Mountain Man Please. This book didn’t disappoint! Axel and Emelie’s story is beautiful and sweet! From the unfortunate circumstances of being left by her boyfriend, to needing help from a perfect stranger, Emelie soon finds herself stranded in a cabin with a giant mountain man. But what she finds is a life and love she never expected!

A REAL Mountain Man. Really enjoyed this story. Axel is a real mountain man - he truly lives off the land. And Emelie is no wilting wallflower. The reader has a chance to get to know them as they get to know each other, as is true in each of Kaci’s books.

A gentle giant finds his forever person. 4.8 stars This is the first book in the Mountain Men of Whiskey River series and the first I have read by the author. This is a moving storyline about learning the true meaning of love. Emelie is working at a job that does not give her joy and dating the boss’s son. As she and her boyfriend decide to take a camping trip, the unexpected happens and Emelie learns that her boyfriend is not the man she thought he was. When she confronts him, he does the unthinkable and Emelie is left stranded in the woods with nothing. Axel is a man who left city life to create a new one where he is at peace. He finds Emelie walking around and from their first encounter it was like lightning striking as the two are drawn to each other. The more time they spend together, their feelings grow. Overall, this is a wonderful storyline that highlights the depth of feeling of a gentle giant towards his Emelie that will have you wanting your own mountain man. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Excellent Read!. This book stayed with me for many days after finishing it. I loved it! I felt sorry for the H because of the difficulty he had in his live due to his size, but I cheered for the h in the way that she was able to look past what the H thought were his shortcomings and see him as a man worthy of love. They were such a compatible couple and their love was so pure and innocent. This was a well-written book with great character development and a lovely romantic story with a wonderful HEA. Highly recommend to read.

Take Me to the River. First time reading this author. Did not like this book at all. Very lame story.

Hot.. I’m the kinda gal that likes LONG Slowed paced novels, although this is exactly the opposite, this one right here is EXACTLY what I needed. Recommend 10/10 to those who love romance but loves “action”;)

Take Me to the River. I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. HOT! HOT! HOT! This story is a good start to the series of mountain men who find their special someone. Emelie has gone camping with her boyfriend only to discover he has been cheating on her. After exchanging a few heated words, she walking off to give herself some space. Upon returning to the campsite, she discovers the boyfriend has packed up everything and left her. Well Chris is now the ex-boyfriend for sure. Emelie decides her best option is to walk to the parking area and get a ride to the nearest town. The only thing wrong, she walks in the wrong direction! She comes upon a man bathing in a river. Due to an impending storm, Axel, the handsome giant, leads her to his cabin instead. After several days of rain, the road down from the mountain going to town has been washed away. The only thing to do, return to the cabin and wait. Only now another storm has hit the area. During this time, Axel and Emelie, use it wisely to talk and discover things about each other. You could see the sparks flying between these two as the e-reader heated up! Axel is a very dominant alpha who only wants to protect what is his. Time spent with her has made Axel feel better about his size. Most everyone has feared him due to his size. Emelie wants to show her "giant" that he is worthy of love and she is going to give it. This is also written in a dual POV format. I love that. It helps me to better understand the characters and why they say and do things in a scene. This is a steamy romance so be prepared for sexy times and some dirty talk thrown in.

Take Me To The River. What a brilliant introduction to books by Kaci Rose! Axel and Emelie’s book had me in it’s grip from word 1. I was enraptured to the very end. I can’t wait to read every book Kaci has written!

Mountain Man HOT!!!. One of the best books I have read this year! Impatiently waiting for the next!!!

Beauty and the Beast?. Only this beast is a loving, sexy mountain man. A love story of how Little One and her Giant filled a need in each other that they didn’t know existed. My next stop is to download and read Take Me To The Cabin. I’m hooked.

