“A bold, edgy, accomplished debut!” —Kate Quinn, New York Times bestselling author of The Alice Network

A forgotten history. A secret network of women. A legacy of poison and revenge. Welcome to The Lost Apothecary…

Hidden in the depths of eighteenth-century London, a secret apothecary shop caters to an unusual kind of clientele. Women across the city whisper of a mysterious figure named Nella who sells well-disguised poisons to use against the oppressive men in their lives. But the apothecary’s fate is jeopardized when her newest patron, a precocious twelve-year-old, makes a fatal mistake, sparking a string of consequences that echo through the centuries.

Meanwhile in present-day London, aspiring historian Caroline Parcewell spends her tenth wedding anniversary alone, running from her own demons. When she stumbles upon a clue to the unsolved apothecary murders that haunted London two hundred years ago, her life collides with the apothecary’s in a stunning twist of fate—and not everyone will survive.

With crackling suspense, unforgettable characters and searing insight, The Lost Apothecary is a subversive and intoxicating debut novel of secrets, vengeance and the remarkable ways women can save each other despite the barrier of time.

Don’t miss THE LONDON SÉANCE SOCIETY! Sarah’s next spellbinding book about truth, illusion and the grave risks women will take to avenge the ones they love.

Loved it!. Loved this! Loved the layers of stories, lessons and history. I think all women can relate at some point in their lives to Caroline’s challenge. Was glad to read about someone who did something about it instead of miring in her misery

Will read again. If you want something unique, try this book. The story is captivating and brilliant. Many twists and turns I didn’t expect. The characters were so interesting and unpredictable. It’s worthy of the time anyone devotes to reading an audiobook.

Missed the mark for me. This book came highly recommended. I think it would be great as juvenile fiction but the circumstances in this book are far fetched. It’s a little too doe eyed for my taste.

Loved. Great book. Looking forward to another book by this author.

Absolutely enthralling!!. I love these characters so very much and the story kept hitting me with twists and turns I hadn’t expected! I’m certainly going to be thinking about these women for a long time.

Better than Netflix. Such a well done book that keeps you hanging on every word. From start to finish, you will not want to put this one down.

Couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want this book to end and couldn’t put it down. The ending felt a bit rushed but it was a good closer. Will read more by this author!

Excellent read!. I had a very hard time putting this one down. I would read before bed, during breaks at work, and whenever else I could. The book kept me questioning and tied all the pieces together phenomenally throughout the book. Highly recommend!

Amazing!. Great read. Hard to put down.

Excellent book. Loved every minute

The Lost Apothecary. Almost read in one setting. Had not sleep, as much as I fought it, overtaken me, i would have. All the elements of every positive review written. I don’t understand how it could have even got a negative review!

Amazing. I finished this book in less than 2 days, it was interesting and well written. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read!

Captivating. Well written, with a unique style. I felt like I knew each character personally.

Engaging. interested from start to finish.

Meh. Boring and predictable.

Thank you Gayle⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. A friend suggested this book a week ago, so check it out, downloaded the sample, and it instantly captured me, I couldn’t put it down, I even woke up in the middle of the night to read:) Loved this book, highly recommend!! Thank you Gayle♥️

The lost Apothecary. I am the worst for judging a book off it’s cover that gets 5 ⭐️s! The book it’s self is okay. Not membeable but if u love witchy books read it!

Enjoyable!. I really enjoyed this book. It neatly tied everything together at the end for a very satisfying read.

Good idea, Could be better constituted.. Great Concept, I loved the dual timelines, they both had interest. The ending really fell flat. It had a lot of energy leading up that had little payout.

Amazing. This was an amazing read. I honestly couldn’t put it down. She flawlessly jumped through time and told a phenomenal story. I almost want to re-read it right now to experience it again. Crazy right?!

Delightful blend of past and present. The chapters going from late 1700s London and contemporary London were smoothly and beautifully blended to reveal a compelling story. Couldn’t put it down!

Sweet and twisted. Great story! The relationships feel so natural and you really feel the feelings being expressed by the main character.

It was okay.. Easy read and interesting enough, but a little too simple.

