Jan Haft nimmt uns mit auf eine Entdeckungsreise in ein wahres Naturparadies, in dem Hunderte bunter Pflanzen und bizarrer Tiere leben, deren Naturgeschichte oft noch gar nicht richtig erforscht ist. Nirgendwo sonst leben mehr Insektenarten, nirgendwo sonst herrscht eine solche Farbenpracht. Und gleichzeitig ist kein heimischer Lebensraum so sehr bedroht: Etwa ein Drittel unseres Landes war einst von blühenden Wiesen bedeckt. Heute sind es noch klägliche zwei Prozent. Das mit zahlreichen Fotos bebilderte Buch weckt Begeisterung für diesen artenreichen, lebendigen Lebensraum und ist zugleich ein Aufruf zur Rettung der letzten Blumenwiesen.
