Götz Aly gehörte 1968 zu den aktiven Kämpfern in Berlin. Als Zeitzeuge und Historiker zeigt er, dass die 68er ihren Vätern näher standen, als es ihnen heute lieb ist. In der "Bewegung" sieht er einen Spätausläufer des Totalitarismus mit einer gewissen Nähe zum Nationalsozialismus. Alys Rückblick ist ein irritierter und deshalb wichtig, weil er weit entfernt ist von Renegatentum und nachträglicher Beschönigung.
