Outstanding Guide!. This is my 6th McSparky product; each one has been outstanding. I follow MacPower Users regularly and have owned an iPhone for about 7 years. I have learned so much from just these resources alone. I thought I had a good working knowledge of the iPhone. After reading Davidā€™s 455 page eBook, I found out just how much I have somehow missed! I picked up dozens of tips and, yes, even downloaded apps which I never knew existed (most were free). I highly recommend this eBook. It is cheap at twice the price as are the other 6 products I have purchased. Very thorough and well organized. Thank you so much to what had to be a huge effort to produce!

Disappointing for a David Sparks product. Iā€™m a big fan of David Sparks and have purchased four other products of his. Frankly, this was a disappointing book and not up to his previous high standards. There are numerous typos, some empty references and a bit of clunky writing. While I know he spent a lot of time compiling this book it is poorly edited and not ready for release. If you are reasonably well read about the iPhone youā€™ll find too few nuggets here to justify purchase.

šŸŽ©Hats off to you. Very well displayedšŸ‘ŒšŸ»šŸŒŽ Iā€™ve been so intrigued these past few weeks ever since I switched to šŸŽ I barely even sleep šŸ’¤ Iā€™m stuck to this šŸ“± if you have any pointers Iā€™d greatly appreciate it.

Outstanding Resource for iPhone users. The iPhone Field Guide a huge resource for iPhone users - both new and experienced! It is a comprehensive guide to getting the most from the iPhone in terms of its native features as well as the best equipment and apps. Truly outstanding - layout is excellent! Fingers are crossed that an iPad Field Guide will be next.

Phenomenal Work. Thank you for this extremely valuable resource. Well done!

Great for everyoneā€”regardless of experience using an iPhone. If you are a fan of David Sparksā€™ other impressive field guides, then this is a must buy and a no-brainer. This is the perfect companion to anyone that owns an iPhone and wants to get the most out of it regardless of whether they are a Power User or new to the iPhone altogether! Thanks David for all your great work on putting out a new field guide and the dedication to keeping it updated in the future :)

Helps you cut out the fluff. I consider myself a pretty advanced iPhone user and although I may not have gotten many tips from a ā€œpower usersā€ perspective, I really appreciated that the best apps were pointed out and highlighted. This allows me to try out apps and accessories that I wouldnā€™t have tried because of the cost. I already have a few new purchases thanks to this book and they were accurately described in the book and totally worth it! The book itself is well laid out and is very visually appealing. Kudos to David Sparks!

Not As Advanced As Advertised. All of the reviews (on Apple blogs) said this was just as good for advanced users as beginners so I figured id give it a shot. A few chapters in and I donā€™t feel as if Iā€™ve learned much that is new. There are some dead links (like one for the Nomad wallet case) and even one that is supposed to link to a later chapter and just says LINK. The quality of the writing is good but I feel like it is priced for advanced users but written largely for beginners.

An excellent guide for new and regular users. David always manages to bring whatā€™s important clearly out front. The presentations are simple, in the way that you know they are well thought out. The iPhone is todayā€™s Swiss army knife. It does just about everything. There are about 40+ categories of use in the book. In each category, David presents the introduction of its use, major app players in the field, his favorites, and why they might be his favorites. He makes suggestions for difference use scenarios so you can make your own decision. And, this is all coming from a guy who messes with Apple stuff quite regularly. He does not hesitate to say where he has an unfavorable impression of something, but I think he also tends to leave out much of anything that doesnā€™t make the cut. Heā€™ll also give practical advice such as how with how he tends to manage his ā€œread-it-laterā€ type services. I use an iPhone, Powerbook, and iMac (no iPad) so this was excellent for me. While reading, I realize how settled in my ways I can get. But also, while reading, I found myself downloading a significant number of apps, many free, that Iā€™m now trying out. Iā€™ve also discovered silly things like stickers in the message app. Who knew there were stickers there? He also broadly categories users of the iPhone. Apparently, Iā€™m a ā€œtwo-pagerā€. I thought I was a unique snowflake. Ah well.

Excellent!. Thank you for taking the time to make this! Iā€™ve been waiting for itā€™s release!

An Exceent Book in a Great Series of Field Guides. David Sparks, AKA MacSparky has written a number if Field Guides on Apple products. The iPhone Field Guide is the latest in the series. David has an engaging way if writing and talking and producing screencasts to explain in easily understood terms many of the various applications and programs that are available for the iPhone. It is jam (jelly) packed with everything from RSS to photography and video to habit tracking apps. His screencasts and screenshots in each chapter are full of tips and tricks to enhance your experience with the iPhone and because he talks abou IOS much if not most of what is written and displayed is applicable for the uPhone as well. An excellent publication and money well spent when you purchase this iVook.

Wonderful resource. This book is deceptive. It seems like it goes shallow on a lot of topics. But in many ways, thatā€™s the beauty of the device. The iPhone or more generally, the smartphone, can be a deleterious object. It can suck away our attention and our time. This beautiful curated book goes to show how we can use technology to better ourselves and our lives. I really enjoyed working through the sections of this book. It offers insight into how applications and the iPhone can help with productivity, health, and even leisure. Itā€™s very well done. Iā€™m going to gift it to my father for his birthday so that he can get more out of his iPhone too.