Enjoyable Listen. 4 Stars Take Me to The River was my first book by author Kaci Rose. This is book 1 of The Mountain Men of Whiskey River Series. Insta love/ Insta Lust story with forced proximity Emelie - is on a camping trip and is left behind by her ex after discovering his cheating. She is stranded but starts walking and heads in the wrong direction. She meets Axel along the way and with the weather conditions she is forced into the option of staying at his place. Axel leads a sad and lonely life for 12 years but he had such a caring heart along with his protective and dominant side. Within hours there is dry humping and a few days for them to seal the deal. Decisions to make when the ex reappears but can her love for her giant man exceed what she knows. A fast-moving story told in dual POV with dual narration. Definitely some spicy sexy time with great dirty talk! Krys Janae and Javi Wilder were both enjoyable narrators.

Hot, giant mountain man. Emelie and Axel are a perfect fit! She goes camping with her boyfriend, finds out he’s cheating and meets Axel. This wasn’t a typical romance, in that they didn’t have their usual misunderstanding and be a part. These two truly like and trust each other. It is a fun story with real life elements that kept me up too late. Other than the grammatical editing things, this book was great! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I now want a mountain man.. If you’re a fan of smoldering, instalove, then this is definitely the story for you. Emelie is a sweet FMC, who loves the outdoors, and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty. Axel, well, he’s a brute of a mountain man, who has been alone for so long, he just doesn’t know what to do with himself when Emelie stumbles upon him. The story centers around the two, being rained in, in Axel’s remote mountain cabin. Axel broods, while Emelie just laps it up. Smoldering doesn’t really describe the tone of this book, but it is the closest I can come up with. While there is spice, it’s not an in your face type of spice, but definitely not fade to black. The story, for being 100 miles an hour was sweet. I do wish there would have been more to the relationship in terms of some sort of hesitancy on either MC’s part, but that’s my opinion. I also now need to convince my husband to build me a cabin in the mountains & to grow a beard. 😂

So worth the Wait!. I was so looking forward to reading this book. Have read another series by this author, and loved every single book. This one did not disappoint either! Axel is the perfect mountain man!!! So worth the read, can’t recommend enough!

Lovable Mountain Man!. WOW! First in a new series, Take Me to the River by Kaci Rose was wonderful! I didn’t think I could love another series as much as her Oakside Military Heroes, but I am in love with Mountain Men! I absolutely loved Axel and Emelie. Axel rescues Emelie when she was stranded by her ex-boyfriend in the woods. Their chemistry is instantaneous and HOT! Like Emelie, I easily fell in love with Axel. He was so loving and sweetly protective of her. And she was such a perfect match for this mountain man. Really looking forward to the next in the series!

A steamy, feel-good romance. After a fight with her now ex-boyfriend, Emelie gets left alone in the woods with no provisions. She decides to try and hike back to the highway. However, she picks the wrong path and as it gets closer to dark she stumbles up a man standing in the middle of the river. A large, tattooed extremely attractive man. Once Axel hears Emelie’s story, he takes her to his cabin. The coming storm cuts them off from going anywhere but neither seems to mind. I so enjoyed this story and watching Axel learn to accept that there is someone who is not afraid of his size and Emelie come into her own. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. Yum! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Walked the Line. This book really walked the line between not good and okay, for me. Some parts were good while other parts made my eyes roll.

Well worth reading, looking forward to the next in the series.. I must be honest here from the start - this is the first ever Mountain Man book I have read, but the cover just drew me straight in!! Emilie was on a camping trip with her boyfriend when she discovered that he was two timing her, after confronting him she went for a walk to calm down but on her return discovered he had packed up everything and left her in the woods alone. She tried to find her way back down the mountain but got lost, walking in the wrong direction in fact. Axel had lived alone in the mountains for several years, he was a tall, well built muscular man who’s size intimidated people who didn’t know him, he had made the decision to leave civilisation behind and went into the nearest town, Whisky River, (great name) only once a month to get supplies. He was washing in the river when Emilie appeared, and there was an instant attraction between them. He was appalled when he discovered what Emilie’s boyfriend had done, and offered to take her back to his cabin for warmth and shelter as a storm was moving in. The story of their developing relationship is very well written, each character’s personality comes across well, and keeps your interest from the start. Despite his size Axel comes across as totally taken with Emilie, and will do anything to keep her safe, whilst Emilie is so happy to feel loved and protected. I can thoroughly recommend this book, and will definitely be looking out for the next in the Mountain Men series.

