I boken presenterer han tre grunnleggende ideer – borgerlønn, 15 timers arbeidsuke og åpne grenser. Hver av disse utopiene underbygges av forskning og eksempler, som blant annet viser at folk heller vil ha mer fritid og forbruke mindre i stedet for høyere lønn. Bregman og flere med ham, hevder også at det er bedre å gi folk gratis penger enn bistand for å løfte dem ut av fattigdom. Og det store spørsmålet – hva skal vi leve av når arbeidsplassene blir overtatt av maskiner?

RUTGER BREGMAN (1988) er historiker og forfatter fra Nederland. Han har utgitt flere bøker om historie, filosofi og økonomi.
