Excellent intro to the Lovecraft anthology. The writing is descriptive, using language styles that I don’t see recent authors use anymore; and words that have held innocent notions in mind to evoke blood-curdling images.
You suspect something’s wrong only for it to pay out with such an “Oh… Oh no” moment. Amazing build-up
Conceptually terrifying. Beautiful and vivid detail in the vocabulary while maintaining an imagination for the unknown.
Love the lovecraft stories. Enjoyed this a lot. Read 100 pages in 1 sitting once, and I finished it over the span of a month but that was just because I was busy. Very interesting story and very well presented.
Classic. Great cosmic horror classic.