Great book!. I love historical fiction and this book did not disappoint. A fast read and great plot, I couldn’t put it down!

Seeing London in the past and present. Starts slow, then you get to a point where you just keep on going to find out what happens.... Almost reads like a true fascinating story.

Great cross-century woman-centered story. This book scratched all kinds of itches for me! Historical fiction (eighteenth-century London), revenge (via poison), crossing the borders of time (to present-day London and an American protagonist who is rediscovering who she is), and friendships between women who lean on one another at their most vulnerable moments. It's fast-paced and suspenseful--no wonder it was an instant NYT bestseller!

Intriguing and delightful read. Nicely paced, easy to follow the skipping between the three protagonists and a quick look into the late 18th Century.

Good Read. I throughly enjoyed this book. It’s not a typical book I would choose to read on my own but thanks to my book club- it got me out of my ordinary genre of books.

Loved this!. It was so good and so well written, I managed to read it in under 24 hours ❤️

I will tell everyone about this book. I read a lot of books, and for the past year, most have been disappointing or unfulfilling. I’ve dabbled into the genre of murder mysteries, and haven’t had much luck finding something with depth. I finally came across this book and cannot shake how impressed I am. This book has blown my mind. With one coherent story, the author manages to touch across so many relatable themes. Womanhood, parenthood, honesty and deceit, self-awareness, faith, courage, curiosity, friendships - old and new, boredom, intrigue, fear, purpose…and my favorite part - a touch of magic, and a touch of spirituality. I believe our physical world and a spiritual world are woven together, and maybe a magical world is the in between - and without acknowledging this in a biased or extremist way, the author leaves little nuggets of its existence. If you are at a crossroads in your life - personal or career - let this story shed some light on what matters most. Forget society’s influence, forget the things drilled into you that deep down you don’t believe. Jump into an icy river and allow yourself to emerge to a new you.

Good read. Great boook. Good story and interesting keeps you wanting to know more

The title is perfect for the book.. I loved the story, it was easy to follow with twists and turns. I loved the book and couldn’t put it down.

A new favorite. I felt like I was there in each time, and just really enjoyed this book.

Didn’t want it to end!. It’s been a very long time that I have loved a book as much as I love this book! I own the hard copy and the audiobook. I like to listen when I can’t read. I would also give that 5 stars! I binged read/ listened to this book in two days. I didn’t want it to end. I look forward to more books by this author! Definitely in my top 5 favorite books! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fast paced and incredibly satisfying. I was transported to a different time and was delighted with this fast paced and cleverly written book. Loved it!

Loved it!. I haven’t read a book in, well, 15 plus years and this one peaked my interest at the very start; I was hooked! Great story- unlike one I have EVER read before! Give this book a try and you won’t regret it!

Excellent read. Loved the story, the mystery and the unraveling. Kept me up at night reading.

Meh. This entire book could have been the first five chapters to a more interesting book

Spellbinding!. Spellbinding and quite fascinating.

Brain Numbing.. Interesting concept, but I can’t even finish this—not worth my time. The writing style is disjointed, no character development, couldn’t find anyone to care enough about to continue. Reads like an historical romance novel for those waiting for a better book to come along.

Great storytelling. A wonderfully good read of things, and people, lost and found. Well written, keeps you guessing and imagining even after the last page.

Could have been better. This book was an okay read. It kept me interested but it could’ve been better. I was a little disappointed in the end.

GREAT READ. LOVED IT.

The lost apothecary. I like this book very much. It was easy to follow the story as it went from present day 2021 to the 1791 time. I love that it’s a story of women who took matters into their own hands.

perfect ending. just when i thought this book might of left me hangin in the air, everything came together perfectly.

Compelling, but.... Compelling story line and I did read it fast but there were a few things that seriously hindered my enjoyment of this book. Too many plot points hinged on misunderstandings that could be easily explained, and the characters at times seemed flat. The writing style felt like it was doing way too much of my thinking for me, spelling out things to a frustrating degree, stating the obvious, telling not showing (or in some cases shooting itself in the foot by showing THEN unnecessarily telling).

Boring and predictable.. Put me to sleep so I guess it was good for something. I didn’t like the characters … too predictable.