A hot read!. Wow, what a sizzling hot story! This book is absolutely on fire, like the chemistry between Emelie and Axel! Emelie is lost in the woods after finding out her now ex boyfriend cheated on her, when she meets Axel, who initially isn’t very welcoming. Axel helps Emelie to his cabin before a storm hits but having not been used to being around people for a while, Axel initially struggles. It isn’t long however before he realises Emelie is just the woman for him and he doesn’t want her to leave him, but her ex appears on the scene again trying to persuade her to go home! This book is full of hot, steamy passion!! The characters are fantastic, such an easy to read book with a lovely happily ever after

Their Life Changing Meeting. Emelie couldn’t believe her luck when she run into Axel at the river, but what she didn’t realise, what that it was actually the start of a beautiful life she didn’t know she wanted or needed. Axel was happy living a solitary life, but the minute Emelie stumbled into his life, she made him realise he was missing out on the joys and pleasures of life. Spending time together helped them change their outlook on life, but they unfortunately nearly lost it all, due Emelie’s ex-boyfriend’s lies. This is a perfect steamy romance for anyone looking for a captivating read. I suggest you don’t start reading it on a weekday evening, because you won't want to put it down once you start. It was easy for me to get swept up and lose myself in this engaging read. I know you will enjoy reading it too. She was left alone on the mountain. She can't believe how he boyfriend (Chris) could just leave her stuck in the mountains (without anything), after their fight, especially how he was the one who cheated on her. Luckily Emelie crosses paths with the huge, but sexy mountain man Axel. They are stuck together, and Emelie gets a taste of what mountain life is like. Will she want to stay with Axel? I loved the sparks between Emelie and Axel, how protective and caring Axel is, and how their story plays out. I look forward to his friend Phoenix's story. Awesome, must read!. I really enjoyed reading this book - the gentle giant rescues the petite, timid damsel in distress. Great characters, such picturesque writing, so tender yet smoking hot interactions. Set in a very rural, primitive setting. I almost felt I became a part of the story! I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.

Take me to the to the river. I’m reading these out of order but I love this series . Getting to know about mountain life is great . Snd meeting the characters of the other books in the series makes this very familial .

Perfect Gentle-man Giant. Axel is the perfect man - protective, caring, reliable, trustworthy and built like a giant Greek god and he’s hidden himself on the mountain because people don’t know how to cope with his size. Emelie is a petite, damsel in distress and he’ll do anything for her. This is a beautiful story that captures you in its spell, not letting go until the last page.

Take me to the River. Take Me To The River is the first book in a new series by Kaci Rose. It is HAWT and amazing from the cover all the way through to the final word. Emilie is a sweet girl trying to get through life and make her relationship work. She goes on a camping trip with her boyfriend Chris to find out he has been cheating on her. She walks away to cool down and returns to find out he has abandoned her without anything in the mountains with a storm heading in. She tries to find her way to the parking area to get help and gets completely lost. She finally wanders by the river and finds the largest most handsome man she has ever seen. Axel has always been disrespected and treated badly because he looks like a giant but he is truly a sweet gentle man. He can’t believe someone has left this precious little lady to make it on her own in the wilderness. Their love for each other grows exponentially every day and the story progresses beautifully an awesome read by Kaci Rose!

Mountain Man Insta Love. Fantastic book from start finish. Loved both characters, especially Axel he’s so sweet and protective. Definitely worth a read. I love all of Kaci Rose’s books, though I probably would have read this one for the cover alone!
