state in this review may give away the plotline progression.  This is a book series you need to experience for yourself.  Yes, a book series.  Although this review is for book 1, you are going to want to know what happens with Sela and Beck.  I have no hesitation in pronouncing that edict.  So let’s discuss about the characters and how they make the reader feel. “I didn’t come tonight hoping to find a Sugar Daddy.”   Sela is a tough nut to crack.  With what she went through, there is no doubt she would harden her heart before letting anyone in.  For anyone to have gone through that traumatic experience at that age, and then with no absolute closure would leave you closed off and remote to anyone.  Ms. Bennett paints with a detailed brushstroke the pain and guilt that drive this young woman to plan her revenge. I may not be able to relate to her exact feelings, but as a woman, I sure empathize with her plan.   Our hero, Beck, he is the one I can clearly relate to.  He is me.  Always believing in the best in someone. Whether my parents or friend, that this person I believe will do the right thing.  And when what you believe begins to crack, it shatters your world.  Who doesn’t believe in their core that the people you have known longest can be saved from their actions or maybe have a ‘come to Jesus’ moment for themselves. Again the character of Beck is believable in his actions.  “And I certainly wasn’t looking for a Sugar Baby,” I tell her with a chuckle. “And I’m the one out of your league.” Before I fell into reading contemporary romance full time, my genre of choice was suspense/thriller. Think Dean Koonz, John Grisham, Robert Ludlum. This book has fulfilled that missing gap in getting my heart pounding for more than one reason. As always the relationship arc is believable and not rushed. Ms. Bennett delivers the erotic on the steamy, making you hot and bothered without feeling like you’ve witnessed a 25 cent porn video. But it’s the suspense aspect of the story that kept me up late last night turning the pages needing to find out how this troubled woman will make it through. And BAM! You are now standing with your mouth open.   I am admittedly a Sawyer Bennett fangirl.  I love her style of writing with getting an in-depth dual POV.  Her storylines are always engaging and perfectly paced.  Whether it’s her legal, family & friends or sports romance, you are always in for a 5 star read.  However, without a doubt, romance suspense is where this author soars and exceeds my expectations.  Prior to this book, I would have said hands down, Legal Affairs, was my favorite series.  We have only been offered book one from the Sugar Bowl and already I can say - #1 favorite of her entire catalogue of novels.   Whether or not you’ve read her before, I highly recommend you pick up this book.  Come join us on the cliff – it’s a hell of a ride getting there so far.  5++ out of 5 heartstopping stars  

Amazing!! Hooked from the get-go.. Just the best!

Can't wait for more. When you read the title you think one thing and for the most part you're right, but this book is so much more then that. This book opens you up to a whole new world you didn't know could exist. This book flowed perfectly from one scene to the next, the writing was done amazingly and leaves you wanting more. The characters are amazing, but at the same time your heart will break for the heroine. She does everything for a reason and you will be on the edge of your seat trying to see what happens. The hero, I felt was a pawn in the whole thing, or is he? He was the perfect mix of sexy and nerd and you just love him despite his friends. This book ended with a cliffhanger and you will go crazy until the next one is out. This author has wrote some of my favorite books and this one was not a let down! I can't wait to see what happens in the 2 books to come! There are some darker tones to think book and possible triggers, but they way they were handled I felt it was respectful and clear. Don't miss out on the start of this awesome series! #2OCCJD

