Santa Brigida, desiderosa da molto tempo di sapere il numero dei colpi che Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo aveva ricevuto durante la sua Passione, apparve Gesu’ che le disse:“Figlia mia, ho ricevuto sul mio corpo 5480 colpi. Se tu vorrai onorarli, dirai ogni giorno 15 pater e ave con le orazioni seguenti che ti do, durante un anno. Trascorso un anno tu avrai salutato ognuna delle mie piaghe“
PROMESSE DI GESU’:
1. Libertà dal purgatorio di 15 anime della sua stirpe;
2. E 15 giusti della sua stirpe saranno confermati e conservati in grazia;
3. E 15 peccatori della sua stirpe si convertiranno;
4. La persona che le dirà avrà il primo grado di perfezione;
5. E 15 giorni prima di morire riceverà il mio prezioso corpo, di modo che sarà liberata dalla fame eterna e berrà il mio Prezioso Sangue perché non abbia sete eternamente;
6. 6. E 15 giorni prima di morire avrà una amara contrizione di tutti i suoi peccati e una perfetta conoscenza di essi;
7. Metterò il segno della mia croce Vittoriosa davanti a lei per soccorrerla e difenderla contro gli attacchi dei suoi nemici;
8. Prima della sua morte io verrò a lei con la mia amatissima e dilettissima Madre;
9. E riceverò benignamente la sua anima e la condurrò alle gioie eterne;
10. E conducendola fino là, le darò con singolare tratto a bere alla fonte della mia Deità, ciò che non farò con quelli che non hanno recitato
