Practical content I can actually use!. There’s always something new to learn from reading self-improvement, DIY, or business books, but all too often the things learned seem limited to the category of “what not to do”. Thankfully, this is NOT that book. Jonathan is an author, an entrepreneur, and a success at the principles he teaches. Rather than presenting just theory, he provides actionable content with real world examples, as well as links to his website for free training - adding further depth to his message. Another element I enjoy is his conversational style. There are other writers who are far too conversational to the point where it is a struggle to find the actual content in their voice, and many whose dry prose is a perfect antidote for insomnia. Mr. Green manages to find the perfect balance, being friendly and engaging while remaining completely professional. I feel that, rather than learning from a professor, I’m being given practical advice from a trusted friend. And it is really great learning from someone who actually has skin in the game – replacing his 9 to 5 with a lifestyle powered entirely by his entrepreneurial creativity. An excellent read, very much appreciated.

Great book for anyone interested in developing an extra revenue stream.. I stumbled upon Jonathan Green’s Serve No Master a while back and really enjoyed it. It gave the reader a HUGE amount of info and really brought home the way to go about starting a business venture. For Your Boss is the Cliff’s Notes version, more or less. If you follow the advice and put in the hard work, you should have no issues coming out a winner.

Well thought out, actionable steps with a friendly execution. I found Jonathan's book a fun, easy read that had many well thought out actionable steps that a person can take right now to start making a differences in their own lives. I know for myself, the last year and a half, I have been creating a runway the worst way possible (credit cards) and can absolutely see the value he is trying to communicate by doing something different and outside the box to make the changes to create the foundational changes a person needs for their own platform - and to further their skills to become experts in whatever it is they want to do or be. It's a solid blueprint for the beginning of your pathway to something different. And he puts it in a no-nonsense, concise, yet friendly tone throughout the entire book. You never get the sense it's going to be easy, but you always feel like you'll have the support and a way to get the answers to your questions should you ever hit a real snag. Fire Your Boss. This book will end your doubts about making a living outside of your hourly paid job by explaining how it is done. It is time well spent reading because the author has learned by doing and has brought his experiences along.

Those quotes sum up the whole ethos of this book. Most people are not paid what they are worth. If you feel like that, it's time to 'fire your boss'. The problem, of course, is just how are you going to replace your income? The key to this is to start determining your future yourself, take responsibility for your life and build up an online home business. The first part of this short book is a plea for you to take your new business seriously. Too many people 'play' at making money online. Don't do that, Jonathan implores you to regard it as a real business. After that, it is time to get down to business. What, exactly, are you going to do? Here Jonathan gives you sixteen opportunities that you can choose to concentrate on and put into action. Don't try to do more than one. Pick one that appeals to you and focus on it until you get good at it. The first one is, unfortunately, Blogging. I say 'unfortunately' because, personally, I would have put this way down in the list. Why? Because it takes too long to start seeing some success. And that puts a lot of people off - they lose their belief that this is going to work. Most of the others will get you somewhere faster. This is NOT, however, a get-rich-quick book. If you're hoping for instant riches - to become a 7-figure earner overnight - forget it. Those methods don't exist. There's no 'quick fix' or 'secret' that will make you a millionaire. You have to put the work in. Nor is this a book that says 'do this, do that' and you'll become successful. Once you've picked the basics of what you're going to do (and, yes, Jonathan shows you the elements of what each path involves) you're going to have to find out exactly how to do it. That's too much to cover in this one book, so go away and search for details, other books, training videos and so forth by using Google search. The final chapters are another plea to committing yourself to your new path and, for goodness sake, take action. I absolutely agree. Too many people get a dream in their head but do nothing about it. Or people get started on something and then give up. Listen to what Jonathan says because he's been through it himself (and he finishes with his own story of failure and success). Like I said, this isn't a 'how to' book. It's more of an ideas book, something to prompt you to change your life and spring into action. I've read a lot of books like this but few have been so succinct and tried so hard to push the reader out of their comfort zone. This could be the one book that finally makes you take responsibility for your own life and your own decisions and stop leaving it all up to your boss. Must Read!. Absolutely fantastic book..

Insights and actions…just what I needed. I have followed Jonathan's work for a while. He has influenced much of my own writing and has caused me to start at least a mini-side hustle that is bringing home just enough for a coffee a week. At the moment I thought this was enough, but again comes another great book that inspires me to do more. I have already actioned a few of the steps in this book and am starting to see results. (I was fortunate enough to get an advanced copy for review). Jonathan consistently over delivers and offers amazing tips and extras to help along the way. If you are starting to think about a side-hustle, or have one going that isn't quite breaking even (yet) then this is the book for you. I do wonder though if we all fire our bosses who will work for anyone anymore... :-) But, I'll worry about that another day when I'm sipping gin on my tropical island. Just wow. This is one of the best and easiest books I’ve read in a while. I ended up reading it all over a couple of days because I got me excited to read more. It’s ignited my spark and encouraged me to take the leap and start my own blog. While reading this I’ve already started drafting ideas for posts as well as written my first one and a half, designed my website and logo and have really begun to think long term about this venture.