Amazing!. Wow! I loved this story it is such a different storyline that I have been accustomed to from Sawyer Bennett that I was stunned and captivated in the first few pages. It is a daring, thrilling, decadent, suspenseful romance that I couldn't get enough of. This story is addictive, it kept me on the edge of my seat, and made my heart race again. Sela Halstead is not who she appears to be. Sela is a dark, damaged girl, due to a tragic past. She lost her virginity to a brutal rape after being drugged when she was sixteen. She has spent the last ten years wondering about the identities of her rapist. Unable to even think about having a relationship with a man because she abhors intimacy. Until she recognizes one of them, because of his tattoo, a tattoo that she has seen before in her nightmares. The TV reporter identifies him as Jonathon Townsend the co-owner of the Sugar Bowl a new website that makes connections of unconventional relationships between Sugar Daddies older wealthy men and woman with Sugar Babies young beautiful twenty somethings. The Sugar Daddy pays a fee to join the website and then they make connections merely for companionship. The Sugar Babies also receive gifts, money and other things. But there is no exchange for sex. Right! Sela immediately knows what she needs to do to stop the hurt. Six months later she looks like a different person. She has lost 20 pounds dyed her hair and her eyebrows, removed all her piercings on her face, and has changed her whole wardrobe. She may look innocent and fresh but those are two words that should never be used to describe her, because she is a dark damaged woman. Sela's focus, strength and ultimate goals gives her purpose, and revenge is her goal. Can she become whole again after she identifies all of them and makes them pay with their life for what they did to her. But Sela wasn't expecting Beckett North. Beck is the other co-owner of the Sugar Bowl. He is the certified genius that came up with the program, while J.T. Was the money man. He is quite the hottie, starring perfection in every woman's fantasy. As well as humble, friendly charming, sophisticated and devotes time to charitable work. And when JT shoots her down at a Sugar Bowl event. Beck takes note and sweeps in. Not one for relationships, or taking on the role as a Sugar Daddy, but he does enjoy a one night stand. And Sella sees this as a way to possibly get closer to her target. This is a fast paced addicting story that captivates the reader with intrigue and suspense as well as delicious steamy sex scenes. Sela and Beck have incredible chemistry between them and she will have to works thru her issues from her past in order to move on with Beck. Will our cunning heroine get her revenge or will she chose Love? You will have to read it to find out. Cliffhanger! Highly Recommended!! Best book.. I literally hate reading, I can never find myself to fully focus on a book. But this book had me so hooked! I literally keep myself from reading it! Amazing, just wow. I cant wait till they make these books into movies.

Overall, this is a great start to a new series with wonderful characters.. This series from Sawyer Bennett is not like anything she has written before...there is a slight dark side to it, along with a suspenseful story that ends on a cliffhanger. Sela Halstead had her innocence taken from her when she was 16. All she remembers from that horrible day is the red phoenix bird with flames tattoo. Ten years later she is watching TV and an interview of Jonathon Townsend, CEO of Sugar Daddy catches her attention, especially a shot of him in a bathing suit that reveals the tattoo that has haunted her dreams. Immediately Sela starts to develop her plan for revenge. It takes her 6 months to transform herself in the perfect woman who would catch JT's attention and then Sela decides to join Sugar Daddy, the company that will match young girls with rich Sugar Daddy's. On the night of her first mixer, Sela is all ready to start her revenge but didn't expect a complication in the form of JT's business partner, Beckett North. The tall, gorgeous, too good to be true man, who is used to getting what he wants and he has decided he wants Sela. I loved these two characters. Sela is a strong willed and determined woman. She has put herself through college and is currently working on her masters degree. She is so damaged from what happened to her at 16 that she does not have any real romantic interests. Beck is a perfect hero. He is honest, caring, smart and all around a really great guy. As Sela and Beck find that they are drawn to each other in a way that neither of them ever expected, they can't help but just be together. I loved how their relationship just exploded. Beck made Sela realize that there are better things in life than revenge. Just when her life is going well......BOOM! Overall, this is a great start to a new series with wonderful characters. I can't wait to see what will happen with Sela and Beck!

Sugar Baby. This story was something else!! I've never read anything by this author and she has a new fan in me. The story was completely different from what I normally read. This story had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I don't blame Sela for wanting to kill her rapist. JT in this book makes my skin crawl. I can't wait for him to get what's coming!! He thinks because he's rich and powerful he can get away with rape. I'll be smiling when his day comes! Now back to Beck and Sela. I loved how this was just supposed to be a typical Sugar Baby agreement and once they start they can't deny their attraction and it leads to something more. It's nice to see them connect on a deeper level. I just wish Sela would have came clean sooner to Beck once their relationship got deeper. That is where she went wrong in my opinion. I know why she did what she did but she had plenty of opportunity to tell him and she didn't. The ending had me clutching my heart! My heart broke for Sela and I felt so bad. Crazy cliffhanger makes you want more!. This is book is amazing, just such a good read. I bought this book expecting to pick it up now and then but I finished it in a day and a half! I couldn't stay away from it even at work. The characters are all very agreeable except the antagonist who will make you excited for the revenge sela has in mind. The cliffhanger comes unexpectedly, it's gets very juicy at the end and then it suddenly ends. This book affected me emotionally as well, hours after reading the novel I kept wondering why it had to end a certain way, it really makes me want to read the second novel!

