Ulysse et le cyclope by Christine Palluy & Aurélia Grandin Book Summary
Alors qu'ils viennent d'aborder un rivage montagneux, Ulysse et ses hommes s'installent dans une grotte, qui est malheureusement l'antre d'un géant doté d'un seul oeil : le Cyclope. Ce monstre impitoyable dévore quatre des compagnons d'Ulysse avant d'emprisonner le reste de la troupe. Ulysse prend la massue du géant, l'aiguise et la durcit au feu. Lorsque le Cyclope revient, il lui offre du vin. Le monstre lui demande alors son nom : « Personne est mon nom », répond le rusé guerrier. Puis lui et ses hommes, profitant du sommeil du Cyclope, saisissent le pieu, le durcissent au feu et l'enfoncent dans l'oeil du géant. Le Cyclope hurle de douleur. Les Cyclopes voisins accourent. « C'est Personne qui me tue ! » annonce-t-il. Les Cyclopes repartent donc. Ulysse et ses compagnons se cachent parmi le troupeau de béliers pour s'échapper.
Cette version, en « Coffre à histoires », met à la portée des enfants une histoire forte et porteuse de sens, en la simplifiant mais sans l'édulcorer.
Après l'histoire, l'enfant pourra poursuivre sa lecture en découvrant quelques informations supplémentaires (qui est Ulysse ? qu'a-t-il fait ?...).
