Gimmicky and shallow. I’ve read this booklet 4 times now, and honestly, it’s just really bad. Its gimmick is the “narratives”, or characteristics of demonized pagan gods applied to TST-style Satanism. I have no qualms with TST’s Satanism, but this book does nothing to differentiate itself from exactly that outside of the titular gimmick. It’s supposed to be a modern Satanic Bible for the author’s organization, but the information, without the narratives gimmick, could be reduced to a short tri-fold pamphlet. Or, really, a hyperlink to TST’s Seven Tenets, which are straight-up reprinted in the book. On top of that, it reads like the author has had no next-to-no experience in philosophy outside of some secular humanism and a blog post about LaVey’s Satanic Bible, so there’s zero depth to it. For someone who styles himself a “philosopher by night”, Damien really drops the ba’al (badum tsh) here, because it reads like your average redditor teenager's grasp of philosophy, i.e. shallow and sad. If you want a better read on TST-style Satanism, just read Revolt of the Angels. It’s more entertaining, that’s for sure. If you want a better read on Satanism in general, I’m just going to recommend really anything *but* this.