Very fast, steamy read.... This was a very fast (still full-length) read and I was hooked right in and along for the wild ride. Also, it ends on a cliff hanger! I don't mind that, but I didn't realize when I started. Argh... Now I'm stuck waiting but that's another story. The setup: Sela lost her innocence as a 16 year old at the hands of three brutal rapists. When she finally learns the identity of one of the men, she sets a plan into motion to make him suffer and pay for what he did. In her attempt to get close to him, she is led right into the arms of Beck... He's the one man who just may be able to break through her walls and give her a HEA. Will she have to give him up to get her revenge? Will she forget about her plan to get her HEA? Who the frack knows? I'm ready to find out though... Pros: Steamy, love Sela (equal parts confident and damaged), love Beck a little more... ;-) Cons: A cliffy?!? AAAAHHHH... It's totally worth it though. Can't wait until #2 is released! Review: Sugar Bowl 1: Sugar Daddy. Sugar Daddy by Sawyer Bennett is the first book in her new Sugar Bowl trilogy. It is a bit different from what I am used to from her. The background of Sela is heartbreaking and her lust for revenge is a little shocking but also totally expected and warranted. The bond that grows between Sela and Beck is beautiful and heart warming but will Sela's need for revenge be the thing that breaks them? I don't know that is why I am IMPATIENTLY awaiting the release of book two, Sugar Rush. Sawyer is a definite go-to author for me and I loved every word, page, chapter of this book (even the jaw-dropping cliffhanger!!).

Can’t put this book down. I think this story is my favorite so far from Sawyer Bennett. What a story it is and a great read, loved that Sela was a good believable character...strong, smart. I can’t wait to continue these books, see how she gets her justice and hopefully love. Thank you!

Shocked. I officially have a love/hate relationship with Sawyer Bennett right now. This book was SO good and now I have to wait until August to find out what happens next!! I'm praying things work out.

Sugar Daddy. Omg I'm so into this story I love Beck and Selas relationship😍. Seriously August can not come fast enough. Can't wait to find out what happens next JT is a disgusting human being just the thought of real men like him out in the world makes me sick. I hope Beck comes to his senses and realizes that Sela is telling the truth. Please release Sugar Rush sooner than August!!

Loved!!!. This is my first book of Sawyer Bennett and all I can say is wow! This book was seriously good and frustrating! I have so many questions and I can't wait to unravel this story with book 2 and 3. Sela is an amazing heroine. She suffered a gang rape at age 16. 10 years later, she's still just barely existing when she sees one of her rapist on tv. Jt, said rapist, is one of the partners in a business called Sugar Daddy, hence the book title. I'm sure I don't need to explain what this business is. Sela is determined to make JT pay with his life and her only option is to become a sugar baby. This is where Sela meets the other partner of the business, Beck. Change of plans has her needing to get to JT through his best friend and partner Beck. There is mystery about an event that has happened in Beck's past that bonds him to JT but I can't help but wonder if the cause wasn't JT himself. Beck seems clueless to who JT really is despite growing up with him. This book was so well written. I usually find characters that are annoying and I just didn't in this book. I felt Sela's brokenness, sadness, anger and her need for revenge. I felt Beck's aloofness give way to fondness, love and betrayal. And I just felt JT was a slimeball! I can't wait to see him get what he deserves in the end. This book ended with a cliffhanger that made me want to scream! Need second book now!!! Scorching hot with plety of angst!. I confess that I am a total Sawyer Bennett addict. While I haven't read every book she has written, I'm definitely making it an active goal and I'm always all over her new releases. I trust her skills so madly, that I didn't even read the blurb before I dived headfirst into this book. She writes, I read and it always works out in my favor. I spent the entire book alternating between intense fascination, delight and satisfaction and an uncomfortable feeling of angst and foreboding. To say I was on edge the entire time would be an understatement. Sela gets herself into quite a complicated predicament with Beck. Up until the very last pages, Beck was the perfect book boyfriend and didn't disappoint. Now I'm sitting here with that bitter pill that is a cliffhanger sitting halfway down my throat wondering how the hell I am supposed to go on and read something else while my brain is stuck on what just happened at the end of this book. I need some Sugar Rush....STAT!
