Life Changing. Life changing book! I finally found someone who speaks my language.

Fantastic. So helpful and well done. An easy read in one sense, while containing some of the hardest truths I've read (for a life long Southern Evangelical like me). I have a feeling I'll be referring back to passages here for years to come.

Absolutely relevant the ideas exposed in this book. The only way to understand and learn from the Bible is through the lenses of love. The way that Zahnd explains the book of Revelations through the lenses of love is absolutely fantastic. It gave me a much better understanding of all the symbolism in Revelations. Furthermore, it gave me a better understanding of the loving God I believe in.

If the Evagelical Community ever decides it needs to read again, read this.. Precise scholarship on a way to view the Gospel that actually sounds like Gospel. Has and is actively saving me from my visions of Christ. Shouldn’t it have been a warning sign when gonzo journalists agree with our telling of Revelation, admire it almost, ignore the whole rest of the book to soak in that psychedelic vision (that was never true, was a symbol to bound to this world for him to interpret right)? Shouldn’t we be scared that on the back of Ecclesiastes prayers of Jabez that we overtake whole countries, America changing the landscape of the planet with violence and chasing it with Christian Fluff? That’s why they called it an opiate - because that’s how people have used this powerful substance. But not Zahnd. And so so thankfully, not Jesus most of all, who allowed himself to be defined as love so we could see the full beauty of his character without question.

A must-read!. This is the book every Christian, and former Christian who’s been hurt by the church needs to read.

Well written book on the love of God. So many people are blind to what Jesus taught because they continue to embrace the very systems that Jesus sought to overcome. Sadly much of Christianity has reverted to the very system that Jesus spoke of as hypocritical. And the embrace of political power by the Church puts us closer to Rome than to Jesus’ Kingdom of God. Some will read this book and claim it says God is not a God of “justice” and therefore say it isn’t biblical. I don’t understand how the message of the cross can be lost on so many Christians.

Not Good!. False teaching, please read the Bible in CONTEXT, and please read it! This is not what Jesus taught in the New Testament or the Old (John 1:1-3),reinventing Christ (God) in your own image is sin. Concerned.
